Bucs Officially End Regular Seasons For Lavonte David & Leonard Fournette

No surprise this afternoon when the Bucs formally placed Lavonte David and Leonard Fournette on injured reserve. They could return for the playoffs.
Joe already reported that David is expected to miss Week 1 of the playoffs because of his Lisfranc sprain late Sunday night.
Lombardi Lenny is saddled with a bad hamstring.
Those trumpets you hear are the buglers Ronald Jones hired to announce his presence with authority.

Well that answers one of the big questions I had, if the Bucs were saving the IR slot because they didn’t have the cap space to sign anyone, or they wanted to roll over the tiny amount of cap space they’d save by not signing someone to next year. Assuming that is the case, I’m not sure if teams get any sort of cap release from guys going on IR, but I’ve never heard of it so I assume not.

Yeah Evans is the one I really want to hear about. Him and ab can get after it, but if he’s out then it’s just ab and a mix of Johnson, Perriman, Miller, and an outside shot of the guy just off IR.. goodness can’t even remember his name now

I didn’t realize that Perriman is as good of a blocker as he seems to be. BA was praising his blocking, so he might do ok in the slot. AB is definitely NOT best in the slot, get him out wide and put him in motion.

Swampbuc – Your WRs need to catch the ball. Saying a WR should primary be a blocker doesn’t make any sense, if that’s the case then just put an offensive lineman in the slot.
AB plays the slot roll perfectly. It’s where Brady wants to look first, and AB has the quickness to always be open underneath.

Ever hear Arians discuss his requirements for a slot receiver? Yes of course they need to catch, Tanner Hudson could catch. Yes I know he was a TE but the reason he is no longer a Buc is that he couldn’t block a cripple.
Godwin is lauded for his blocking almost as much as for his catch reliability, which is among the highest in the league.
Maybe you need to check yourself before declaring, in so many words, that all Arians cares about from his slot receivers is catching the ball.
Hines Ward…..Larry Fitzgerald……Chris Godwin……..they do it all.
Now, Michael Clayton? He was a joke. All he could do was block, he couldn’t catch a cold if he lay naked in the snow during flu season.

Huge losses for us along with Godwin. Irreplaceable. Playoff Lenny had another gear picking up yards. And we all know what Davis means to our D. Unless some players truly step up and out from the bench, I don’t see superbowl here. Playoffs yes. But no rings without these guys. Of course If 2 or 3 players step up and play lights out then we got somethin. I’ll wait but I will not hold my breathe.

If there was ever a time where Rojo steps up…now is the time….if the kid cares anything about future paychecks (who doesn’t except the already wealthy)….now is the time.
As far as money….it’s not much but we saved 3 games salary from AB & Edwards….

This Saints game was a disaster in many ways (stating the obvious)…..we were just getting healthy with SMB, Davis, Gronk,White, Whitehead AB & others….then we lose 4 starters in one game….
What really hurts are the players who are playing with injuries….JPP for example….and who know who else?

These injured players helped get us to the brink of the playoffs with 3 weeks to go. Time for the backups to do their jobs by first winning the division. Hopefully we get a few starters back from injury when playoffs start. As we all should know it is rare for our Bucs to make the playoffs. It is very rare for them to make the playoffs in back to back seasons. The Bucs have never made the playoffs three years in a row. Enjoy these times Bucs fans.

Franc and a blowout hamstring? Ben has had both, good luck. We always called it miss. Franc cuz it’s got you by the balls. A hamstring for a rb late in the season is bad news, one because they won’t have warm weather home field, and b. Rbs usually don’t have a throttle, it’s go or no go. Ben will tell you one thing, we’ll finally find out what tb12 really has left. Ben is of the mind of Kyle Reece in the terminator, “with these weapons, I don’t know… I don’t know”

If your stupid GM had decided to make the team better, instead of bringing the old band back together, you might have had more options. This is the problem when you don’t have any conception of winning. Giving Godwin the franchise was a smart move, as y’all see. Almost everything else could’ve been done by a 9th grader on his or her laptop. It’s just not how you build a team. As much as I love me some TB12, this was as easy to predict as an Arians hangover…

Listen .Everyone. Quiet the noise. We will be fine. We still have talent and we still have Gronk, AB, Evans will he back for the playoffs and Ron Jones is more than capable. His time to shine. And lastly we have the greatest QB, Tom Brady, who ever played the game. RELAXXXXX!
