Tom Brady: Antonio Brown “Is A Football Genius”
October 11th, 2021Joe’s never heard Tom Brady or anyone else describe a wide receiver with this kind of language.
Sure, players are lauded for their “high football IQs” all the time, and every year there’s a quarterback or two lauded for his brilliance on the whiteboard under pressure. But you don’t hear the “G-word” thrown around from The Goat himself. And usually the word is reserved for a coach.
Asked about Antonio Brown’s success in Tampa during Let’s Go! on SiriusXM NFL Radio this evening, Brady seemed at a loss for words.
“He’s a football genius. It’s hard to explain to people,” Brady said of Brown. “You know, and I’m someone who’s been around some amazing players, it’s hard to explain to others the way that he sees the game versus everybody else. He’s truly a one-of-a-kind person, talent. I obviously admired him so much for what he did in Pittsburgh in his time there. He’s come to Tampa. He’s been focused completely on football and being a good teammate. All the guys really embraced him and really encouraged him at different moments. He’s proven to everybody what he’s still capable of.”
Brown is on a roll. Brady is elite. The Bucs have won 12 of their last 13 and the Tampa Bay decision-makers have made a lot of teams look bad with the Brown signing and re-signing.
Joe hopes the genius Brady speaks of in Brown — hopefully he’ll share details soon — rubs off on this great and young generation of Bucs receivers.

Fun to watch AB play b/c he is brilliant & sees things before they happen (just like Pete).
October 11th, 2021 at 7:05 pm
I was so happy that we signed Brown!
Some past regimes here in Tampa would not have signed him, because they were more concerned with fielding a Team of Choirboys. But Licht and Arians are here to win, and win now.

God it’s fun being a Bucs fan now.
October 11th, 2021 at 7:12 pm
Dare I say , I hope AB retires a Buc…..Long as he continues to be a better citizen why not . As much as I love Evans , AB is our best Wr
October 11th, 2021 at 7:13 pm
He was absolutely electric Sunday.
October 11th, 2021 at 7:14 pm
AB is the Kanye of football.
October 11th, 2021 at 7:31 pm
Chris, BA didn’t want AB. Brady had to go to bat for him. Arians and AB have a history from Pittsburgh.
October 11th, 2021 at 7:38 pm
That must be the difference Brady can detect. He clearly loves AB more than ME and CG, perhaps he cannot put into words , more likely AB has a vision of the game at a higher level which the two of them can get to while others cannot.

Pete the “realist” needs to up his meds
October 11th, 2021 at 7:54 pm
Either Brown’s brain has been occupied by a more benevolent entity or he accidentally grabbed hold of a mega volt downed power line and it rearranged his circuitry. Let’s face it; very few metamorphose from raving lunatic to model citizen in the course of a few months.
I was initially against the signing, not for his talent, but for his public bursts of insanity. Now, there are very few ball snatchers I’d pick before him.
What an incredible turnaround!
The short TD strike he caught was a rifle shot behind his body flow, a pass many would have dropped due to its velocity and the quick body movement required to catch it from behind. But AB made it look like a single motion, effortless task.
Extremely impressive!

Haha @buxszntkt. Poor ME and CG. Tommy loves AB more. Is it because AB is more cute and cuddlely? Or is it that Tommy knows AB needs more positive support to keep his head on straight. AB is a talented head case. ME and CG are solid and don’t need emotional support to perform at a high level. Tom is both a QB and a coach who has salvaged AB and his career.

TB is a good evaluator. I believe Sherman will improve after few games. The Bucs should hire him as the top scout consultant after his retirement.
October 11th, 2021 at 8:08 pm
I for one am glad we had some WR injuries last season or AB may very well not even be a Buc. Funny how things work out.
October 11th, 2021 at 8:20 pm
AB is the best WR on the team without question. 6 straight 100 catches. I was behind the Bucs signing him when they did and posted many times to that fact. I thought the Bucs would get the church mouse version of AB concerning off the field, and a HOF talent on the field. The long TD catch against Miami reminds everyone about the level / extra gear AB has that Mike and Chris have not shown. Again AB is the best WR on the Bucs and one of the best in the NFL. His path to the HOF seems to be back on track. Time will tell.
GO BUCS!!!!!

As I’ve said multiple times, Antonio Brown is the best WR on this team, which is scary considering that his teammates are Evans and Godwin. Hard to imagine but his peak was spent in Pittsburgh.
October 11th, 2021 at 8:44 pm
Licht has done one hell of an Al Davis impression in getting some great players who’s teams thought that they were expendable. No one wanted Brown, we got JPP for a measly third rounder, and Shaq was castoff by Denver. In hindsight I’m pi$$ed at Licht for not drafting a corner until the 7th round this year, but overall, he’s been brilliant recently.
October 11th, 2021 at 8:53 pm
It was Brady’s influence. Arians didn’t want him but Brady insisted. I get it though as Arians didn’t have a good experience with Brown in Pittsburgh. Licht had the right to say no, so he deserves credit here too.

Pete has got to be the old Pablo troll or the realist troll maybe they’re all the same troll
October 11th, 2021 at 9:11 pm
Gruden just got fired
October 11th, 2021 at 9:25 pm
Wild Bill, you’re spot on. Coach Brady knows what his teammates need.

MAGA Make Antonio Great Again
October 11th, 2021 at 11:59 pm
I think he signs another one year deal to stay with Brady next year. I don’t think it’ll be more than that though because I can’t see how they can afford it but they have to sign Godwin also. They can’t let Godwin go, he’s several years younger than Evans and Brown
October 12th, 2021 at 12:00 am
Brown is such an amazing athlete . He cuts and darts through his patterns. He runs to the ball and catches everything thrown near him .
The best NFL wide receiver over the past ten years is exploding again with Tom Brady feeding him the ball. Keeps himself in great shape.
October 12th, 2021 at 4:35 am
AB appears to out fox the coverage and he doesn’t drop many. Let’s just hope he stays focused on a good path and we’ll support and encourage him, great playing AB.
October 12th, 2021 at 6:52 am
Medicated Pete … Not only do you ‘sees things before they happen’ but you apparently see things that never happened or will ever happen. I know, it’s a unique gift. Kinda like the sign my wife gave me that reads ‘I live in my own little world, but it’s OK, they know me here’.
October 12th, 2021 at 7:40 am
Truly crazy people can have periods of lucidity, let’s hope this one lasts until Coach Brady retires after the 2028 season. It doesn’t matter who gets the most targets with the current rules, the way Tom is slinging it, and the seventeenth game AB ME & CG could all get 1000+ yards and 10+TDs , shoot the way it’s going Tyler Johnson might get 600 yards.
October 12th, 2021 at 9:15 am
Antonio Brown has a complete history of outstanding play. However he has been out of the game for the past two years do to some civil problems with the NFl. Even at the Patriots game when it was raining and cloudy he out ran the Patriots players and came very close to making an outstanding catch for a long touchdown. We should support AB now and resign him for next year!!
October 12th, 2021 at 10:13 am
Antonio is certainly an elite player, but he’s mercurial, his playing is in warp speed. Just as he can turn on dime and out maneuver anyone , his moods follow
Suite , players that have history of erratic behavior can come apart anytime.
I hope he’s found a home here. This is a very special time in Tampa
October 12th, 2021 at 10:27 am
Seems to me:
AB is the best receiver at getting separation between the 20 yard lines.
Godwin is the most physical receiver over the middle and the best blocking receiver.
Evans is the best red zone target.
Pretty exciting to have them all.
October 12th, 2021 at 1:37 pm
AB’s a gifted player, but he’s also a criminal psycho who should be behind bars. I guess if you’ve got friends like Brady, they can help you stay of prison.
It’s only a matter of time.
October 12th, 2021 at 6:40 pm
Think all AB needed was his meds on a daily basis. Then he needed to get away from Pittsburgh. He had a lot on his shoulders there. In Tampa Bay he has relaxed and is enjoying the game now. Plus he’s taking his meds on time. Hahahahaha
October 13th, 2021 at 2:12 pm
This is all good, but could you have chosen a better picture of AB. The image used of him appears to contradict the title of this article. 🤡
October 13th, 2021 at 2:16 pm
There 2 very simple reasons why AB made a completely turn around! 1. TB aka the GOAT! Players see/know/respect his greatness and want to achieve their own personal version of that when playing with him cuz they know they got a legitimate shot at winning SB’s, yes plural 2. AB knows his very small window is closing rapidly for his playing career, which he knows he almost ended himself solely based on his own behavior regardless of how truly gifted he is as a Wr! So I think with his time off those two years it kind of reignited his flame and love for the game & noticed now much he loves and wants it! He’s got his money and he’s got his fame, now he’s wants his SB rings so he can build on his legacy! He knows no better player to do that w then the GOAT himself! I think Fournette is a very similar situation too! Among other! TB is the living/breathing/throwing embodiment of greatness and players want their slice of it too!

Brown fits right in. He can still bring it and with Evans and Godwin. The Bucs are hard to beat.
