Biggest key is our OLine. We have struggled against their passrush for basically over a decade…..But I now consider our OL elite and to give Brady time to work.
If they do that we put up points, we go up by 2 scores and the Saint no longer have an offense that can play from behind.

Francisco – I’ve always liked Winston, to be clear I was 100% behind the Brady signing, you don’t pass on the GOAT, but with Winston you blitz him trying to get him to make a big mistake. If you do this all day, he will make some mistakes sooner or later. Yes, you will give up big plays, but as long as our offense does its job, we’ll be fine.

You don’t need to spy Winston, he’s not a running QB, but he’s going to take what you give him. If the middle of the line keeps their lanes, and don’t get pushed outside, he’s not going to run – or it will be on the edge for short yardage.
With that said Aikman saying he ran a 5.0 and saying he’s slow is just stupid. First, he ran a 4.97, also he’s lost probably 30lbs from then. You can watch him move and know he’s not a slow runner.

Our OL have given Brady what he needs. His turnovers are the difference here. I expect him to feel that pressure on the fumble and the pick was a rare terrible throw……And he missed Mike wide open for a TD.

It wasn’t just the hold on Godwin on the pick, it was the hold, for literally 8 yards down the field, of Tyler Johnson, that’s why the other corner was there, the guy grabbed Johnson off the line and just held him all the way down the field, then other corner on Godwin yanked him down as well.
It’s literally one of the worst non-calls I’ve ever seen in my life, ever. And as a Bucs fan, there’s literally thousands of terrible calls I’ve seen over the years.
Arians should have punched the refs in the face for that, or at least had some practice squad player do it for him.

The only positive note is…
1. I’m one of the few people around here who actually said I was really worried about this game. Also said before the year started they lose this game. So praise me.
2. The old stand-by, the Bucs are 0-4 against the Saints in the regular season in years they win the SB.
Also, it’s still very likely the Bucs end up win the division. If they do, I have a gut feeling they’re going to face the Saints in the 1st round. I will assume the Bucs beat the Saints at home, probably handily, and if the Bucs won this game, then won the next, I personally don’t like the idea of trying to go 3-0 vs Payton on the year.
Get the team healthy on the bye, get a voodoo doll of the refs, and make sure the Bucs don’t lose to Washington, which I also had them losing in my preseason schedule.

I like to beatup Leftwich, but there’s only so many things you can do on 3rd and 14, and we’re had a remarkable amount of success with that WR screen. With 12-mins to go, I think it’s fine, you don’t want a big negative play there and you expect your defense to get another stop.

This ultimately falls on Todd Bowles face. His weak soft undisciplined defense failed and failed against another QB that can’t complete a pass. The refs were atrocious but this team was incredibly undisciplined especially on Todd’s side. That still was not a hold on Cockrell. It just wasn’t. It was a bailout call in a long line of bailout calls.

Our D and specially Mr Bowles needs to stop believing they are the second coming of the 80’s Bears and actually start playing. They had a good stretch at the end of last year. Forget about all else. Saints had the ball down 1 and the undisciplined defense gave them a first down on a stupid offsides. That penalty was legit and dumb. The defense failed when they should have been pumped up. Brady was a letdown on that last drive trying to get it all on one play for some dumb reason.

For all those pissin & moanin about how bad the defense was, Saints’ QBs were 22-of-39 (56.4%) for 215 passing yards. Bucs’ turnovers led to 7 pts directly (the Pick-6) plus 2 short fields that ended up in Saints scoring 10 more pts. The 3 TOs & 11 penalties (for 99 yds) were the real story of the game. We gifted them the win.

Well I was expecting a season split with the Saints, so losing on the road is about par for the course. They’re well-coached and a very good defensive team.

Ross Cockrell is a major reason for this loss. 3rd & 5 and we’re getting of the field. They would have had to make a fairly long field goal at that point. But Ross (who gets paid very good money) forgets what no contact past 5 yards gives the saints new life.
