Mark Dominik Goes Gambling

April 24th, 2010

Joe seems to agree with his good friend Justin Pawlowski, of WDAE-AM 620, (Joe trusts you are listening to Justin while reading Joe). This is a low risk-high reward kind of a pick.

Mike Williams has loads of skills but a few question marks about his character issues. The main one being he quit on his team last year, a damning move.

Joe is trying to be objective here. Syracuse stinks out loud. For whatever reason, Williams had no real desire to take advantage of such a fantastic university. Classes were not a priority as he was suspended for academic reasons in 2008.

For theĀ previous picks, Bucs general manager had a clear template: smart guys, good guys, hardcore football players with heart. Perhaps Arrelious Benn’s work ethic will rub off on Williams and that getting paid (handsomely) to play football will motivate Williams.

Given the fact the Bucs have two guys now that can stretch the field, and that Sammie Stroughter would be a fantastic possession receiver, Joe wonders if maybe the Bucs are devaluing the need for a receiver that can block but had a nasty habit of not hanging onto the ball?

So who do we think has trade value to get back into the 4th or 5th rounds with packaged 7th rounders? The only ones I can think of, and they’re big stretches, are Clayton, Stovall, and Hovan. Maybe someone will take a flyer on Arron Sears and we can draft Carter.

    Well, shit. There goes Wooten.

Not knocking this kid but why take a chance on him when Jacoby Ford was sitting there ripe for the picking with speed to burn??

  5. Radio Mushmouth Says:

I like the pick. Williams has game.

We are stuck with no solid DE now thanks to our idiotic 2nd round pick of a back-up for McCoy , but the rest of the draft has been good I think.

Him and Talib are gonna become great buddies.
I want to hear Williams, Talib and Raheem all together in a press conference… That would be one hellava conversation… And a discrace to the English language.

Now I guess we don’t have to worry about getting Freeman to lower his throws anymore right? šŸ˜‰

Don’t like this guy at all. Jacoby Ford and Carlton Mitchell were still available.
