Bitter Jameis?
October 29th, 2021America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, the Saints’ checkdown specialist, held a 14-plus minute news conference yesterday where he was asked a lot of questions about facing his old team.
Joe found it noteworthy that Jameis never once mentioned any of his Bucs coaches, or that the Bucs even have coaches.
Jameis talked about playing his former teammates several times, as well as his happiness for longtime Buccaneers who won the Super Bowl. Jameis also referenced the Glazer family and Bucs players by name. But not once did he refer to the Tampa Bay coaching staff.
During the Saints-Bucs games last year, the JoeBucsFan.com photographer was never able to capture a photo of Jameis talking to Bucco Bruce Arians before or after a game, though Joe has plenty of photos of Jameis embracing and chatting with offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich and Clyde Christensen.
Jameis went on to mention his love of the city of Tampa and he tried to say he wasn’t bitter about the Bucs giving up on him. He also said Sunday’s game isn’t about revenge for him and it’s the Falcons that are the Saints’ biggest rival, though Jameis acknowledged how much he’d like to pound the Bucs.
“I’m trying my best to step on somebody’s neck … … I want to beat’em bad,” he said.
Jameis acknowledged that he’s been working on removing emotion from his play because bad things can happen when a player is too emotional. He doesn’t want to play “stuck in my feelings,” and strives to be in the football moment.
Yes, Joe expects Jameis to get overly hyped facing the Bucs in front of the Halloween lunacy at the Superdome. That could lead Jameis to critical mistakes, but it also could lead to a ridiculously special play or two that could change the game.
Regardless, Joe is not worried. The Saints offense doesn’t have enough punch to hang with the Bucs.

Joe sees that Jameis makes a much better a heel (also known as a rudo in lucha libre) than a face to the Bucs fans.
October 29th, 2021 at 7:52 am
Win by 1 or a good old Fashion curb stomping.
It is all good, but I prefer a curb stomping beatdown of the Aints. Along with a total meltdown by Jameis. You know 3 ints and a fumble kind of meltdown lol
GO BUCS!!!!!!
October 29th, 2021 at 7:53 am
Jameis has no reason to be bitter…..he was given every chance in the world and failed…..he had his Uber “hassle”……and lied to the team…and they still gave him a 5th year…….
I agree that Jameis will get emotional in the game and it could work both ways for him…
We need to have Devin White in his face and tracking him down when he tries to run…..
October 29th, 2021 at 7:54 am
Oh cares the Bucs paid this fraud what60-70 mil to be mediocre. Even paid him over 20 mil after he lied to them and got suspended. The Bucs owe him nothing he should be thankful. And by them getting rid of him it has humbled him he should be thankful for that.
October 29th, 2021 at 7:54 am
Retarded emotional development
Jameis is as Jameis does
His potential is his past
Stuck on wavering mediocrity
October 29th, 2021 at 7:55 am
FJW!!!

That Hard Knocks segment that the editors included says it all
Showing guest videographers around his home Jameis becomes fascinated and fixated on mating cockroaches
Jameis is as Jameis does
October 29th, 2021 at 7:58 am
Bitter, immature JayMiss is gonna come out shaky.
2 picks minimum.
He’s still full of sh!t and I fully expect our defense to make his day miserable.
And of course I expect him to say that he just needs to play better and stop making mistakes at his Monday morning presser……along with a long, hot and hard shout out to his boy and new president of the Nuthugger Brigade….lil’ webster.
Go Bucs!
October 29th, 2021 at 8:00 am
Look how fickle nfl teams are with the QBs he’s lucky he got five years here. Other teams would’ve pulled the plug sooner it’s the nfl grow up losers. They had to take his face off the stadium and still paid him 20mil stop crying!!!
October 29th, 2021 at 8:08 am
he will dump ball off all day, if he gets down double digits its over for JW Bucs will unleash hell and thats when JW BECOMES WHAT HE IS INCONSISTANT.
Our staff knows what he cant do and what he can do at his highest level which is average QB at best
October 29th, 2021 at 8:09 am
Oh yeah, I forgot about his fumbles.
That’s a seriously overlooked talent of his.
Revised stats for JayMiss….. 2 picks, 2 fumbles and 1 full on reetard something play.
October 29th, 2021 at 8:16 am
Have you heard of any QB he coached having a hard time with Arians? What we DO hear is that he is straight forward and tells you what he feels. So either he treated Jameis differently or some one could not handle the truth. Let’s guess which of these applies.
October 29th, 2021 at 8:20 am
Expect a lot of pressure in his face and lots of corner and safety blitzes – we all know what rattles JW – he will heave bad throws up for grabs- we all watched it for 5 years – he will make some great plays and then shat the bed with WTF throws and/or plays
Historical behavior is the best indicator of future results
October 29th, 2021 at 8:21 am
He doesn’t know how to be the leader of an NFL team. Too goofy & awkward.
October 29th, 2021 at 8:22 am
What everyone is forgetting is the Saints are only team that kicked Brady’s arse last season, that’s stuck in TB12 ‘s mind. There has been only one team to EVER beat Brady in 3 consecutive regular season games and that was the Broncos over a 4 or 5 year span. Jamais doesn’t mention BA because he is seeing how an elite NFL head coach works his magic. I don’t fear the Saints talent I fear the head Coach over BA. At least it’s in a dome so inclement weather isn’t a factor. In TB12 we trust.
October 29th, 2021 at 8:22 am
How could Jameis not feel awful (if not bitter)? He plays the most important position on the field, he gets the subtracted from the team, and the Bucs win the Super Bowl in the first year that he’s gone! And the national media has a loving obsession with his replacement. How would you feel if you got fired, your replacement thrived and you couldn’t go on the internet without reading odes to that guy?
October 29th, 2021 at 8:26 am
Didn’t he want $100m guaranteed? I’m not sure I’d call that giving up on someone…that’s just good business. Let’s see, Jameis wants some ridiculous amounts of money – who else is available in Free Agency. Oh, the Goat is available for 2yrs at $50mill guaranteed…Hmmm, what do we do…what do we do…?
I’m usually just for winning the game and getting out of the game without any new injuries, but I’d love to absolutely stomp the Saints this weekend.
GO Bucs!
October 29th, 2021 at 8:28 am
Come out
Come out
wherever you are NDOG!!!!!!!
October 29th, 2021 at 8:29 am
Not sure about Jameis’s maturity…right now he’s own a very short leash – so it’s difficult to determine which Jameis shows up on Sunday.
The best choice is to have the Bucs put their foot on his throat and run up the scoreboard.
October 29th, 2021 at 8:30 am
NDog is dragging his ass across the full in circles
October 29th, 2021 at 8:34 am
last night’s game was a perfect example of a really good team AND a great QB. Rogers only completed 59% and was short-handed, but he found a way to win. Sound familiar??? Last week Tommy Boy only completed 55% and was short-handed but they found a way to win
October 29th, 2021 at 8:37 am
2015: So much hope and optimism, and rightfully so. He showed to have all the tools but there was that turnover problem in college. Threw 58% but hey, he’s a rookie.
2016: Slight improvement but was hoping for a better 2nd year leap. Muscle Shamster sucked, VJax was injured, and all they had was Evans and Humphries. Wait till next year.
2017: Bucs bring in DeSean Jackson to compliment Mike Evans and drafted Chris Godwin. Cameron Brate has matured into a reliable pass catching TE and Adam Humphries is becoming a reliable receiver. Expecting the 3rd year leap that puts him in the MVP conversation. Nope. We get the same old fumbles, INTs, and low completion percentage. Gets sacked a ton but the honks blame the offensive line. At this time I’m still a believer.
2018: Assault and 3 game suspension. Fitzmagic has women wearing beards in the stands after starting 2-1. Jay-Miss’ first 3 games has his throwing 5 TDs and 6 INTs. Confidence in him is shaken. Then the Cincinnatti game happened where he threw 4 INTs three quarters of play. Fitzmagic comes in an nearly wins the game. This was the game I knew Jay-Miss was a bust. We all should have known.
2019: Get rid of Fitzmagic because we can’t have the franchise messiah looking over his shoulder. New coaching staff because Koetter was worse than Lovie. QB Whisperer is here and brings Tom Moore. He’ll be the guy to fix Jay-Miss. Nope. Bucs are a 30-30 loser and the chosen one ends the season on a pick six. The mouth-breathers say “He NeEdS oNe MoRe YeAr CuZ itZ a NeW sYsTem!” Jay-Miss demands $30+million. I laugh, Arians laughs.
2020: Good riddance to a draft bust. Tom Brady wins a Super Bowl with primarily the same weapons and offensive line the #1 overall bust had.
He’s got nothing to be bitter about. The Bucs quite literally did everything they could to fix him but we all ignored the signs in his rookie year.
October 29th, 2021 at 8:37 am
Sorry Jameis, but Lions don’t care about the opinions of sheep.
Turkey cranberry? That sub sounds amazing. I gotta have a taste of that relish!
October 29th, 2021 at 8:39 am
I suspect NO regular season embarrassments still stick in Brady’s craw.
Unlike ATM, that’s a + in the Brady balance sheet.
Emotions can destroy a mental mindset (Winston) or cause steely focus (Brady.)
It will be close, but my $$$ is on Brady performing better than ATM.
……..
On another note, this could be a defining game for ATM. Win, and your stock rises. Fall apart (my bet) and forever be known as a loser…for two teams.
Fall apart, and Payton KNOWS he has a longer-term QB issue.
October 29th, 2021 at 8:40 am
NO = New Orleans
October 29th, 2021 at 8:43 am
He does not respond well to pressure.
October 29th, 2021 at 8:45 am
D-Romes nails it, the rollercoaster known as America’s Turnover Machine.
What a breath of fresh air KNOWING the Buc QB won’t have a melt-down or some idiotic, dumba$$, WTF-Was-That play.
October 29th, 2021 at 8:55 am
D Rome…pretty much sums it up. He had every chance… And never achieved a franchise QB level of play over a season. He has nothing to be bitter about…he was paid every cent we were responsible for. And frankly, if Payton hadn’t put him on a short leash, does anyone think he would be other than the same old Jameis in NO or anywhere else?
October 29th, 2021 at 8:56 am
There are no “gimmes” in the NFL…..we better come to play the Saints this week the same as when we saw them in the playoffs last year. Payton is an exceptional game planner, Winston has shown he can get hot and Kamara is a top 3 back. The Bucs/Bowles tends to struggle with QBs in a new system the first time around. Payton knows how to attack our defense and while he may not have Brees to execute with, we also don’t have our starting secondary and Bowles aggressive play calling will give Kamara opportunities in the receiving game.
I think this one could be a shoot out. That would be a major curve ball from the Saints who have been using Winston as a game manager.
October 29th, 2021 at 8:57 am
My key highlights from JW’s presser: 1) JW said it best: the Aint’s won the NFC South Division last year (and beat the Bucs twice in the regular season); the bull’s eye is on their backs and not the Bucs! 2) JW hasn’t seen “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”?! Wow, it’s a different generation. 3) He’s going to be Frankenstein for Halloween. Yes, I can see that!
October 29th, 2021 at 8:59 am
This is going to be a grind out game. I see it going a lot like the Bucs Patriots. Sean Peyton will come up with a game plan to get this a low scoring game which is what needs to happen for the Saints to have a chance. If this game turns out to be a track meet the Saints have no chance. Jameis will attempt around 20 passes and rely on Kamara and the short passing game. He will burn us if we become to blitz happy. 20-17 Bucs in a grind out last team with ball wins game. If things dont work out and we lose it is not the end of the world as we will get another crack at them in December and we will have an Idea of how they are going to play.
October 29th, 2021 at 9:00 am
We need to beat this fool and move on. I’ve been tired of hearing about him since 2017.
October 29th, 2021 at 9:01 am
Peyton uses Kamara to squelch Winston’s attempts either by running attempts or short passes. Stop Kamara and we win. No more hiding once Kamara is eliminated.
October 29th, 2021 at 9:02 am
Bet the mortgage on jameis trying to do too much and throwing one of his crazy interceptions off his back or falling down and 45 takes it to the house; its just his nature like the cockroaches he was talking about
October 29th, 2021 at 9:15 am
Brady and the Bucs will be locked in, and completely focused to seek and destroy in this game. I expect the Bucs to be playing with their hair lit on fire, but also under control. I see them ratcheting up the pressure and exposing NO in the trenches. Vita is going to be a beast.
I would love to see us welcome a short check down on Kamara, and have three hats meet and greet him. Give him a couple yards underneath, and make him pay via great form tackling.
I also look for JPP and or Shaq to go off with Suh and Vita in the middle w no Peat.
October 29th, 2021 at 9:21 am
Excellent summation of the Soiled Messiah’s career as a Buc D-Rome.
October 29th, 2021 at 9:34 am
Some of of us are expecting a blowout. Some of us know that playing in the Superdome is always a risky proposition. Ira’s column spells out our struggles with New Orleans.
I expect a closer game than most all casual fans and would cherish a one point win.
I hate slimly Sean Payton and his headcase QB and am craving a beatdown until I remember the Saints entire season may ride on this game.
October 29th, 2021 at 9:35 am
Saints beat the shat out of GB week 1.
October 29th, 2021 at 9:42 am
That first Saints/Packers game was indicative of nothing. The Packers were coming off the Rodgers off season drama, and Cobb wasn’t even up to speed. Nor had anyone see the new Saints Jameis offense. Yes, anyone can beat anyone on a given Sunday. But frankly that win was no more indicative of what both teams are, than the Bears/Bucs game was last year.
October 29th, 2021 at 9:59 am
I sense a certain amount of nervousness in Buc land.
October 29th, 2021 at 10:01 am
This game will be a good test for our offense. The Saints D is still really good. I know we really want to win this one, but I hope we are not bringing Gronk back less than 100%.
October 29th, 2021 at 10:57 am
Bucs fans still talk about the Saints like they won in the NFC divisional. Just another game. Lots of QBs change teams. This is a lot of hype for no reason.
October 29th, 2021 at 11:12 am
Would it be nice to see him have a 3+ turnover game with 2 pick 6s, YEAH!
He did it for SO many teams while he was a Bucs…. Would kinda balance things out…
He is no Drew Brees (or even in top 10 qbs) so his factor is very limited in this game… They have won this year through Hill/Kamara running and screen plays… Panthers did not struggle against them, the Giants held them close and beat them, Seahawks likely win if they had a qb… Sure, the Saints beat the Packers in week 1 BUT has also looked pedestrian in many games since…
bottom line, Bucs win will go a long way toward the Bucs being division champs and pulling away from the Saints… The Bucs are the better team!
October 29th, 2021 at 11:44 am
They’ll dink and dump to AK until the Bucs get a two score lead.
The Saints will open up the offense and JW will do good things until he commits his first TO.
Then, it’s over.
He’ll mentally push harder and the wheels will fall off.
October 29th, 2021 at 11:45 am
No nervousness here, just excitement for the D to be feasting!
October 29th, 2021 at 11:47 am
It’s pretty obvious to me the coaching staff lost confidence in Winston. The players probably lost confidence in Winston way before the coaches. It’s pretty rare to see a No 1 pick franchise quarterback not voted in as a team captain. Let’s be honest here. Winston knew he wasn’t wanted and was probably relieved when his contract ended and he found out Tampa wasn’t going to try and resign him. The only way he was going to revitalize his career was with a fresh start
October 29th, 2021 at 11:48 am
Jameis has been reduced to a game manager at best in New Orleans and the Jameis Jock Rider Mob that still resides here is still afraid he’s gonna dominate the Bucs after Brady is gone.
America’s Turnover Machine is perhaps the worst QB in Bucs history. Not talent wise, but the fact that he wasted 5 years of everyone’s time. If you’re terrible, great then everyone knows you’re not the guy and just move on. If you’re great, awesome they know to hold onto you. But Jameis was always up and down, showing you Heisman/MVP talent one day then throwing 4 interceptions the next. But he led us to a real QB in Brady so there’s that.
October 29th, 2021 at 11:54 am
Wont trash JW, just want to win the game. Get a lead, keep Kamara down as much as possible and we should win. We have a better team and should win the game.
October 29th, 2021 at 11:58 am
Ndog will be rooting for Jameis and the Saints.
October 29th, 2021 at 12:05 pm
If he is in fact “bitter”, it’s of his own actions that he isn’t here anymore. 5 years is plenty of opportunity.
October 29th, 2021 at 12:19 pm
N’awlins on Halloween: Bucs are doomed. I think y’all are whistling past the graveyard the Dome was built on. The ghost Of Mark Ingram will rise from the grave and destroy. Your antique GOAT will have season high numbers in sacks and ints.
October 29th, 2021 at 12:22 pm
Lol lol Jamies bitter 🤣 😂 the man is a millionaire at the age of 26 but he’s bitter 🤣 !! He’s a turnover machine but has 14 touchdowns with three picks ok . This game is being hyped by the media this game really doesn’t matter . The bucs are going to win because we have more weapons on offense than they have on defense and that’s a fact . Plus we have Brady wich means the refs will cater to Brady by throwing a bunch of flags against the saints because Jamies is the quarterback.
October 29th, 2021 at 12:37 pm
Panhead…yah I’m scared. (sarcasm)
October 29th, 2021 at 12:42 pm
(Knocking on wood for the collective group here)
October 29th, 2021 at 12:54 pm
I hope both teams struggle and get banged up. Love football
October 29th, 2021 at 1:50 pm
I fully agreed with the decision to move on from him, and I’m thrilled to have Tom Brady leading our team in ways Jamie’s never could. But in terms of bitterness and spite, Bucs fans seem much more negative about him and interested in seeing him do poorly, than he seems concerned about us. It’s akin to getting fired for not performing well enough and your employer still rooting against you once you have moved on. It’s way past time for Bucs fans to move on and be happy with the much improved team we have.
October 29th, 2021 at 4:45 pm
Ndog is Jameis!
October 29th, 2021 at 6:53 pm
Jameis has nothing to be bitter about since he was paid millions to be a bust. He’s damn lucky that he was given five years to prove himself and he ultimately failed. I however am certainly bitter that I wasted five years watching this dude. I hope we crush this buffoon and his d-bag team. Personally I wish Jameis nothing but the best off the field, but as long as he plays for the enemy, I wish him nothing but sorrow and misery on the the field. Can’t wait til Sunday. 😛
October 29th, 2021 at 7:46 pm
Jamies is not a bust remember yall give Brady all the credit for this team even though he’s playing with a all-star roster on offense. The saints are 4 and 2 and he’s been the starting quarterback all year. So stop haten on Jamies yall said he’s a turnover machine and he has 14 touchdowns and only 3 picks and he’s playing with a bunch no name receivers. I recall when Brady receivers was bad his last year in New England yall blame his receivers. Then he comes to Tampa and they gave him 2 hall of famers and drafted a offensive linman in the first round plus with a pro bowl running back and yall ignore all of that lol 😆 😂 +!
October 29th, 2021 at 7:54 pm
Yes. I admit that I’m nervous regarding this Sundays game.. I don’t want to see Mr exclamation point man (!!!!!) back here talking about sheep, or NDog going on about his messiah.. I don’t miss them.. not even a little.
Here’s to building a win streak against them for once.
October 29th, 2021 at 9:21 pm
Jameis has never said he was bitter. Hell, the guy made bank here. But some writers..like the one here..luv stirrin the pot.
October 29th, 2021 at 9:28 pm
Jameis is the very definition of a bust. We drafted him number one overall and he is no longer on the team. Vinny was also a bust. Just because a QB has some measure of success after leaving us does not mean that they weren’t a bust while they played here. A combined ten years of wasting my time watching Vinny and Jameis fail over and over again. It really makes you appreciate the good times. 😛
October 29th, 2021 at 9:59 pm
JaMarcus Russell level bust… NO!
Jarod Goff level BUST… YES!
Is he the Saints future…. Doubtful…
Will he play for several teams starting from time to time (Ryan Fitzpatrick; Josh McCown; Alex Smith) that is most likely his lane or path of career!
October 30th, 2021 at 1:21 am
It’s sad that Jameis went from idolizing Arians to avoiding him at games.
October 30th, 2021 at 6:54 am
I don’t care what jamis the hanis is I’m at the top of the world when it comes to Our Bucs let’s just get some of our d-backs from injured reserve. 🎃
October 30th, 2021 at 8:18 am
Bugzilla. It’s amazing that you call every quarterback that this team drafted a bust. Maybe it’s not the quarterbacks maybe it’s the team . How is it that Tampa is the only team who never developed a quarterback in the history of the franchise and the NFL?? Just remember Brady will leave at some point and it’s coming soon. So who will be the next young quarterback career this team is going to destroy is the real question ???
October 30th, 2021 at 10:44 am
Sounds like the Bucs fans are the bitter ones…
October 30th, 2021 at 7:37 pm
Oneilbuc, every qb that we have drafted outside of Dilfer and Doug have been busts. Those two won playoff games for us, so it’s not fair to call them busts. Our qb history is among the worst in the league and coaching, ownership, scouting, you name it has been part of the problem outside of the individual players. At the end of the day though, the vast majority of the blame must be laid at the players feet for their failure here.
October 30th, 2021 at 9:39 pm
JW haters…Don’t hide tomorrow night!
