Injury Report
December 9th, 2021The Thursday injury report for Buffalo week could be a lot worse.
Only two Bucs didn’t practice today, and was a big name. That would be center Ryan Jensen who has an ankle issue. Safety Jordan Whitehead (calf) also did not practice.
Jamel Dean and Jaelon Darden, both hoping to play Sunday after being in concussion protocol, were full participants. So too was Jason Pierre-Paul, who we know has a torn rotator cuff.
Will Gholston (knee/wrist) returned to practice but was limited. Nose tackle Vita Vea (knee) was also limited in practice.

Jenson is all I read. He needs to play.

This is a bad match up as it is. Diggs, Sanders, Beasely, Knox & Allen. They are going to tear up Bucs secondary. Shoot out or bust.

Yep we need Jenson.

Did you see Perriman played nearly 90% of the offensive snaps last week? I didn’t even notice him on the field at all. Wow do they need AB back. I assume they were only playing Perriman to run deep patterns to pull the safeties back and open underneath to Godwin — but if that was the case, why wouldn’t you put Miller out there instead? He must not be back to full speed since, while I’m not the biggest fan of Scotty, he has proven he can catch those deep balls from Brady compared to Perriman who has dropped his own chances on deep balls so far.

Jensen will play. Tough as nails

Normally I’d agree, but something is going on with their offense, there they’re just not doing much lately. Doesn’t mean they won’t against the Bucs 7th string corners, but they seem out of sync. Hopefully that lasts through Sunday.
But yeah, this team wins by scoring points, not by playing defense, and the Bills are probably the #2 defense in football behind the Pats. At the same time the Bucs are averaging something insane at home, like 39 points a game or something.

Listn, it could be worse.
Imagine facing Brady, Fournette, Jines, Gronk, Brate, Evans, Godwin & Miller…with an excellent OL.
I like the Buc chances in a shootout at home.

I have to wonder if the Pats broke The Bills will on Monday night. The Bills are more hot then cold than Irv’s detached hot tub and above ground pool. They scored a whopping 6 points vs Jax in Florida.

Cobra sorry but their secondary is pretty good grant it they lost beat corner but we have lost far more in the secondary. I would also take Beasley over Miller any day.
They are 2nd in D because like Bucs they force their opponents to be one dimentional. Every one keeps saying Pat’s ran all over them in reality they had one long drive and a 64 yd TD run, pretty much the rest of the game they stuffed them. Bill blew that game by dropped balls, bad coaching decisions and last minute bad QB reads. To summarize, Bill’s panicked. So to think Bucs are going to run it down their throats is not realistic. Shoot out or bust and Jensen is a major concern.

BA better not cut AB,.Randall Cobb from GB is out for the remainder of the season. Lafleur would pick AB up in a heart beat.

The Buffalo defensive secondary is one of the best in the league. They lost their outstanding CB Tre’Davious White for the season, but then the CB backing him up, Taron Johnson is pretty damn good.
Buffalo is a team you want to run against. Their run defense isn’t bad, it’s just average to slightly above average. Don’t be misled that just because New England ran over them that they’re easy. New England has one of the best run-blocking O lines in the league, and their two young ball carriers are very good. It’s going to be a battle, I sure hope Ryan Jensen suits up.
On offense, Buffalo has been running hot and cold all season. The question in everyone’s mind should be: “Will the real Josh Allen please stand up?” Allen is having trouble gaining consistency and building on last season. Part of that is due to the same defensive coverage that the Bucs are seeing, as teams are using high safeties which has stripped Allen of the long ball.
The best way to beat Allen is to play 2 high safeties and pressure him with a good pass rush. Allen does not have the best pocket presence, when time lapses in the pocket or after he’s been repeatedly pressured, Allen will start to look around to see if there’s pressure coming. That’s bad as he loses track of his receivers. Magnifying that problem is that Allen isn’t a fast processor when he surveys the field for a receiver afterward.
What I found weird about their loss to New England was their terrible coaching decisions. First off if you’re Buffalo you’re not going to beat the Patriots by matching their ground game. Second, why in the hell did they keep throwing longer passes in that wind? Third, why wasn’t Josh Allen attacking New England by using his legs? So many wasted opportunities for Buffalo.

Passing don’t forget the late 4th quarter challah ge on the QB sneak burning a timeout. Bill’s didn’t bring their big bodies in until 2/3 through the game. Did McDermott tag in BA for that game?

Too true, Listnfrmafar, too true.

If Danny Partridge (Jensen) can’t go, would Halnsey actually start at Center? Or would they move Marpet to C (he spent a whole year there) and start Leverett at LG (he did well coming in two weeks ago)?
Hmmm…..
December 9th, 2021 at 8:04 pm
I am really glad that his game is a home game and not in Buffalo.

Ali gets rotated to center if Jensen can’t go but it doesn’t sound very severe or probably would’ve heard by now. Who’s backup LG without Stinnie??? Hainsey???
December 10th, 2021 at 6:43 pm
Who is center? Isn’t the rookie injured?
If Marpet moves to Center, Stinnie is injured.

Just a few thoughts. This is the last game the Bucs play against a team with a winning record. They don’t play any cold weather games. The Panthers are in for a rough and tough ending for their season!
