The bad news is the Saints won. The good news is Winston looks no different. Pick worthy passes all day but managed to get away with them. To be fair one of his ugly passes avtually went for a TD. Had me laughing my but off though.

This team will go as far as the offense can take them. 20th last year…30th this year against the pass. They are what they are, and it’s OK because of the way the game is constructed now. I mean, great, we got the TD – I’m happy about that. But using that series as an example that Leftwich is a great coach is pretty dumb. We could have just ran it up the middle and scored in 2 plays. Or just had Brady throw it to Gronk or Evans and scored in 1 play. Again, I don’t care if it takes 1 or 3 plays, but to say that series of events proves he’s elite… uh, no.

@1976 – the only 1st down run I took issue with was the one from inside the 10 on 1st down. Defense was clearly selling out to stop the run pre-snap.

An actual all-time great defense was sunk by corner depth, the 2003 Bucs lost Brian Kelly during that Indy-MNF game and that was it. They had no depth, the backups stunk, teams just picked on that one spot in the defense and while they were still really really good, they were no longer an all-time great defense.

Bowles needs to stop calling plays like a coward, go all out — if you get beat, it’s OK, we have Brady, we will get some points. The only reason we didn’t get points to end the first half is because stupid Bowles let the Rams run the clock down. Just blitz all out, send the house, every play, yes, they will absolutely burn you and get TD’s, but maybe, just maybe, you’ll actually make a play, get a stop or even a score on defense. Meanwhile just tell Brady, you got to score on every drive, the defense isn’t stopping anything today. Also, on offense, use all 4-downs.
If the Rams come out, take 9 mins off the clock and get a TD to go up 21-7, then the game is over. If they come out, we send the house, and they take 55 seconds off the clock to go up 21-7, the game is not over.
There’s only scenario where things are helpless, and that is if you let the Rams eat the clock AND score TDs.

People still talking about Sherman… if he’s not faster than Cockwell, then it doesn’t matter. Cockwell’s probably isn’t being in the wrong place or not knowing how to cover guys, it’s that he’s too slow to keep up.
Speed is everything, and if Sherman isn’t at least a 4.5 guy still, maybe 4.6 on the outside, he’s not going to help unless you’re moving him to safety.

The Bucs front 7 didn’t do much last year either in the regular season, don’t you guys remember having this exact same conversation for most weeks that wasn’t the Packers game?
People seem to only remember the playoffs, and not this frustrating defense that would let people nickle and dime it to death – then beat-up on some bad teams (like the Falcons) to pad its stats.
Bowles needs to send the house, show those exotic blitzes and not wait until the 4th quarter to do so.

Too many dang mistakes. We are not beating good teams with this many mistakes. And the mistakes are mostly coming on offense with Gronk responsible for more then 4(but to be fair its a bad call to ask him to play Donald 1v1).
Time for Bowles to unleash some plays and give our D a chance to make a play. Our passrush after Vea(he saved a TD) is not existent and our secondary doesnt look like they can hold up without one. The redzone D is a major redflag moving forward right now……I understand the Rams are very good but they are fooling us with the same look and we arent even challenging them. Hopefully we have an adjustment ready………….Also for all the flack our CBs will get(im betting) Antoine Winfield is absolutely suck out loud right now. He may as well not be on the field the way he is playing centerfidld today.
Look for a big play on 1st and 10. If not on playaction our RBs are getting the chanses to make plays.
All in all we got a lot to work on. Fun game and peaking in December is just fine. We are a ways away.

Thing is, it’s not just one game. This is now the 3rd game in a row the DL can’t get pressure and the secondary got roasted. And it’s getting worse, not better.
There is a very serious problem that needs to be fixed or you can forget defending the title. And no, Richard Sherman isn’t the solution. There is a MUCH deeper problem with that unit. Replacing one CB won’t make a difference.
This isn’t a “wake up call.” This game is proof that the Bucs defense is seriously exposed. Every team in the league knows how to beat us.

The officiating was really poor and mostly in favor of the Rams (completely diferente calls on similar plays, seems like Rams players can be as aggressive as they want with no consequences) but when you play this badly on defense against a top tier team there are no excuses.

Well this was a thorough beatdown. We lose on both lines of scrimmage. Winfield is my dog of the week. And Devin White is just a warm body out there. Pretty much anything this defense was good at last year we have gotten worse at. Redzone defense being my top concern.
Offense making too many mistakes at this point to play with a contender. We better fix our protection too if we wanna make another run.

To be a little fair to Bowles he actually chaged the entire game with the most perfect call of the game and Winfield looked like a below average saftety and never really had a chance to make the play.

why do they keep talking about Stafford? Rams defense was the star of this game, and after that it was their OL. Had Stafford been more accurate they could’ve put up 50.
