Nine Guys Who Love The Bucs’ Draft

Joe wonders whether the Bucs not drafting an offensive lineman means there are high expectations for Arron Sears.
Joe’s wants to share some happiness.
Here’s a group of nine who’s probably drinking champagne or sleeping soundly right now:
9. Sabby The Goat – He’s grazing comfortably about now. The Bucs didn’t try and replace him. Joe’s not suprised. All along Joe was confident Raheem The Dream would keep his plan to “fix” Sabby The Goat in time for 2010.
8. King of Turds – Call Joe an unforgiving ass, but Joe always roots for the Bucs to cut Jerramy Stevens, aka King of Turds. No tight end in this draft means he’s coming back — again. Joe wonders, if Stevens is so valuable, why haven’t the Bucs figured out how to use him?
7. Stylez White – By only drafting a defensive end with their final seventh round pick, the Bucs eliminated all doubt that White would enter a season as the starting right end for the first time. And it’s a contract year for him to boot. Plus, the Bucs added two manbeasts in the middle of the line. What more could White have asked for? White’s got to get double-digit sacks, and the Bucs desperately need him to stay healthy. Stylez is taking this opportunity very seriously, so he told Joe.
6. Kyle Moore – Immediately following the draft, when asked why the Bucs didn’t draft a left defensive end with great promise, Raheem The Dream responded by praising Moore’s offseason preparation and improvement late in 2009. The Bucs passed on Jimmy Wilkerson in free agency, didn’t draft a top defensive end and obviously have Moore and Tim Crowder targeted to fight it out at left end and/or backup Stylez White. Moore has to be happy he didn’t get the Roy Miller treatment in this draft.
5. Kareem Huggins – Dominik passed on a running back, thereby letting Raheem The Dream have an easier path to the roster for his Hostra boy on the practice squad. Huggins looked good at running back in preseason last year before a minor knee injury. With Clifton Smith returning from concussions, Joe’s guessing Smith’s not going to get many, if any, carries in 2010.
4. Michael Clayton haters – The blocking icon’s chances of making the final roster went from about 80 percent to 20 percent in a matter of hours.
3. Josh Freeman – His spouse, the head coach, didn’t let him down.
2. Arron Sears – While Sears remains under lock and key and shrouded in a cone of silence at One Buc Palace, the Bucs didn’t draft an offensive lineman. Perhaps they were fearful Sears would need to wear a helmet year-round if they did. Or perhaps Sears is coming along very well and the Bucs expect him back at full strength.

Another man very happy right now is Barret Ruud. With two “manbeasts” taking on multiple blockers up front he should now be free to make many of his tackles at or behind the line of scrimmage.

As Steve White pointed out on his blog, we need a tight end who can BLOCK if we want to run the ball effectively. This draft was very good overall, IMHO. But the draft was so deep, there were a lot of un drafted players we are going to be looking at. Maybe we will find a few sleepers, to add to this draft class ?

Dominick wants no part of Blount.Bodes well for Hugggins.
Sears must be ready or the OL would have been upgraded.

Not so sure the Goat should be all that comfortable.
We did draft a strong safety (Grimm) and
traded for Sean Jones. Looks like the Goat
will be grazing on the sidelines next year to me
unless he can play special teams.
Also like the possible signing of Rico Mccoy…
thought he was very impressive for Tennessee this
year.

The Bucs just signed QB Jevan Snead from Mississippi. Nice signing! It’ll be interesting to see what Raheem decides to do with him.

Cody Grimm is no threat to Sabby…Corey Lynch is a bigger threat. I’d never defend how Sabby has grossly misinterpreted our defense but our new D-Line is going to make EVERYONE BETTER, even the “Goat”. I’m a little disappointed by the end of our draft, but trading two 7 round picks for a 5th next year was an incredible deal.
Mark Dominik is completely under appreciated in this town. That guy has had the balls to clean a house full of veterans and has completed his second above par draft. He’s a decent judge of talent. I think it’s time for ALL BUCS FANS to get on board and actually support the team, instead of being Negative Nancies…

From what I saw…Chucky loved the Arrelious Benn pick. Spoke glowingly of the player and the bucs for making the pick.

I think every single player that was drafted will be able to contribute in one way or another. You really can’t ask for much more than that. Great draft, a foundation is being laid.

Seems this asshole registered his e-mail address as Miki Parks, the director of sales for Clear Channel. Joe believes its a safe bet that this isn’t Miki Parks.
Only the anal or constipated or thin-skinned believe Joe’s a joke. So which category are you (ahem)… “Miki?”
Besides, Joe assumes Miki is aware of all the good things Joe has done for Clear Channel. If “Miki” isn’t aware of this, Mike Killebrew, head hocho for Clear Channel in Tampa certainly is, as do the promotions staff of Clear Channel.

Joe, shy don’t you get off Sears back. As you are awate, many sources think Sears was suffering from clinical depression last year and that was why he didn’t play. This is a very personal illness, but it is still an illness that wasn’t caused by a weak character or poor personal life choices. For that reason, why don’t you get off his back and quit making cracks about it. When Sears wants to let you into his personal life, I’m sure he’ll let you know. Apparetnly his employers are compassionate enough to do the same. In the mean time, you had better hope God doesn’t have an ironic sence of humor.

You know this how? Are you an intimate of Sears? Has he spoken about this publicly that Joe is unaware of?
By Sears playing hide-and-seek, he is doing nothing but reinforcing every negative stereotype about chemical imbalances (if that truly is the issue) and the like. Until he addresses a medical condition publicly, or the Bucs issue a release — which (without Sears’ permission) could result in the feds coming down on them i.e. HIPAA violations (has little to do with “compassion”) — as far as Joe knows Sears ran away because of an ingrown toenail.

Joe you are just sooooo insensitive. I heard from “good sources” that Sears was suffering from chronic athlete’s foot and halitosis.
It was so bad that the other men in the locker room called him “stinky Sears”.

Joe love your board. Please please back off the Depression. Unless you have placed the gun to the side of your head you’ll never understand. It is not something someone makes a public statement about. If you studied a little bit the wrighting of answers to his teamates instead of speaking just might be the BIG hint you need.

Topdoggie – Please wake up. Joe has brought up the Sears situation before.
Joe is actually looking out for Sears and would love to see the Bucs and Sears issue a simple statement about Sears’ situation so it will go away from the media and fans’ interest. ..What happens at training camp or OTAs (in a matter of weeks) when Sears is in front of the media, or fans? Will the Bucs need to protect him from questions? Can they protect him? Is he even still fragile and need coddling? Joe’s not confident the Bucs are going to play this right FOR SEARS, not for Joe.
Somebody needs to say something, even a two sentence statement. Joe would even help the Bucs craft a bullet-proof comment.
Sears, from Joe’s seat, would be better served to not have to keep in the back of his mind that someday he’ll be put on the spot.
Get it out in the open now — in the tinyest most sheltered way – and it will die and Sears won’t have it hanging over his head. ..
Joe doesn’t want the first questions Sears hears about this to be from a heckler at training camp or in Miami for the first preseason game.
Get out in front of it, Bucs!

Watching Raheem run our team into the ground last year gave me Clinical Depression. I will probabbly be suicidal by the actual sinking of our ship at 4-12 by the end of the year. Do any of you Raheem lovers feel sorry for me? No, I didn’t think so!
