Bruce Arians: Expect Jamel Dean To Be Cleared To Play Today

December 9th, 2021

The traumatic brain injury endured by Jamel Dean against the Falcons (yes, that’s what a concussion is) shouldn’t keep him out of the lineup.

On SiriusXM NFL Radio last night, Bucco Bruce Arians said Dean is expected to be cleared from the NFL’s concussion protocol today. The third-year corner did not participate in yesterday’s walk-through session at One Buc Palace.

Happy ending! The Bucs should have their top-3 corners on the field again Sunday.

Great, only to be injured in the 2nd series of the game!
Something’s better than nothing. Stay healthy Jamel.

Second series of the game? I fully expect him to walk into the glass entry door at One Buc Place knocking himself out.

  3. Bird Says:

Im afraid he will sneeze before the game and blow out his back

Dude has all the talent for a guy his size with his speed but lets face it. He Is soft and wont play dinged up. Coaches have even said the same
And likes to avoid contact whenever he can.

JD is becoming the ME of injuries.. in one minute out the next, back in right after the that.

  6. Defense Rules Says:

Jamel Dean has probably endured more injuries than most football players see in a lifetime. One of the gutsiest players in the NFL far as I’m concerned. The fact that he’s still as fast as he is amazes me.

JD signed with Ohio State as an early enrollee back in 2015, only to be medically disqualified due to multiple knee injuries he suffered in high school. Transferred to Auburn (had to sit out 2016) & put in 2 great years, despite having surgery on the other knee. Then proceeded to run the 2nd fastest (4.30 secs) 40-yd dash in the 2019 Combine. Gutsy.

Has had quite a few injuries with the Bucs, but keeps on tickin. Right now he’s dealing with not just the concussion but also the shoulder injury from 2 games ago. Bucs have to let guys like Dean, Whitehead & others heal up more if we expect to go anywhere in the playoffs.

I like Dean, he could be really good but every now and then has a mental lapse or something and the kid seems kind of fragile. I’m not saying his injuries aren’t real he just seems to go down every game with something

  8. Medicated Pete Says:

This game is so crucial. We gotta win come hell or high water

  9. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

LMAO! All 3 on the field for what, 5 minutes before one of them goes down again? Ok…maybe 10 minutes if we get the ball first on offense.

    Agree with Defense Rules !
Hope he gets his $ on 2nd contract and hopefully it’s with the Bucs !

We can’t understand the value of drafting and developing depth in the secondary. NFL is setup for pasting and it is a long season.

Turf toe from a divot is his next injury. I loved that blowing out his back one, that was funny! I think he’s trying to get as many as he can in one season
