Crazy Stats On Tom Brady

October 5th, 2021

Unreal milestone.

Joe is just blown away that the Bucs’ quarterback is the all-time passing leader in NFL history.

Given some quarterbacks who played for the Bucs since this site was born, that is just wildly unimaginable. About on the same level of Joe coming home to Rachel Watson.

Well, Jeff Kerr over at CBS Sports has a few other wild facts about Brady. Among those are that Brady has more passing yards by himself than four other franchises.

Wild. And some of those four teams have had good quarterbacks, too.

Joe doesn’t know what all readers think, but man, the Bucs won the Powerball with this guy.

Bucs are so lucky John Lynch & the 49er’s didn’t want TB12.

  2. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Yes, Brady wanted to go to the 49ers, because he is a San Francisco California Bay Area boy, but the 49ers did not want him. LOL, They felt that Jimmy Garappolo was better!
    Imagine that ?
And, get this, the 49ers could have got him cheap too, because that is where he wanted to go finish his career.
Tampa Bay was his second choice.

  3. Buczilla Says:

After enduring mostly sorry a$$ qb play for most of our team’s existence, the wheel of karma, through us a bone with Brady.

  4. 163doubleplay Says:

BUCS Fans, enjoy this team while it last. We may never have a legend play for us after this.

You may be right, but one thing we have going for us when Brady leaves/retires is our front office. They have handled Brady perfectly, giving him everything he wants/ needs. That may attract other very good Free agent QBs down the line.

  6. ATLBucsFan Says:

When they quote that statistic they will have to say he played for the Bucs, not New England!!

  7. '79 Defense Says:

I’ll say it again– for probably the tenth time– I still can’t believe the Bucs are now somehow associated with the greatest QB ever. And he didn’t come here to have his career die. He won it all (already) and could possibly do it again.

That record breaking pass to Evans sure was a mess. Too bad it wasn’t clear cut.

  8. Sparky Says:

    @163doubleplay

We had legends before TB, we will have legends after him. We will never have another GOAT again, but thats because there is only one.

  9. webster Says:

Brady did not want to go to San Fran. He wanted to stay close to his son who lives in NY as he stated countless times. Thats why the talks of the Saints, Miami (which he already has a house), Indy and Tennessee came up. The California squads was just chum in the water because he was from LA and those who clearly did not hear him say he wanted to go somewhere where he can remain close to his son bought the whole San Fran thing hook line and sinker. Guess what, they were talking the chargers too. I guess the chargers told brady no as well.

  10. Pickgrin Says:

Jimmy G was obviously “that MFer”

    Bad call John Lynch….

  11. Tampabaybucfan Says:

My thought is that through the years we have given up #1 draft picks for QBs……and Brady didn’t even cost us a 7th round conditional pick.

  12. HC Grover Says:

All our number ones flounder around here and then go someplace and win the Super Bowl.

  13. DoooshLaRue Says:

    webster,

I know you claim to only espouse facts, so I’m befuddled as to your statement about TB not wanting to go to the 49ers.
I know you’re much more intelligent than all of us on here, but would you care to share where you found your info?

I found the article below that basically says you’re full of sh!t:

    ________

After making the decision to leave New England back in February 2020, Tom Brady apparently already had his mind made up about who he was going to sign with during free agency — and it definitely wasn’t the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

According to a new book by ESPN’s Seth Wickersham, Brady was hoping to end his career with the San Francisco 49ers. According to the book, which is titled “It’s Better To Be Feared,” Brady actually reached out to his good friend Wes Welker, who had just finished his first season as the receivers coach for the 49ers.

During the conversation, which happened at some point after the 49ers lost to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, Brady made it clear he would immediately sign with the 49ers if they would have him.

In an excerpt from the book (via NBC Bay Area), Brady promised Welker that there would be “no free-agency tour, no bidding war, full stop; he would end his career where his love of football began, in scarlet and gold, allowing his parents to drive to (his) games for the first time since the 1990s.”

  14. Winny Testaverde Says:

Medicated is comfortably numb and in the zone. The 49ers soiled themselves something awful ( yes…Jimmy G-String was the much speculated MFer ). So how do they make a bad situation worse? Cough up a pile of picks for the right to draft TreyLance…who may be ok one day. But not today…not today. Gagging away that Super Bowl to the Chiefs will leave a stubborn stain. Shanahan has a knack for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in Super Bowls. Guess he didn’t watch Brady lead a 25 point comeback in just over a quarter of football vs his then Falcons.

  15. Steven007 Says:

Doosh, Good info. Now for the unknowable, would he have one at all with San Fran? Glad we don’t have an answer to that. For once our good fortune to be the second choice.

    ——-

Also, the 49ers let us trade up one spot to nab Tristan Wirfs. The other equally huge piece to our puzzle that the 49ers ultimately passed on. Ty Shanahan!

  17. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Steven007,

    Unknowable?
    I think not.

I’m sure the omnipotent webster will know and he’ll be sure to school us.

    He’s a smart lil’ fella.

  18. Buxszntkt Says:

    Thanks for clarifying that Webster.
Remember , Tommy is a baby daddy !! He wasn’t leaving his eldest son to play in a different time zone. He wanted to be in same time zone , that narrowed his choices .

  19. D-Rok Says:

Consider, if you will, the importance that for every single completed Brady pass from now on, sets a new record. Each pass is a new record. Let that sink in….GO BUCS!!!!

  20. D-Rok Says:

Doesn’t that blow your mind, Joe’s? A Bucs QB will set the NFL passing record about 20-30 times per game for the rest of the season!!!! How cool is that? It blows my mind more than Meddy-Man Pete does. 🙂

  21. JimmyJack Says:

But the record Brady broke was 80k something? Maybe this is adding up playoff yards too?

  22. Crickett Baker Says:

I got to watch some horrible quarterbacks. Horrible. Williams, Testaverde, and Young to name a few. These guys left the Bucs (thankfully) and then went on to become stars for some reason. It is so nice for a star to come here, and NOW, we have two more things. A kicker (which is a miracle, indeed) and some kinda luck that we haven’t had too often and I hope I don’t jinx. That statistic is truly wild, Joe.

  23. DoooshLaRue Says:

    JJ,

Yes, playoffs are included in that total.

  24. E.V. Says:

We just need a new Offensive coordinator please…. Leftwitch was like a average QB if that. Can we get a sean Payton, Kellen Moore Dallas, Reid Chief’s,mcgay Rams, chargers etc. I mean leftwitch???????

  25. Brady4eva Says:

One stat I’d like to see is the number of different receivers who caught passes from TB12 compared to the other top qbs with yardage and tds on the list behind Brady. He never had a slew of talent to throw to with the exception of Moss, Gronk, Branch and Edelman, etc. whereas Manning, Marino and others had legit star receivers for long periods of time. Brady did it throwing to a bunch of no-names who are long forgotten once they left the Pat’s. Anyone remember Chris Hogan for example?

So I wonder how many different players caught passes and touchdowns from: Brady, Manning, Brees, Favre, Marino, etc. My guess is TB12 has that record as well.
