“lt Looks Like It’s Going To Be That Lopsided”
October 22nd, 2021How the hell could the Bears beat the Buccaneers on Sunday at The Licht House?
Joe wanted an answer, so Joe tuned into Chicago sports radio this morning to hear one guy who would know.
That’s 20-year Bears beat writer Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.
Biggs said what this game looks like on paper, a dominant Bucs win, is what he expects.
“It looks like it’s going to be that lopsided,” Biggs said, though adding every year there are a small handful of “stunners” or games where you say, “we didn’t see that one coming.”
Interestingly, Biggs said teams facing the Bears know Chicago needs big plays on special teams to help it’s weak offense, so opponents are “super cautions” on fourth down against the Bears for that reason.
And Biggs expects the Bucs to play that way behind veteran special teams chief Keith Armstrong, who held the same job with the Bears (1997-2000).
“They’ve gotta steal possessions. They’ve got to help their offense out,” Biggs said of the Bears. “They need to get takeaways. They need game-changing plays on special teams, some combination of multiple plays like that to put points on the board, to give their offense optimal field position to really stun the Buccaneers.”
Though Joe never roots for players to be injured, Biggs painted a bleak picture for the Bears’ defense. He noted DE Bilal Nichols new knee injury, and stud defensive tackle Akiem Hicks’ suspect groin following a sack of Aaron Rodgers on Sunday.
Joe will add that edge rusher Khalil Mack is banged up and his stud counterpart Robert Quinn is on the COVID list.
Joe’s smelling the Bucs dropping 40-plus on Sunday. The Bears have scored more than 20 points just once this season.

Maybe it is just the pessimist in me but we usually find a way to barely eek a game out like this.
Hopefully the TB12 presence is in Full Effect!!!!!

Biggs isn’t drinking the Kool Aid. He’s taken a rather pragmatic stance. WE need to exact revenge on Da Bears.

Just want a win without any more injuries.
Go Bucs!

Just play hard Bucs and remember..On any given Sunday in this NFL any team can be had.

The Bucs dominated one team last year from start to finish, the Lions.
This one, without AB, and a motivated Bears team — ends 20-18 Bucs.
Stop with the “want to see a blowout” nonsense. Just win the game. It’s the NFL, did anyone see the Browns 4th string running back splashing on the scene with a Barry Sanders imitation last night? No. Happens all the time.

Good, conservative, comments here. Just get the win – and no injuries. That’s the goal.

Last years game was an embarrassment to the team, Brady, etc.. Since we brought back everyone from last year, all these guys should come into this game really angry. I say the Bucs win, but the 40 point thing, I would pass on that. Since 2017 only one team has scored 40 or more points on the Bears, that would be Green Bay last year scoring 41 and part of that 41 was due to Trubisky having 3 turnovers in that game, one of which was returned for a score (Fumble). So in terms of recent history, it is pretty rare, but the Bucs made a lot of History over the past year and a half, so I hope whatever stuff you are sniffing, snorting or stuffing up your nose to make you think that comes true.

I’m predicting a 35-14 win for the Bucs. This is a revenge game for them, the offensive line is playing fantastic, and this is a good game for the defensive front 7 to play like they were last season (especially if Lavonte plays).

Reading this article makes me think that games are won or lost based upon who can overcome injuries. When they went to a 17 game schedule, the NFLPA should have negotiated a second bye week. I believe the product would be better.

don’t jinx it please…

I am still a BIG believer in “ANY GIVEN SUNDAY”
So please while half the defense is on IR dont poke the Bear and I mean the Chicago Bears.
They DID beat us last year.
I was even miffed at Brady doing the Congrats to Rogers on owning the Da-Bears.
Dont give the opponent something they can hang on their locker and stew over.
This is a CLASSIC “Let Down” game in the making. My worry is the Bucs are reading the hype as opposed to being pissed at the loss last year.

Keep scoring until they stop you from scoring. No mercy this week. Who cares if you offend the opposing team by running up the score. Let the folks in Chicago know who the Bucs are.

Keep scoring until they stop you from scoring. No mercy this week. Who cares if you offend the opposing team by running up the score. Let the folks in Chicago know who the Bucs are. We’re friggin’ pirates. We plunder and steal. We don’t take a knee on the goal line. Let’s go!

We are the Super Bowl Champs, so a Chicago victory over us can “save their season” because they can say they beat the NFL Champs.
I too was puzzled why Brady embraced Rodgers, especially when we have to play the Bears next.

SB says. I think you are a realist not a pessimist. sometimes there’s a thin line between the two. I still haven’t recovered from the Jets beating Johnny Unitas. And even worse, The Pats losing to the rumbling bumbling stumbling Giants with Archie’s son, Peyton’s brother and Mrs. Manning’s son hahahaha Hall of fame my %$#

The number of times “this will be a blowout” that were blowouts is about the number of times womyn have called me handsome.
October 22nd, 2021 at 12:52 pm
Brady has been stellar at home. The Bears need either a number of big plays or the Bucs to totally beat themselves in order to win. The Bears just don’t have the offense to keep up. Fields is just not developed enough and they rely a lot on the run. It just plays into the Bucs strengths.
October 22nd, 2021 at 1:06 pm
Now we know Gronk, AB, David & Sherman are out.
Still predicting a blowout?
October 22nd, 2021 at 2:15 pm
Win by one or a hundred and one , we will take it. It would be nice to see TB12 with some pine time in the 2nd half.
October 22nd, 2021 at 3:02 pm
I think it’ll be a blowout.
October 22nd, 2021 at 3:24 pm
Cobra and Alton green – ROFL! Perfect.
October 22nd, 2021 at 3:49 pm
The bears are the seventh best rushing team in football. They really can’t do much else, maybe a bomb or two by Fields. We all know you can’t run on the bucs. This game, more than any on the weak schedule the bucs have, smells like a huge blowout. Brady was embarrassed by the forgotten down. He’ll take that as a slight, and go nuts. Bucs 45-18. Brady will be pulled midway through the fourth
October 22nd, 2021 at 3:56 pm
The Bears have kicked our a$$es the last couple of times that we played them, so I hope we put 70 on em.
October 22nd, 2021 at 4:41 pm
I predict redemption
October 22nd, 2021 at 5:00 pm
Apparently Biggs hasn’t seen the Bucs first 6 games of the season…lol. I expect a close game with our vaunted defense keeping the game closer than it should be.
October 22nd, 2021 at 10:06 pm
John O i agree, a second bye week would make for a better product and be beneficial to the health of the players
