When D-Linemen Are On The Same Page
October 6th, 2021Joe cannot get enough of watching this play again and again.
This is known as football choreography. And it produced sweet music.
This is Joe Tryon-Shoyinka’s second sack against the Belicheats, and his second sack of what Joe sure hopes is a long Bucs career. But check out how it came together.
Manbeast Vita Vea plows inside with the goal of taking out the Belicheats’ left tackle, enabling JTS to spring free. Not only does Vea shove the left guard out of the way like a sloppy drunk at the bar standing in front of the bathroom door, Vea totally pancakes the left tackle.
That left a wide open path for JTS to use his speed as he buries Belicheats quarterback Mac Jones.
Who said the PAC-12 is soft?
Great work by Vita Vea creating the surge/penetration that takes out two OL.
As a result, this frees up Joe Tryon-Shoyinka. Creating a clear path to Mac Jones.
I love seeing a good stunt work to perfection! pic.twitter.com/kMRd3T8Mu2

Joe…..JTS had many close calls as well. He put a lot of pressure on Jones.
For a rook in probably the biggest game of his career so far I think he shined big time. Let’s hope it just continues.

Man, their #76 reminds me of our #76 on that play.

JTS length and speed is crazy. Nothing but up hill week to week.

76 vs 76 haha
October 6th, 2021 at 1:19 am
That was 67s fault not picking up Tryon coming inside on the stunt.
October 6th, 2021 at 2:11 am
I might be wrong.
On second look it looks like Patriots #76 is actually trying to block and getting beat.
Our #76 prefers to loaf or just take the whole damn play off.

Vea is obviously a beast & too much for 1 OLineman to handle. Besides JTS’s excellent moves to take advantage of Vea’s blocking to get to Jones, also fascinating to watch Shaq on that play. He got swung in back of the play but stayed close enough to force Jones to move up a couple of steps in the pocket, right as JTS closed in on him.. A thing of beauty.

@DoooshLaRue,
That’s no longer true since Brady has come. Donovan just got worked by a more talented player in Judon.

Bucs would run that play 10 times a game for 5yrs straight w/ Adrian Clayborn & it never worked even once. Smh

Vea + JTS = explosive
October 6th, 2021 at 6:40 am
Vita Vea is an absolute animal.

I believe that Joe pointed out, prior to the game, that this particular officiating crew keeps their hankies in their pockets for the most part. Good thing because a different crew may have flagged JTS for helmet to helmet or “playing to rough” or some such nonsense. See “Cowboys @ Bucs” earlier this year.

Vea is bouncing those Lineman like some drunk just broke a beer bottle over his head,

Tryon is so quick. Going be fun watching this kid. He does over pursue at times he’ll learn but dam he’s athletic!
October 6th, 2021 at 7:25 am
Do this more?
October 6th, 2021 at 7:48 am
Sweet…
October 6th, 2021 at 8:33 am
Awesome. And very happy to see Shaq was right behind him after getting thru a double team. Nice work D-line. Now maybe our schedule gives us some time for our DBs to heal up so we can go on a run.
October 6th, 2021 at 8:45 am
Vita is quickly becoming my fav Bucs player.

Still wondering how Tryon fell to 32nd in the draft? Bet there are a few teams kicking themselves. He, VV and Barrett get used to playing as a unit and THAT will be scary! Plus, all 3 are healthy, always a plus especially with the secondary being banged up.

When JPP comes back move him inside on passing downs, and let the young kid stay on the field. That would be a nightmare for O lineman.

@lambchop
Agree. Judon just played lights out. He played like DW45 normally plays and will play once again when he finds his groove.
Judon is just a beast!

76 def was assigned to JTS but Vea took him out. 67 was focused on Vea (his guy) and could not re-adjust to do anything about JTS.
A thing of beauty indeed!
I’ve been thinking a lot this year about how we have the horses to run stunts and actually make them successful now. Vea bulldozes 2 guys allowing JTS or Shaq to loop inside and get to the QB.
Tempering expectations a little as the Pats don’t have a great o-line, but I hope to see much more of this through the season.
