Tommy Is At It Again

September 28th, 2021

Salesman.

With apologies to Britney Spears, oops, he did it again.

Since Mr. Seven Rings, salad-bar-hating, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller-coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved, helmet-tossing, football-punting, Bucs-Super-Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady came to Tampa Bay, he has been quite a salesman.

He helped get foot-rubbing, car-littering, film guru tight end Rob Gronkowski to agree to pull himself off the couch and join him, and  he was instrumental in furniture-tossing, bicycle-throwing Antonio Brown coming to Tampa and he sure didn’t hurt in luring Leonard Fournette to the Bucs.

Now it seems Tommy was working behind the scenes to grease the wheels for Sherman to visit the Bucs today, per Mike Garafolo of NFL.com.

This guy Brady has been a godsend to this area, forget for a brief moment the Bucs.

The fact he is using his star power of persuasion and charm to help get solid veterans to seriously consider the Bucs is just icing on the cake for what he brings to the team.

Which is substantial.

Is it too early to ask for a Brady statue outside of the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway?

  5. Alanbucsfan Says:

No player in Bucs history has had more of an impact on the franchise –
    and he’s only 1 1/2 year in, …. GOAT

  6. Darin Says:

Pete. Stare at on old orange Bucs jersey all day. That’ll raise serotonin levels.

  7. Tackleblockwin Says:

Tampa Tom has always valued smart experienced football players. Yes, Sherman is not what he once was, but we need someone. Sherman will bring his football IQ, which is half the battle in this league.

  8. SB Says:

Still not digging the Sherman idea.

  9. SufferingSince76 Says:

SB, who would you suggest the Bucs go after if not Sherman?

  10. SlyPirate Says:

This team is 0-3 with JW under center.

I watched a “highlight” of Winston heaving an ill advised pass as he was falling backwards for a TD. Peyton has that WTF? look on his face that we all know.

It’s amazing how far we’ve come at QB.

  11. crazyBucs_CL Says:

Can he help get better coaching?

  13. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

Bring in Gareon Conley who has shutdown ability and he is not old and worn. At least take a look at 2 or 3 different guys , not just Sherman.

  17. buxszntkt Says:

@ 163, PLEASE ! Belicheat is a miserable curmudgeon. I would hate listinging to that dooooshe each week give his presser, with meaningless short answers that tell you absolutely nothing. At least make some effort to mislead the people listening , make it entertaining.

  18. Dewey Selmon Says:

The Bucs would have reached out anyways to Sherman but when Mr. 7 rings gives his blessing them come.

  19. Dewey Selmon Says:

He is a body, but the is a body with veteran experience. He could be as bad as #35’s first game in Seattle when he wore his red sleeves.

  20. firethecannons Says:

we need more than him dee dela ney needs a major inservice

  21. EA Says:

Richard “hey you mad bro?” Sherman could join Tom Brady, who would have thunk.

  22. Tampabaybucfan Says:

OK Joe, go ahead and add it….”free agent recruiting”

  23. Infomeplease Says:

Some of RS’s cb knowledge could very well rub off on all these young guys back in the secondary. What he lacks in speed he makes up for in anticipation. He is known as a good leader.. someone who will toughen up the defense. That’s why TB12 wants him here!! GO BUCS!!
