Ndamukong Suh Not Showing His Age Either

We all marvel at how Tom Brady, 44, plays quarterback like some dude almost 20 years younger.
Think about it: Who looked like the older quarterback yesterday in Atlanta, Brady or Matty Ice (36)?
Well, the Bucs have a guy on defense sort of pulling his own Brady magic. And that is defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. He may not be the full beast he once was but he’s still damn good. The thing that freaks Joe out is here is Suh has only missed two games in his 12-year career That came in 2011, when he served a two-game suspension for stomping on then-Packers center Evan Dietrich-Smith.
For a defensive lineman to only miss two games in 12 years (involuntarily) is just nuts.
Despite turning 35 in January, an old man for a defensive lineman, Suh’s two sacks yesterday demonstrated he’s got a lot of gas left in the tank.
Suh noted that he and the rest of his fellow defensive linemen put additional pressure on themselves knowing that when the Bucs’ defense is struggling on third downs as it did yesterday, they need to produce sacks.
“We call it situational football,” Suh said. “We got to find ways to get off the football field on third down, especially when we struggled sometimes in the first and second down.
“It’s big for us to make sure we get off on the third down. It’s important for us inside [interior of the defense] to be a part of that. We got to continue to do that, especially in these next five games.”
Joe likes how Suh gets to a quarterback and just shoves him down to avoid getting flagged for hitting too hard. A man playing with boys.
To see an old man like Suh ball out in December football is very satisfying. Demonstrates he’s not on fumes.

It was good to see Suh and Vita step up because in the first quarter they were getting pushed back off the ball, especially that first drive when they ran it down their throats.
After that, especially the second half, it was much much better

Suh has been a man’s man since his days at Nebraska. Playing for a contender as given him new life. Now complimenting this #93 vs his predecessor who made more than $100 million of the Glazers loot is not a sleight at McCoy and/or his “Robin”/fanboy Hot Rod Mulch. It’s simply an acknowledgement of Suh’s greatness. Grrreatness!

I hear a lot of kvetching about how bad our D was yesterday.
5 sacks, 2 turnovers and only 10 pts allowed. That is a good day.

Vilma was super annoying yesterday during the game. He was horrible. That first drive. Oh Atlanta’s found something on that left side. Threw little jabs whenever he could.

sb^^^ good job, i completely agree!! i came away from the game yesterday thinking the defense played great. As bad as they have been this year, this is one of their better performances. the days of the 2000s bucs and rave?ns defenses are over. its a scoring league. good to see davis back! Hope smb is ok.

One of the 3rd down stops yesterday was from a Suh sack. As he was coming off the field he was yelling and had that old “crazy eye” look from back in the day when he was kicking lineman! 😂 He was ready to go yesterday!

With Vea and Suh we are winning the trenches almost every game. I think some Buc’s fans are getting spoiled but these guys have been deserving credit every game.

I always supported and defended GMC when he was here and throughout the years I thought the difference between Suh and GMC was not very much. Now that Suh is here I think it’s evident how much better he is and probably has been throughout their careers. GMC is done but Suh is still playing at a high level.

I love Suh and JPP, so the obvious question for me is who has been the better pickup by Licht? Is it being a wuss to say it’s a tie? I mean, they have both been outstanding!
