The NFL Should Be Scared

If the Bucs have a strong defense to go along with this explosive offense, man oh man this ought to be fun.
That’s the gist of what Clark Judge of SI.com typed in his weekly “Judgements” column for the august publication.
Bad news for the rest of the league: Tom Brady is still Tom Brady, and the Bucs’ defense looks like it’s back.
Joe just cannot get enough of how dominant this defense was despite the cornerbacks all beat to hell, no Lavonte David, and Jason Pierre-Paul gutting it out for a pair of sacks and a forced fumble basically playing with one shoulder and one hand.
It blows Joe’s mind that a beat up defense can force more turnovers than points allowed. That’s just unreal.
Somewhere, Derrick Brooks is nodding in approval with that eyebrow of his raised up high on his forehead.

Clyde Christensen said himself last year about six more games and this team would be firing on all cylinders. That’s how you win on all three phases of the game. Keep the wins stacking boys!! Always room for improvement

The secondary looked legit again. They were covering their men…….but how much of it was because of a rook QB. have to take that into account and almost not count this one IMO. If they do against a better QB I will be impressed…and that’s not JW. They should eat him alive and have 3 picks!

We shouldn’t get too ahead of ourselves here. Fields is that bad to this point and isn’t getting the coaching he needs to be better. Let’s see how it goes against the Saints…

Land your plane there Joe. I love the Bucs but let’s face it three things come to mind..1. They left 20 points on the field. 2. They seem to have mental lapses both offensively and defensively. 3. Missed field goal again. The score should have been a lot better. In the second half we were sloppy. The Bears are awful. Fields played like a rookie and the Bucs still had breakdowns. It’s become a pattern. Great we are 6-1 but we need to play a lot better. The good thing is we have time and the injury replacements are getting valuable reps in the game. Hopefully this will pay dividends down the road. Developing our depth is crucial for a long run in the playoffs.

How good is this D? Well ever since SB, the next coming of the combination of Brady, Montana, Marino & Manning, Patrick Mahomes is NO longer the unbeatable phenomenon he is depicted to be. He was unstoppable until he met with the likes of Dhaq, JPP, Vea, Suh, LVD, White & Co. The same may now be said for Fields, welcome to the NFL!

It is always funny to me when a team has a very good game and then we have the arm chair quarterbacks that still come out and tell you how bad parts of the team are.
I will arm chair. We won despite Brady throwing as many off target passes as he has anytime of his career with the Buc’s.
It is still a game where physical mistakes will happen. I did not see many mental lapses/mistakes by this Buc’s team. We had 1 penalty. We allowed 4 pressures and no sacks. We won the line of scrimmage both with our offensive line and defensive line.

I share the excitement of our Bucs doing as well as they are, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. It was the Bears, after all. This was the perfect time to get the backups some live reps. Lets get the starters back and take it to the stronger competition.

We have been playing against teams with quarterbacks that cannot hurt us. Only Buffalo has a QB that can hurt us, and his tendency for power runs plays to the strength of our defense.

I have always been in the middle on Jameis Winston but speaking of New Orleans and writing them off just seems to be silly to me.
New Orleans offensive and defensive lines have mostly blistered us the last 3-4 years. Even in the playoff game, we just evenly matched their lines. Not sure that next week is an easy game for us in any way.
Going to the game and hoping for a Buc’s win.

we had played two real good teams so far:
Cowboys —> it was a toss @ the last minute.
Rams —> it was a embarrassing loss.
Saint may be consider the third real test…. is not to far… next Sunday

This is a time to celebrate, the Bears were #3 def the pass and not sure but right up there in the run D. This wasn’t the Jets, Houston or Jaguars. The beating they got was a accomplishment not a oh they are just another crap team. Lions gave Rams a scare yesterday and Balt & KC got pounded. Dallas was not a toss, Bucs had the lead the entire game and beat up on Dak. Some seem to forget the secondary, though not the greatest when healthy, is depleted and NO LVD, AB & Gronk? What more do you want? This is the NFL. Oh let’s not forget it was raining and BA doesn’t like to practice for inclement weather. Ironic since throughout Brady’s career in NE, he was the best at playing in inclement weather conditions. Practice makes perfect I guess.

Let’s not get carried away here, the Bears are horrible on offense. I’m glad the Bucs did what they’re supposed to do to a team like the Bears, but the Bucs D has a long way to go here. We’ll see what happens next week when Winston does the new dink and dunk offense of the Saints and 2 weeks to prepare for the Bucs. If they shut down the Saints next week then we can talk about the D coming around. Until then, I’m stoked on how they’ve been playing and getting guys the rest they need. Still would love to see the offense have a complete game, but half a good game is better then most teams complete game

YET… WHEN WE WERE HEALTHY TO START THE SEASON THE DEFENSE SUCKED!
How quickly the Joes forget when we were at full strength to start the season the “Gravediggers” dug their own grave… our Pass Rush was lackluster, and we gave up yards like crazy.
IT’S ONE GAME.
The Bears O-Line sucks. Fields sucks and isn’t a dominant QB.
This Bucs D always looks great against TERRIBLE O-LINES. Just like in the Super Bowl when the Chiefs were severely hurt as well as against the beat-up Packers OL in the NFC Championship game.
What’s so hard to understand? Our Defense dominates BAD O-LINES and QBs without a quick release.
Let’s not the story against teams like the Rams, Cowboys, and others.

Getting excited over a blowout win against a team that can’t pass? It’s another step toward home field, that’s all. Justin fields was a bad pick. His draft stock dropped for a reason. He’s not accurate enough. It’s incredibly hard to teach. You should blow out teams like this. The surprise would be if they didn’t

Bradybucs, last I recall Bucs beat Cowboys, and they have the leading rusher in NFC and just as good a WR core as Bucs. Pretty good win if I do say so myself and do you really think a healthier Oline for KC would of made a difference in the SB outcome? KC invested a ton of $$ in their Oline this season, how they doing? As far as Rams, the Bucs game was their SB, they were more prepared, so any given Sunday. The Rams barely snuck by Lions this week.

While I agree that Fields is terrible, there were Bucs “fans” earlier in the week who said the Bucs D would make Fields look like Tom Brady. Not quite.

I was one that warned against it being a “trap” game. At least it had been in years past, pre-Brady. These games, the ones we’re supposed to win, are games we seem to be winning now. I simply remember our past which so far seems to be just that, the past.
