“Probably Their Poorest Performance Of The Year Together”
November 17th, 2021The Buccaneers’ supermen edge rushers found a new superpower on Sunday in Washington: invisibility.
But it wasn’t the good kind like Wonder Woman pulls off.
Jason Pierre-Paul (broken fingers & torn rotator cuff) looked like a shell of himself. And Shaq Barrett was swallowed up all day by WTF left tackle Charles Leno, Jr.
No punches were pulled by Bucco Bruce Arians when he was asked on Bucs Total Access what he saw from his dynamic outside linebackers do on Sunday.
“Probably their poorest performance of the year together,” Arians said of JPP and Shaq. “Just wasn’t what I expected from them. We gotta have better from them.”
Arians continued his candor when he was asked to name the defensive strong points in the game.
“Not much. Not much,” Arians replied. “I mean collectively there were moments when we were really good [defensively] when we had 11 guys playing hard and fast and physical. But not enough, not enough to win, not in this league.”

sidenote, whose going to watch the manningcast instead of the main ESPN broadcast?

Devin White has been largely hamstrung by helping out the secondary according to coaches. Obviously not his strong suit. I think with a healthy secondary he continues to put up performances like he did this past weekend. Granted, perhaps the secondary needed more help from him. Or something.

TL;DR Bucs D-line sucked on Sunday, says coach.

Yes. This was my assessment of our Def in this game. Practically nothing from Shaq or JPP. I hope it gets turned around.

Me thinks there’s a lot of tape on these guys now combined with JPP age and SB never was the pro bowl 50 million dollar player every Buc fan thinks he is. The backups looked better.

The offense has to be running like a well oiled machine for us to do anything. Last post-season, the defense helped us. Very scary & interesting next 2 months

The only way the Bucs beat the Giants is if they treat it like the superbowl of 2021 otherwise we will be beat and it will be blamed on the secondary and injuries throughout the team

Wake up call and the beginning of another run at the SB, or the beginning of the end? We shall see on Monday night. These guys have officially been called out by coaches, media and fans. This game is and always has been about how you respond. If they still want to be champions they’ll punish the Giants. Go Bucs!

The real problem was the scheme. Bowles needed the line to back off and support the DBs. When they weren’t doing that, they were supposed to make sure Heinecke didn’t run a sweep.
That left them out of position for any play at all. The entire rush was a delayed rush by White or Winfield.

Send JTS instead of using him to spy and cover

yet coach Larry Foote stated in a press conference that the guys with the biggest paychecks play first and Joe Tryon has to sit the bench and wait till JPP is unable to take the field. Seems like a really stupid comment. Hate to say it Bucs lose to Giants. Coaches like this are why.

It’s a shame that this team put themselves in such terrible position. If they won that game like they were supposed to we’d have a nice cushioning the division. Now they’re facing a must win game at home.
The whole team sucked in the Washingtom game. We all acknowledge that. What’s not being acknowledged by the fan base is the fact that this defense can’t stop ANYBODY. And that makes this game next Monday a must win. God help them if the Bucs lose that one too.

It’s bad when fans can see that it’s time to put JPP on a snap count but instead coaches choose to play him like crazy and instead put Vea on a snap count and not adjust when the team is getting run on with the game on the line.

Tryon may become a starter in the future but for now he too often takes himself out of position. He should be a rotational player for now until he develops more than a speed rush. Actually I would like to see the best 2 or three back up D line players get more reps. Especially later in the games.

MNF -Giants win 24-20 let the frustration continue

If the Bucs lose Monday night, it is the beginning of the end, like the Bucs losing to the Colts on MNF.
