Ronald Jones Is Not In Bruce Arians’ Doghouse
November 15th, 2021Don’t worry, Bucs backup/sometimes starting running back Ronald Jones isn’t on Bruce Arians’ craplist.
RoJo had a grand total of one snap and no carries yesterday in the ugly loss at Washington. That seemed to suggest that for reasons unknown, RoJo was in the Bucs’ Super Bowl-winning coach’s doghouse.
Nope, Arians said today in his day-after presser. RoJo is in good standing.
Asked why RoJo only saw the field once when the offense was sputtering so badly and if RoJo’s virtual absence was planned, Arians chuckled throughout his answer.
“No, we only had 40 snaps,” Arians said. The Bucs actually had 47 snaps from scrimmage.
“So there weren’t that many [snaps] to go around. I hope hoping to get him more action, for sure. Normally we are up there with 65, 70 snaps. Then [RoJo] would get them.”
Joe doesn’t doubt Arians here. If Joe was going to be hypercritical, Joe would wonder if the Bucs were in control, would RoJo have seen the field more before the Bucs reached Snap No. 47?
Arians seemed upfront. RoJo isn’t locked in anyone’s kennel.

So .. until we dont run 100 plays in offense we get rojo going ?

Next game, just run the ball 60 times. Pete doesn’t trust anyone in the passing game right now.

The Bucs were obviously trying to shop him but never received that “extraordinary offer”. No one was lining up to make an extraordinary offer on a backup RB who was on the last year of a rookie deal.

After that SERIOUS hit Brady took on that first or second drive. Something was wrong with Brady. They should have went with two backs or just decided to RUN RUN Screen.
Brady fell hard on that shoulder. Go back and check it out @Joe. Im surprised you have not written a speculative article on that hit on Brady yet. It was by far the hardest hit I have ever seen Brady take

Really wish they get more snaps for Giovani Bernard. He can legit carry the football too, but He’s just wasting away on the bench.

Don’t buy it. Arians doesn’t want to embarrass RoJo.
If it was RoJo that dropped the 1st quarter pass instead of Fournette, he would’ve been pulled immediately. Fournette stayed in the game.

Buccaneer coaches IQ’s must have dropped precipitously in the off season , because in their 4 game playoff blitz last season offense had almost PERFECT BALANCE at 50% Pass and 50% Run.
Buccaneers have two main receiving cogs out in Gronk and AB. Our RB corps is at full strength and one would rationally believe that due to these immutable facts that we would RUN THE DAMN BALL at least 50% of the time.
BA and BL need to get their heads out of their asses and start RUNNING THE DAMN BALL MORE. The defense was totally gassed at the end of the game due to the lopsided time of possession. Stop wearing out your defense and being so FREAKING PREDICTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh good- nothing is wrong with RoJo, our coach and coordinators just have their heads up their @sses

This is a head coach that brags about not being part of any of the weekly game planning, so why does anybody care what his thoughts are about what happens on game day? He’s a spectator with a head set on.

bucs could easily loose to nyg, colts , & bills later… and with looney tunes back with Panthers who beat cards ; there may not b playoff run…….
I agree; something is not right in the locker room . 2 more losses and we’ll kno

So, we had like 13 rushing attempts, right? In a game where we were never “out of”, a QB who looked “off” and an ailing defense.
Lenny had a 4+ YPC average on eleven of those 13.
Hmm!
I wonder how you protect a QB who’s not having the best day?!
Any thoughts on how to increase TOP and number of plays overall?!
Did I mention 4+ yards per carry?!

Well he must have a ball delivery problem. Why else would you keep throwing the ball to the side line And behind the line of scrimmage?
Even after the Skins new exactly what was coming.
They give up on run.

On WFT final drive, Heinicke was 6-6 passing.
The other 13 plays were all runs- including 4 straight runs on 1st and goal from the 9.
So much hype for the feared Run D….
WFT had a balanced game plan and they stuck with it.
Bucs game plan seemed to be- if WR covered on short routes, checkdown.
If Bernard is getting rushing attempts and pass targets and RoJo can’t get in the game, don’t BS me with “we didn’t have enough offensive plays”

Well when you are down 2 scores the whole game it is difficult to maintain a balanced attack.

A deflection. Since when does the number of snaps determine the plays that should be called, or the adjustments that need to be made? On the other hand, if BL and BA were that “dumb” (“hmmm…we’re on play number 30, and RoJo doesn’t come in until 46…”), then what can we say.
RoJo is a more explosive back than Lenny will ever be. Maybe RoJo would have changed the course of the game with one play.

Last night the 49ers stayed committed to the run. If they had no gain, or lost yardage it didn’t matter. They took the will right out of the Rams defense. The Bucs right now have no identity on offense, or defense. Come out running, or come out passing, but stick with it.
