Jason Pierre-Paul Reveals His Injuries

October 24th, 2021

Details injuries.

Yeah, there are good reasons Jason Pierre-Paul has been on the shelf for a while.

JPP had a helluva game today despite playing with a bum shoulder and a hand in a club. We found out tonight from none other than JPP himself what the injuries are.

And they are not minor.

JPP, per Sara Walsh of NFL Network, has a couple of broken fingers and a nasty torn rotator cuff.

Well, generally torn rotator cuffs mean surgery for a player and sidelines him for some time. Come February, Joe fully expects JPP to go under the knife. The fact as an outside linebacker he’s playing and tackling and rushing the quarterback with a torn rotator cuff is mindblowing to Joe.

Shows you what kind of warrior he is.

    He’s not human

sometimes you just have to be amazed at these players for what they do. not just injury, these guys can be brilliant, even outside of football many of them. for every bad story in the newspaper, there are hundreds of good ones not publicized. thanks to hear about it.

  4. Buc4evr Says:

True warrior and old school player. Nothing but respect for JPP.

  5. Medicated Pete Says:

Sit him till after bye week. Our O-line is only 2nd to the 1990’s Dallas Cowboys where Emmitt Smith didn’t earn any of his yards the whole time

  6. PassingThru Says:

I had a rotator cuff injury in college playing baseball. Gravity becomes your enemy, the weight of your shoulder alone is painful. Lifting your arm without massive amounts of painkiller is out of the question. You can get through the day with a clavicle brace under your jersey or shirt, and you have to keep it on at night because the searing pain will keep you awake.

  7. JimmyJack Says:

Passing Thru…..But you are not JPP. You are normal. When you feel pain you dont like it.

Im pretty much convinced that JPP enjoys pain. I think he actually craves it.

  8. Jason From Jamrock Says:

I agree. Why not let him SIT, for a couple of weeks?
    you may be correct JimmyJack.

  9. SB~LV Says:

    Old school toughness !

  10. Defense Rules Says:

JPP playing right now is crazy. Bucs will need him big-time for the playoffs, and with 10 games still to go the odds of him making it to the playoffs probably aren’t great. We all know that he’s a warrior, but playing with a torn rotator is crazy. Like PassingThru, I had the surgery because the pain was unbearable. Healing didn’t take as long as I’d feared it would.

  11. Chris Says:

Love me some JPP. But if he has multiple broken fingers in addition to the fireworks thing. Guy can’t have many working digits left. Have a quick recovery and do that boat celebration more.

  12. Coburn Says:

And I will keep apologizing for saying after first couple games he looked old and sloe. Another game or two later I clued in he must be injured right before we read about it

  13. DaBux Says:

    JPP knows.

This might be his last shot at a ring as a starter.

    He wants it.

    We know it.

    His teammates have his back.

  14. David Says:

He’s used to playing with many fingers… LOL. The rotator cuff though, that’s crazy. He must be getting a Cortizone shot every couple weeks to keep playing through it.

  15. Wesley Says:

    Dude is an athletic freak.

    PassingThru Says:

There are different locations and degrees of cartilage tears. I’ve got a tear in my shoulder that is quite easy to live with as long as I don’t sleep too long on that side. I consider myself lucky.

  17. Im not tired anymore we Super Bowl Champs!! Says:

Great having JPP on the team. He belongs with us in Tampa. Great trade! Go Bucs!

  18. Bush's Coke Spoon Says:

I wonder if the shoulder injury goes back to last year. It would explain why he stopped working from both sides of the formation. It’s kinda hard to take on a pulling guard on the side with a bum shoulder.

  19. BigPoppaBuc Says:

Man, this guy isn’t going to be able to where all his rings when he’s done. JPPs play today had a lot of Bucs fans breathing a sigh of relief that he’s still got enough left in the tank. Defense overall looked fast and aggressive today.

  20. LakelandSteve Says:

Had a torn rotator cuff a few years ago and just mowing the lawn was sheer agony. Don’t know how he is playing football and being effective. Dude is a warrior.

  21. Ash Says:

It’s impressive that he did that but the thing is he didn’t have to it would have been better if he would have rested would like him in the playoffs rather than risk him for a game they didn’t need him in

  22. Bucschamp Says:

he should not reveal his injury to the media

  23. adam from ny Says:

    always been sayin’ it…

    jpp is the man

  24. ED M Says:

Like I have said, JPP is the Michael Myers of the NFL.

  25. Alan Collingwood Says:

I have a torn rotator cuff right now, and that means constant pain. That JPP can play freakin’ FOOTBALL at the professional level is incredible

  26. teacherman777 Says:

I believe in Heroes and Demi-Gods like the Ancient Greeks.

Jason Pierre Paul, Suh, and Tom Brady are Heroes.

Heroes and Immortals like Alexander the Great.

  27. SteveK Says:

What a boss. A grinder. The most hardcore Buc we have. He sets the tone for our whole d and team by his tenacious approach, selflessness and intensity.

Dude’s mental make up is just as freaky/special/rare as his physical talents.
