Bruce Arians Calls Out His Punter
September 29th, 2021Perhaps the Bucs’ fourth-down ugliness on Sunday is off the mind of Bucco Bruce Arians now that the Bucs signed five-time Pro Bowl cornerback Richard Sherman this morning.
Arians wasn’t mincing words on his weekly radio show yesterday. After a stellar opening day, Super Bowl punter Bradley Pinion was brutal in Los Angeles.
Arians didn’t mince words.
“It was a very poor job,” Arians via the Buccaneers.com stream. “Bradley’s been playing great. [It was] something you’d never expect, you know, a 15-yarder and a 30 down the middle. Thank God we covered it really, really well. It gave them too much great field position and it’s not acceptable. He’s too good a player to have a game like that.”
Well said, Coach. The “30 down the middle” was actually on his first punt of the game, a 38-yarder missing good hang time. It was a returned nine yards and the Rams’ first possession subsequenly was on their own 42 yard line.
Pinion may be the least of Bucs’ concerns, though it is disturbing to see a punter miss two in one game.

Maybe the Bucs should go draft a punter now.

When you have to call out players on all 3 phases it starts with your team not being ready BA, maybe own up to it next time.

Bradley Pinion doesn’t make those kinds of mistakes. Gut feel is that there’s more to the story. The snap? The blocking? The noise? Whatever.

Licht WILL draft a punter in the 2nd Rd TRUST ME. He pisses away 2nd rd picks

The super bowl hangover is real. These players still have their heads in the clouds. Maybe a good smack in the face is just what this team needed. Signing Sherman injuries aside, should be a wake up call to the locker room that you can always be replaced, and we’re looking. It’s not just the players though. B.A., and his crew were totally out coached also.

Lovie S 2.0 aka Mr Magoo, continue his trend as TV 🤡, siding with media against his players….. what a joke.

Pinion by far is one of the most consistent players. There are a lot more of the same slackers on Defense the last three weeks that need to be called out. Coaching was also pretty bad in the Rams game on both sides of the ball. Maybe BA should be calling the DC and OC out this week instead of Pinion.

We need to stop acting like bad days don’t happen. Nobody is perfect every game. Drops will happen, missed tackles will happen, and let’s not forget bad coaching will happen. So when coaches say stuff like this, I pay it no mind. Now when it becomes a repeating situation, then yeah, speak on it.

Pinion was not that good Sunday, but history shows he is one of the most consistent Bucs.
That shank hurt.

It’s the story of my life : One day I’m at the the top of the heap, next day I’m at the bottom of the barrel.

Feels like last year Chicago game all over again……

The shanked punts were bad….but are few from Pinion….what was the worst was the dropped (layup) interception by Dean………that, my friends, could have been a game changer.

Pinion had a bad game. We all saw it. BA spoke about it. Not some doublespeak. Plain. Clear.
He ought to also speak about the overall flatness of the team. That would seem to be a poor job by the coaches.
It’s one game. It’s over.

We need a focus coach crying out loud perhaps the Bucs all got a 5G / microwave blast in their hotel rooms the night before. Every aspect of this team was incapable of focus.

Grab the best college punter in the 2nd Round of the Draft

Coach him up BA. Or stick to the script and have Tom do it
September 29th, 2021 at 5:04 pm
Seriously? How often does he shank a punt, it happens. BA loves to call out everyone except himself and his assistants. At least Belichick would share in the blame. Put him out to pasture, you saw what a young mind can do. (McVay). Played him like a fiddle.

Fear of success is just as bad (if not worse) than fear of failure. Last week he won the NFL award for his kicking and this week he had to prove to himself that he didn’t deserve it.

He’s paid too much to be making some of the worst punts i’ve ever seen in an nfl game.
