Bruce Arians: Lavonte David Could Return Versus Bears
October 19th, 2021Good news from One Buc Palace.
It’s been nine days since Lavonte David left the Bucs-Dolphins game with a nasty ankle sprain that looked like a knee injury.
The messages were mixed from Bucco Bruce Arians regarding the severity of the injury, but things got clearer yesterday when Arians sat down with Dangerous Dan Lucas of WFLA-TV, Ch. 6.
Arians said David could play Sunday against the Bears at The Licht House. “Lavonte, I got my fingers crossed,” Arians said of the prospect of a David return. “Same with Gronk.”
For Joe, the point is not that David is a key player to have against the bumbling Bears. It’s that David is close to being ready. That means the ankle sprain, as those things go, is not especially serious.
Joe hopes Lavonte rests up Sunday and prepares to go full throttle against the Saints in New Orleans on Halloween. Joe has a feeling the Saints’ starting quarterback will be in a giving mood trying to go toe-to-toe with Tom Brady.

We can use him against the Bears, because they have a short passing game.

I think everyone knew LVD/Winfield/Gronk would soon be back. It WOULD be lovely however, if there is some sort of timeline for SMB and most importantly, Carlton Davis. I understand WHY BA may be keeping that close to the vest, but i also don’t see how there would be an upside to not sharing. We still dont know the nature of the quad injury. Grade 1, grade 2 type tear etc etc.

I would rather us take our chances against the Bears with a depleted defense and give LVD the extra week to recover.

“the Saints’ starting quarterback will be in a giving mood trying to go toe-to-toe with Tom Brady.”
I LOL’d

We’re 5-1. We do not need to be taking any risk with Lavonte or Gronk if they are not close to 100 percent. AWJr is only a matter of getting through protocol.

Glad to have David back whenever he is ready. Along with Winfield, those 2 are lightning quick when they decide to blitz or make a tackle. Fun to watch that action.

Causal Observer,
I’m not so sure that Lavonte will be “lightning quick” on a healing ankle this week. I’d rather the Bucs give him one more week off to heal up for the ‘Aints and Mr. Eat a Dubya.

“Whenever he is ready.”

Robert . Be careful what you say because Jamies has 12 touchdowns and only 3 picks. And remember he’s not even playing with his starting receivers . Payton will give Jamies a running game so he want have to throw 50 times .

@oneil. We just have to get up on points and make him start to sling it.

Gronk? No. Save him until after the break.
I like getting OJ and Cam more reps. It will pay off later in the season.

one of you guys said that DA BEARS have a short passing game. Ironically ESPN gives the Bucs an 81% chance of winning. The entire world, except for Todd B, knows that if a QB is on, he will carve up our secondary. So Todd, make their receiver’s life a living hell. Smack the living urine out fo the as soon as the ball is snapped. PLEASE!!!

Easy O’Neil, no need to get all hot and bothered by your man crush, JW! You’re right, he does only have 3 ints and so does Brady. Brady has also thrown over twice as many pass attempts. Want to talk about sacks? Both have 9 each. We’ll see which JW the bucs face in a few weeks. His stat line will have a 4 and 0 in it but it could be 4 tds/0 ints or 4 ints/0 tds. That’s how dangerous JW is!
We all know you get wood when ever Winston’s name is brought into the mix. Try to save that chub for your personal time and not for this page.

Agreed that there’s no urgent need to rush him back. If healthy, no-brainer!
There’s also no reason to look ahead. Lets beat the Bears first, then worry about the Saints.

finally an article where we dont call him pro bowler america’s quarterback. brady is the man!!
October 19th, 2021 at 6:18 pm
Do not rush it!
October 19th, 2021 at 8:33 pm
No need to rush either back, though LVD will be needed against the Saints.

Let the injured players rest & heal till after the bye.
