Buccaneers Take Over NFC South Lead
October 10th, 2021It was more than just another “W” today.
The Bucs’ 45-17 blowout win was wonderfully complemented by the Stinkin’ Panthers being on the wrong end of a comeback win by the Eagles at Carolina.
That means the Bucs are 4-1 and alone in first place in the NFC South. Carolina falls to 3-2, as the slimy Saints won a thriller at Washington. The Saints also are 3-2 with an earlier loss to the Panthers.
Tampa Bay is exactly where it needs to be through five weeks with the Eagles (2-3) up next on Thursday night football.
The Bucs haven’t won the division since the Earnest Graham exposion of 2007, when the defense was smothering and Jeff Garcia had a Pro Bowl season.

Feels good.
Nice offensive explosion in that 2nd half to put the game away.

Downside is the Saints finally seemed to have opened up what was an ultra-conservative offense, and they put up over 30 on what was supposed to be a very good Redskins defense. On a positive note, the Saints defense does not look as good as expected, but they’ve got a number of injuries. Not sure if the injuries are season enders or not.

Philly is now on target. DBs need to step up. DL needs to grasp and control. Let at least 3 sacks go with bad tackling.

The Panthers losing 2 and a row will hopefully tank them.
However the Bucs now play the Eagles on a short week on the road. That game is no gimmie, the Eagles are going to move the ball at will on this sorry a– defense. Bucs should win, but these Thursday night games are generally very sloppy.

Payton still don’t trust Winston. They are still heavy on the run. I ain’t sweating New Orleans.

Winston was under 50% and barely managed to hit that mark at end I think. Low yardage. That offense still mostly Kamara and one TD was where he threw it up and crossed his fingers

nothing, absolutely nothing has changed

The TD at the end of the first half for New Orleans would normally be called a “Hail Mary” throwing into a crowd of players from both teams, but given Fameis lifetime achievements I do not think any “religious” reference is appropriate for him.

Kamara should be their offense, he’s the best RB in football who is probably a starting WR for half the teams in the NFL.
As for the Saints, they have ZERO NFL-level WRs. Calloway is the closest thing they have and he had a big day today – and by big, I mean 85 yards (but 2 TDs).
Slantboy will be back soon, and give Winston a legit NFL for the first time all year, and that’s bad news for us as the pass defense is absolutely the worst I’ve ever seen.
But the best news for the Bucs is that Saints defense hasn’t looked amazing since week 1, due in large part to injuries. The stupid Saints will, like always, win at least 1 against us, I just don’t want another sweep. Although in years when we win the SB, the Saints sweep the Bucs in the regular season.

2 weeks in a row I rooted for the stupid Eagles. Glad that ends this week.

Cuborn Winston was at 50% today because of drops. Even Kamara dropped a would be long td. Saints are missing 3 starting lineman top 3 wrs and still put up 30 points. Winston is at 60% 892yds 12tds 3int 1 fum 1 rushing td 108.1 qb rating. Saints #1 in redzone offense and defense #2 turnover differential. With 2 (now 3) lineman (C, LT, and now LG) out along with top 3 wrs out. Winston isn’t perfect but the Bucs would be foolish to take him lightly.
