Chicago Homer And Ex-Bears QB Says Bucs Will Be At Least Three Scores Better
October 22nd, 2021Sound the trumpets. Get the flags ready. Ice the Big Storm beer.
Here comes a Bucs blowout, says a former Chicago Bears QB who doesn’t shy away from being a Bears homer.
The Bucs, of course, take on the anemic Bears offense Sunday at The Licht House, a 4:25 p.m. start.
Tampa Bay had averaged more than 40 points a game at home this season and has racked up an average of more than 30 points per game through the entire Bucco Bruce Arians era.
The Bears have topped 20 points just once this season and are proud owners of the NFL’s worst-ranked offense guided by a rookie quarterback.
So it’s no wonder that former Bears quarterback Jim Miller passed on a fantastic offer today while co-hosting Movin The Chains on SiriusXM NFL Radio.
His co-host, former Bucs scout Pat Kirwan, asked Miller if he would pick the Bears on Sunday plus 17 points to beat the Bucs. Miller said he would not take that action.
That might be all you need to know about this matchup.
Miller doesn’t think Chicago can overcome its defensive injuries and he believes there will be too much pressure on Bears rookie QB Justin Fields to match scores with Tom Brady. Miller, a former Brady teammate with the Belicheats, also claims Brady has won 18 of his last 19 October games.
Joe hopes the Bucs find a way to not play down to their opponent Sunday. If so, Miller’s projection should be accurate.

Expect Chris Evans & Mike Godwin to have a big game & the Bears TE has the China Flu

Brady isn’t going against Nick Foles so Bucs should win handily

The real question is can the Bears put serious pressure on Brady like last season?
October 22nd, 2021 at 5:38 pm
Their best chance at beating us is getting pressure on Brady and forcing some rare mistakes. I dont see it happening with our OL but thats the matchup Ill be looking at

Living in Chicagland my entire life I was “Homer,” a Bears fan. Was. Last season I became a Bucs fan. You see, I’ve also been a big fan of Tom Brady since his days at Michigan. So even though I cheered for the Bears at Super Bowl XX (yes I was there and had a giant banner on TV) and took great pleasure when they ground the Bucs into the Astro Turf of the Super Dome, I took no pleasure in seeing them beat The Bucs last year. Tomorrow I’m going to a family “Bears Party” wearing Pewter and Red. I’m rooting for The Bucs to plant the Bears and Justin Fields in the sod of Soldier Field. GoBucs!

I’ll believe it when I see it. I heard the same thing against the Eagles and somehow that team without the ability to complete a pass was within one score late in the game. I have nothing but confidence in the Bucs but I never would take the points with them. They like to make stuff more interesting than it should be towards the end.

Yea we tend to make rookie QBS look like Tom Brady. Until we stop that trend I will not believe it.

Tampa D will dominate this week as long as they keep Fields in the pocket.

The Bears have owned the Bucs for decades…should be a different story this time around.

Bucs don’t blow anyone out unless/until it’s late. Except the Lions last year. Every game is in doubt until half way through the 4thQ.
Of course a Bears homer says that. Reverse mojo.

I’ll stick with my 35-14 prediction until the Bucs defense blows it. The Eagles had one of the top pass defenses until they played the Bucs. Plus, throw in the fact it was a short week on the road and it’s not too surprising the Bucs only won by 6. Oh, and almost forgot Brady and the offense took a knee right outside of the end zone at the end of the game, so there’s that.

“I’m rooting for The Bucs to plant the Bears and Justin Fields in the sod of Soldier Field. GoBucs!”
Wrong football garden, but I get your passion.

I’m taking the Bears and the points here. Bucs are not nearly as good as their record indicates. They’ve faced, at best, two quality defenses this year. Lots of injuries on a suspect defense and you have another Bucs game that will be much closer than it should be.

The rookie QB’s that have killed the Bucs have been very accurate throwing. It sure don’t sound like the Bears QB has been very accurate and tried to be teams with his athleticism. That won’t work against the Bucs. Should be a fun game to watch and let’s hope Evans has him a 200+ yard game with AB out. Go Bucs!!

Sure Jimbo bet on the Bucs then. Thought so. I aint touching the Bucs to beat the spread until they start doing it.

Scottw. Since 1996, the bucs and bears have played a total of 24 times. Its a 12-12 record. Kind of hard to say dominate. Btw, i went back to 96 because thats when dungy and the new ownership came in. Kind of hard to gauge the matchup prior when culverhouse had his players buying their own gatorade during practice

Wal well I’m glad you were at the Super Bowl. You were not there when the bears beat the bucs. Because they could never play each other in the super bowl both being nfc opponents. The bucs played the raiders and chiefs in there two Super Bowls. And I think as far as I can remember since I’m a bucs fan since 1999 we have never played the bears in the playoffs. But I’m glad you had such a good time at super bowl xx that you watched the bears(nfc) beat the bucs(nfc) in the super bowl. But good thing you remember it was on Astro turf

@ jeff i think he meant the patriots seeing that he said he was a brady fan and all. The bears did beat the pats in that superbowl. Atleast thats what im guessing he was trying to say

don’t let the bear eat you…eat the bear…
we gonna light this team up on our home turf…
31-13 or 31-17…
and that very well could mean a late bears td to make it look closer than it was…
fields is barely even an nfl qb

If we are lucky, the Bucs will win by 10 points or more and it won’t be close at the end. Blowout? No. Not with the injurie the Bucs have. I have noticed this team still tends to play down to their opponent, especially on defense. Superb Bowl and all, one trend the Bucs had yet to buck is rookie/no-name QBs continue to torch the pass D, no matter what. Needless to say, the Bucs secondary is depleted, and the office is missing three receivers that truly allow the Bucs to take the top off of opposing defenses or otherwise use the sum of all space on the field (Gronk, Brown, and Miller). I’m not “worried” about the Bears, but I’m expecting it to be closer than most seem to think.

The Bucs still haven’t got that killer instinct. Get up a couple of scores and then they seem to let off the pedal. Would love to see them score at least 40 tomorrow. But you can bet they’ll start running the ball and eating clock in the 4th quarter, and they will let Chicago back in the game.

It’s getting to the point to where we’re gonna have to go sign Ronde Barber, Brian Kelly, Dwight Smith, Damien Robinson & Dexter Jackson & we’re even gonna have to send a draft pick to SF to get John Lynch out of the front office to come out of retirement, too!
