Matt Rhule Is Bucs’ Best NFC South Friend

January 12th, 2022

The face of easy Bucs wins.

It appears the Stinking Panthers are keeping their overmatched college coach, Matt Rhule.

The Stinking Panthers outfought the Giants to hire Rhule — let that sink in — and he’s proven he’s over his head in the NFL. He’s burned through two quarterbacks in two years and tens of millions of dollars of Carolina owner David Tepper’s loot, plus he’s scapegoated several assistants including a respected offensive coordinator.

So Joe sure hopes Rhule stays in Carolina.

He’s now throwing assistants overboard, including former Bucs defensive tackle Frank Okam, who was the Stinking Panthers defensive line coach. Joe thought that was one of Carolina’s few decent units. Oh, well. And good luck finding decent coaches willing to work on one-and-done contracts.

Joe is crossing his fingers that Tepper, who desperately wants a quarterback, keeps Rhule. Because it is dumb stunts like what is detailed below that will allow the Bucs to get two easy wins each season so long as Rhule is running the Stinking Panthers.

Per eagle-eyed Brian Baldinger of NFL Network, the former NFL offensive lineman who does a fantastic job of video breakdowns on Twitter, swears last Sunday night the Bucs ran the exact same play twice in a row using the same formation and Rhule’s defense never picked up on it.

The plays in question were two passes to foot-rubbing Rob Gronkowski down the seam.

Baldinger is incredulous about how sloppy that is for the defense. He couldn’t believe the Bucs would run the same play on consecutive snaps out of the same formation and the Stinking Panthers never sniffed it out.

You can see the video below. As Joe said, so long as Rhule coaches the Stinking Panthers, the Bucs are going to get two slam dunk wins each season.

I am shocked Matt Ruhle is still the Panthers coach.

  2. BA4President Says:

I’m not completely shocked they kept him. 3 years is usually the standard, unless you are Lovie Smith or Greg Schiano.

  3. MaineBuc Says:

This is interesting as I remember awhile ago BA saying they never call the same play twice in a SINGLE game. [Which I always thought was odd why not run it again or a variation of it if they have trouble stopping it] My my have times changed. We def see Bradys imprint on this offense.

Or maybe it was Dirk lol

  4. ClodHopper Says:

Too bad he aint coaching the Saints.

  5. Allbuccedup Says:

Surprised he wasn’t fired monday or tuesday. Hes already fired almost half his coaching staff. When that starts happening its going to be bad to worse I see in the panthers future number #1 draft pick in the 2023 draft.

  6. bucschamp Says:

Scotty’s run was also the same except the went to other side.

  7. Bird Says:

I hope so. That would be awesome if they keep him

And matt ryan coming back too so that is good news

Now we just need some team out of nfc south to give payton 12 mil per year or more. Whatever the highest is
    😂

Not adjusting the defense at all while the offense runs the same plays repetitively? Sounds like the Panthers went to that Mike Smith mode of coaching defense vs the Bears and the Falcons during his last couple of games as defensive coordinator before One Buc force Koetter to can his friend. I am amazed Rhule survived. The Panthers will probably revisit the same situation about this time next year. Kind of like the Bears this year with Nagy….. Looks like the NFC South basement is now located in Charlotte.

  9. BucBrady Says:

This might change if some high profile gigs open in CFB. It would not surprise me if say a Michigan makes a run for Rhule if Harbaugh jets. Rhule has already stated that he could get paid more in college ball, and while that may not have been attractive before–I’ll bet it weighs a bit heavier now.

went to the Panthers v. Bucs game in Charlotte, there was a chorus of “Fire Matt Rhule” from the Panther fans, I almost felt bad for the guy, then I remembered I have been a Bucs fan since 77′.

  11. SlyPirate Says:

Can you imagine TB12 with Alstott?

Gronk goes down on contact to avoid injury. Alstott blew defenders up.

  12. Swampbuc Says:

Rhule is the world’s tallest dwarf. Look at his head, it’s like 2 feet tall by itself. Inset eyes, huge forehead. A genetic mistake.

  13. unbelievable Says:

I think Rhule is doing a great job and the Panthers should keep him for a very very long time.

  14. Overlokd Says:

Yes the Panthers are bad. Yes mistakes where made. Is it Rules fault? Yes

But please don’t think for one min that the Bucs would be where they are with out the Goat!

Your coach has his own problems and I’m not so sure about him not telling Antonio to f-off either.

So cast stones if you wish we’ll be here to chatch them and throw them back.
