Breshad Perriman Returns To The Home Of His Success

Unless something drastic happens — and Joe hopes it does right here in the Tampa Bay area — Bucs receiver Breshad Perriman will always be known as a former first round pick who had little success and bounced from team to team.
Hey, it still beats being the customer service manager at a big box store.
The most success Perriman had was when the speedy receiver was forced into the No. 1 receiver role late in the 2019 season because of injuries to Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. That season also happened to be Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians’ first with the Bucs.
With Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, slinging the rock, Perriman finished the final three games of the season with four touchdowns and 349 yards receiving.
Smartly, he chased money after his best success. You know, sell high. He got paid by the Jets but his numbers cratered.
Picked up this week by the Bucs after the Bears released him, Perriman said remembering success with Arians and offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich was foremost on his mind.
“That was definitely a good run,” Perriman said of his 2019 season. “Coming back here just felt good. It feels like the right thing and the right place for me.
“It was just a great feeling to come in and see everybody’s faces. There is nothing but good energy here, so I am really happy and blessed to be back.”
Joe can certainly understand that. The Jets are the Jets and people in Chicago are screaming for a housecleaning. Here, the Bucs are as stable as can be.
Perriman added the only thing different in his return that he can tell is that now he’s catching passes from salad-bar-hating, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller-coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved, helmet-tossing, football-punting, Bucs-Super-Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady.
And Perriman admits he has to check himself sometimes to make sure he’s not dreaming of catching passes from the Brady.
“I feel like it’s what I’ve been seeing all along – game in and game out, he’s going to put the ball on the money every single time,” Perriman said. “That’s what he is known for and when you come out here and see it in person, it’s kind of crazy. It’s kind of like a ‘wow’ factor.”
Joe is damn near ready to lay cash that Perriman will have as big of an impact with the Bucs as cancerous Odell Beckham will have with whatever sap team takes him in (please Beckham, sign with the slimy Saints and blow that team up). Joe found the report amusing that one team Beckham wanted to play for, the Packers, offered him the veteran league minimum salary.
As of this writing, Beckham said he’s going to take a few days to mull offers. That’s code for, “No one is offering me what I deserve.”

Perriman’s numbers tanking was a consequence of playing with Sam Darnold and the hapless Jets. I used to think Darnold was a good QB in a bad situation. Darnold ended up being a first round bust just like Jay-Miss. He’s never played with a QB that is accurate and gets the ball out quickly.

AB and Gronk are probably out long term. So the young guys have to step it up. Won’t have Godwin this week either by the looks of things.
Looks like the injury bug that that the DBs had the first half of the season has now spread to the receivers.

glad he’s back…
with brady he should be even better if he gets in on some quality real game time…
he got paid, yes…but in the process he probably traded money for a superbowl ring…

much safer move than odell, with less learning curve…and less need of a master chef to blend in a “huge huge ego and tude”mid season…
imagine odell and AB go off the deep end simultaneously – lol – could have caused madness behind the scenes

I still think not getting obj is a mistake… they better hope godwin stays and I’m not confident because they should already have came to terms on his new contract.

perriman is a perfect “patchwork guy”…
as long as you have one of the big three receivers playing relatively injury free, with a tyler johnson, a perriman….then scotty and darden….you’re fine
then just throw in a tom brady and you are waaaaay more than just fine

I’m not sold he’s the answer and letting the rams get strong under are noses…very bad move from my perspective..von Miller n obj are both problems if they catch fire.
The rams have are number..beat us the last 3x we played them
.. they keep getting better and well we signed back perriman and players get injured awesomeness -sarcasm- for the slow people
