Derrick Brooks Picks The Saints! (And He’s Serious)
October 31st, 2021What’s going on here?
It’s another can’t-miss TAMPA TWO episode with Buccaneers legend Derrick Brooks and The Sage of Tampa Bay Sports, Ira Kaufman. All the fun is courtesy of The Identity Tampa Bay and Joe.

@Derrick Brooks Picks The Saints! (And He’s Serious)
———————-
no surprise there… he was the biggest JW promoters, FSU to the death fan.
is hard to see yourself being wrong for 5 years, and telling people year after year that “we going to be ok”, but in fact we got worst.
This is his revenge (” i told you so ” kind of thing).
He is going to be wrong AGAIN.
Bucs will win, we got the best QB on the game, and we trying to win the SB again….so we MUST win, right???
October 29th, 2021 at 2:51 pm
Keep the pressure on Winston, stop Kamara and Ingram and the Bucs win. I think our O line will matches up well with the Saints D line and this time around Evans gets the best of Lattimore. Brady is out for revenge also, it’s just not Jameis.
October 29th, 2021 at 2:58 pm
This is not going to be an easy game for the Bucs. In the playoff game it took a 4 turnover game for the Bucs to win. Might need another 4 turnovers to win this week.
October 29th, 2021 at 3:08 pm
I mean the bucs have to show up against the saints. Bucs defense has to step up. No slow starts. Bucs are better than the saints period. Have to show it on the field.
October 29th, 2021 at 3:24 pm
FSU HOMER!
October 29th, 2021 at 3:31 pm
What worries me …
The Bucs can get outcoached. Sean Payton and Sean McVay have shown us how great coaches can out game plan the Bucs.
A W/L comes down to how seriously the Bucs coaches take this game. They’ve sleepwalked through the last few and may be feeling a little invincible.
I guarantee the Saints coaches will be putting something special together for the Bucs.
October 29th, 2021 at 3:33 pm
This isn’t the same Saint’s team…..for the exception of their first game vs the Packers, the Saint’s have struggled……Lost badly to the Panthers 26-7 and were beaten at home vs the Giants……
It will still be close but Tom Brady won’t let us lose.
October 29th, 2021 at 3:34 pm
If we can’t beat the Saints this weekend, might as well fold up the tent and start watching the lightning. No chance to reach the SB again if we can’t, against at least three or four teams better than the Saints, playing on their fields in the playoffs.
October 29th, 2021 at 3:43 pm
So Derriclk…you think the Packer fans would take their team seriously if they couldn’t beat the Bears in four in season games straight? So we shouldn’t take this team seriously if we can’t beat the Saints, I guess? The Saints have a better coach…. I’ll leave it at that.
October 29th, 2021 at 3:48 pm
Brady’s fairytale season is due for some drama. Cue it up this weekend. Saints are not better, and they will not stop us from making the playoffs, but Jaymiss Winsnot is going to go off this Sunday against us.
October 29th, 2021 at 3:52 pm
@ mark
I’m glad the Bucs didn’t have your attitude last year…
FYI – we lost to the Saints twice in 2020 and still won the SB.
October 29th, 2021 at 3:58 pm
Bucs 27 Saints 17.
October 29th, 2021 at 4:06 pm
Marine.. I’m sure glad I’m not you, either. Can’t imagine much worse.
Let me detail this for you, as to why this is such a big game.
1. You prove you can’t beat the Saints in the regular season. And you have to bury those bad strings for so many reasons,
2. You fall behind three other teams in homefield throughout the playoffs.
3. You lose going into the bye week…and no..it isn’t like last year.
4. Your division lead goes to one half game. It is a division loss. It is a conference loss. And if you don’t win the division, wildcard throughout the playoffs most likely.
5. This year in the playoffs, home teams will have a major advantage in communications and such… something we didn’t really have to deal with last year.
Every game is important.. but this could easily be the biggest regular season game this year. Without a doubt.
October 29th, 2021 at 4:14 pm
Exactly why I don’t want him anywhere near this team . If he was coaching or in the office. We are already minus a team he was involved with.
October 29th, 2021 at 4:24 pm
I expect Jameis to have a 4 touchdown passing day. 2 to Kamara, 1 to Jamal Dean and 1 to Devon White.
October 29th, 2021 at 4:29 pm
“Aceofaerospace Says:

hahahahahaha. If we can get pressure on him, you might be right. I would like to think that our coaching staff knows a thing or two on what spooks Winston to throw ints.
October 29th, 2021 at 4:35 pm
I wasn’t too worried after I saw the Saint’s last game, and I still think we may beat them but I am VERY concerned that they got Ingram back. He and Kamara used to have an incredible chemistry and friendship when they played together. Like Lavonte and Devon they fed off each other and made each other better in most every game that I saw. I am half-filled with trepidation, now because Ingram may help this team play better than they have.
October 29th, 2021 at 4:55 pm
Aceofaerospace may be on to something.
TB12 overthrew a few receivers in Foxborough this year.
If being too pumped up can happen to the GOAT, imagine how hyper Jameis is gonna be.
But the Bucs have a long history of stinking on Halloween weekend.
October 29th, 2021 at 5:04 pm
Some of you guys hate for Jameis makes you look like total complete fools. Now you want to attack Derrick Brooks ie the greatest buc of all time? You morons are truly stupid. Derrick Brooks have called buc predictions for years since his retirement all the way back to his days with the big dog. And you want to attack him for picking the Saints and call him a fsu homer? Brooks would pick against the bucs when Jameis was HERE you MORONS!!! The man has always called it like HE sees it. Tough it does not jibe with your opinion. Your hate for one man makes your minds complete BS!!!
October 29th, 2021 at 5:38 pm
I suspect the DL push up the middle on the Saints OL will be really interesting.
October 29th, 2021 at 5:59 pm
Are morons supposed to be smart?
I’m a bit perplexed…….lil’ guy
October 29th, 2021 at 6:00 pm
Seems many here are preparing for a loss.
If you can’t beat the Saints who are lead by Jameis on the road, how are we going to win when we have to go on the road to LA or Arizona in the playoffs? We likely won’t. I assure you that the Rams and Cards are a LOT better than the Saints.
This isn’t like last year where there stadiums were mostly empty and home field didn’t matter much.
October 29th, 2021 at 6:01 pm
Brooks is not the greatest Buc if all-time.
He’s one of them along with Lee Roy, Lynch and Sapp
October 29th, 2021 at 6:14 pm
@webster winston: the opposite of love is not hate.
The opposite of love is indifference.
Really, we don’t care about your idol, America’s Turnover Machine. I only despise him 6 hours a year, 9 at most. That’s it.
The rest of the time I couldn’t care less.
I think no less of ATM than I do any other QB the Bucs face. I’m just glad he’s eating W’s somewhere else…
October 29th, 2021 at 6:19 pm
Doosh being perplexed surprises NO ONE!!!! You’re an idiot and its clearly obvious
October 29th, 2021 at 6:24 pm
The only way in hell the saints have a shot to beat us is if Brady gets hurt or Jeff George’s love child has one of his good games against us. He’s good for 2-3 good games a year and if he gets hot, it’s gonna be a nail biter.
October 29th, 2021 at 6:24 pm
FSU boys gotta hang together.
The Saints have two rookies on their offensive line, that might lead to some mismatches, on the inside.
It might also allow more uncontested defenders around the outside corner. Jameis will be sweating, even though the weather will be some of our best.
If LVD is in, Kamara will be a non-factor long enough for us to be ahead and putting different pressure on Jameis.
October 29th, 2021 at 6:25 pm
Bring back d Jax what do you say joe lol
October 29th, 2021 at 6:50 pm
I agree with SlyPirate – Sean Payton and Sean McVay have out coached the Bucs. I wouldn’t bet this game – its going to be tight. Until I see something different from the Bucs O against the Saints D – I could see why anyone would pick the Saints. Plus, X-Buc QBs have killed us in the past…
GO Bucs! Lets turn things around against the Saints!
October 29th, 2021 at 6:57 pm
Easy win
October 29th, 2021 at 6:57 pm
It not an easy game and nothing crazy about picking the Saints at home……..Forget the Saints offense for a second, just look at what there defense has done to us over the last few years(or decades if you wanna torture yourself).
Now I do like our chanses because our OLine has grown and is much more elite then when they beat us last year. I think our line takes care of business and we get the W……..But if their passrush starts getting to Brady in that 1st series or 2 this is not going to be the cakewalk yall are talking about.
October 29th, 2021 at 7:18 pm
Don’t see a cakewalk…but see it as one of the real “must win” games if we want to get to the “catbird” seat we want to be in at the end of the year. Of course, the ultimate “must win” game is the one that puts you into the playoffs… in addition to the last game of the season.
October 29th, 2021 at 7:21 pm
FSU HOMER 🤣
October 29th, 2021 at 7:25 pm
@”nothing crazy about picking the Saints at home…”
—————-
absolutely, when the pick is done by a bookie, by a saint fan, or by a Bucs hater.
..but become crazy when a Bucs analyst, that happen to be a bucs player, that happen to witness the best bucs team maybe ever, with the best QB ever..!!!
picked Saint??!! did you watch them with Seahawks??
So by logic and by heart is only one answer : Bucs win.
They may lose, but there is no analytic to sustain that prediction…. DB is just jealous.
I never experience Ronde to say: Bucs are going to lose
Brooks vs Ronde , what a big difference….
October 29th, 2021 at 7:56 pm
I pick the Bucs.
October 29th, 2021 at 8:10 pm
Crazy thats nonsense to say theres onky one answer. You say its ok for a bookie to have an open opinion……But any Bucs analyst should pick the Bucs?…….So, we are all different and thats not what i want from an analyst.
For me its simple. The Saints not only beat us, they ripped us apart last year. Twice. We had no answers for their defense. That fact alone tells me this isnt going to be a game with only one logical conclusion like you say.
But you bring up analytics like you must have some stat to show you why……So i found one for you very easily………..Saint got #2 scoring defense……Bucs have #2 scoring offense. Im not a big enough nerd to look up all the matchups to see which side #2 vs #2 favors but Im guessing its pretty close to 50/50……….Id also guess that in a matchup like that home field advantage is a difference maker…………The last time we played a really good defense on the road we won in the final minute in New England. So please excuse me if I dont think we just gonna walk into the Dome and destroy them.
Lastly shame on you for making a Bucs fan find a way to defend our bitter rival……But the bigger shame goes to me for actually arguing in favor of the Saints…………And let the record show that I did say I think we get the W, just happen to believe its gonna be a dogfight.
***END RANT***
October 29th, 2021 at 8:15 pm
I’ll admit. I seen the spread and I think I’m going Saints with points
October 29th, 2021 at 8:27 pm
Oh good lord he thinks Jameis is the Saints Savior.
October 29th, 2021 at 8:34 pm
I would still like someone to explain how the Panthers got 27, the Giants got 26, and the WFT got 22… but somehow Brady and the #1 passing offense in the NFL will struggle to get anything.
Someone needs to explain the thinking behind that.
October 29th, 2021 at 8:39 pm
I am a big believer in momentum. Bucs certainly have it defensively. Holding teams under 20 points has been the standard of late. Give the Bucs some credit for the physical power of Vita Vea and Shaq Barrett with the hustle of JPP. How is Winston gonna stand up to that pursuit. Hurts and Fields are sprinters compared to JW and Bucs D line chased them all over the field. There is nothing in Winston’s resume that says he can get rid of the ball quickly under pressure.
This game is more on the Buc D than the O. Brady will get them 25-30 points. If defensive momentum continues I expect the Bucs to shorten the field, take the ball away and score opportunistically.
October 29th, 2021 at 9:03 pm
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Saint’s win. I will be upset for sure. Certainly don’t want to lose to Winston after all those “this is his year” years. I haven’t seen any of those ugly games that Tampa randomly has every once in awhile. It seems Tampa struggles to put together a full game. Either the Defense is lighting it up and the Offense struggles or the other way around. Or Special teams is getting it done but the offense struggles in the redzone. If this team ever puts together a whole game it’s unstoppable.
October 29th, 2021 at 10:29 pm
You fans who keep saying there worried about Ingram. Are you kidding me the dude is 33 years old has no speed. He will be a goal line back and get maybe 5-8 carries all game. You guys are acting like he will break an 80 yarder against us. Any touch he gets takes away from Kamara. I will take that all day long. This isn’t 2016.
October 29th, 2021 at 10:34 pm
A lot of you are expecting to lose this game. That is crazy we have Tom Brady. You don’t think those two losses last year have motivated him. Plus they are missing there all pro guard there all pro wide receiver and ther hall of fame qb. Did you not see what Tom did to the bears after he was embarrassed last year. This is a different type of cat he will want to run up 50 on them. And Jamie’s is going to be way to amped as us fans know and try to do to much and ditch the game plan to try and say I told you so. And will throw multiple picks. It who he is he won’t be able to control his emotions and be a game manager the whole game.
October 29th, 2021 at 11:33 pm
We own kamara
October 29th, 2021 at 11:53 pm
So many have already conceded the game.
You guys must have been a blast to be around before the Super Bowl game.
October 30th, 2021 at 12:04 am
I think webster just likes to spew his “you think my way or no way at all” spittle all over his keyboard. His opinion seems to be highly regarded by himself alone. He’s pretty nasty while doing it too.
October 30th, 2021 at 12:11 am
Bucs 38
Saints 17
Panthers and Giants didn’t struggle and the mediocre Seahawks could have easily done it last Monday with a better qb or at least a better kicker!
Saints are to over-hyped!
October 30th, 2021 at 3:08 am
Sorry Brooks…Selmon is the greatest Buc, not even close. The pillar.
October 30th, 2021 at 5:00 am
selmon is the greatest buc ever…and he did it pretty much by himself early on…
sapp, brooks, and lynch were like the 3 musketeers…feeding off each others greatness…thus making each other even better…
they were great, but with all due respect to the triple threat, leroy was a different animal…kinda like LT was with the giants in his heyday
October 30th, 2021 at 5:05 am
i said the bucs were going to lose this one in my early season prognostications…
but i switched up and have the bucs winning this game 30-20…
the bucs have won 14 of 15 games…so either they keep rolling or are due for a loss…
i say keep rolling…and bang some of that dirty bourbon street hoes before getting on the plane!
October 30th, 2021 at 7:59 am
I suppose even Derrick Brooks at some point can’t look at logic and abandon his bias. That’s okay.
This is the single most important game so far this year for the Bucs, obviously. I know we always say the most important task is the one you’re doing now, but this one is for real. Taking a two game lead in the division at the halfway point is great momentum and buffer for any future clunkers and/or injuries that come up.
Indeed the Saints can certainly take this game with just a few mistakes or bad calls. I do have to say I’m happy Thomas, Peat, and Hill are out for the Saints. I don’t expect a big game from Evans given Lattimore but he CAN beat him at times, but the big job for Evans is to simply keep Lattimore tied up all day long so Godwin and hopefully Gronk and others can shine. Need a big game from the O line too.
Go Bucs!
October 30th, 2021 at 9:17 am
Mr. Brooks is picking the Saints based on “mojo”?!
October 30th, 2021 at 9:58 am
If this team can’t get jacked to play a perfect game against the Saints, there is a significant motivational issue.
October 30th, 2021 at 10:34 am
Its a division game against a team that has had our number for years. Of course its going to be tough. Saints still have a good defense. I dont see enough weapons on offense for Jameis to ball out, but I can see the game being close enough that it is likely to come down to a play he makes or doesnt make that will determine the game. You cant win every game, this one is in the Superdome, and they are likely treating this as their biggest game of the season. Having the GOAT doesnt erase over a decade of futility against the Saints. Midnight can strike at any time and this Pirate Ship could easily turn back into a pumpkin in a hot minute.
October 30th, 2021 at 10:35 am
I’d like to see us roll double nickels on the Saints for two reasons plus a maybe third.
First, (now) to send a message to Derrick to stay in line! LOL
Second, to stick it to Payton who seems to like to run the score on us when he can.
Third, with our secondary being so depleted and working with second and third level talent, we may need to win a shootout. Unless, of course, Jameis becomes gracious to his old team (who gave him more than ample chances to succeed) and coughs up some picks. Just for old times sake!
October 30th, 2021 at 12:28 pm
Doctor Stroud, 55 is a man of god, he believes magic is real, so yeah, he is picking the game based on mojo.
October 30th, 2021 at 4:45 pm
What would that scrub Derrick Brooks know about football anyway?
October 31st, 2021 at 6:43 am
Dink and dunk won’t beat us…..it will keep things close initially, maybe 17-10 at halftime but odds are we’ll keep scoring and eventually Winston will have to open things up. That’s when the wheels start wobbling.
October 31st, 2021 at 8:54 am
Mr. Derrick Brooks, I respectfully disagree with your analysis.
October 31st, 2021 at 9:29 am
Lavonte David is just as good as Brooks was. And Lee Roy Selmon (RIP) was a HOFamer and class act OFF the field, too. I don’t like or trust Payton. The DBs and Sherman will be a focus for me. I would NOT bet points on this one. That said, I would love to see the Bucs beat the merde out of this bunch. And on Halloween in HooDoo City, too. Go Bucs!!
