Bruce Arians Says He’s Having Too Much Fun To Quit
September 23rd, 2021Tampa Bay’s greatest head coach turns 69 next month and sounds like a man at Busch Gardens without a bunch of kids killing his vibe.
Bucco Bruce Arians was a guest of ESPN Radio this morning and was asked by a former Bucs great how long he wants to keep grinding.
Arians sort of rejected the notion that he’s feeling any wear and tear.
Keyshawn Johnson: How much longer are you going to wake up, go in, watch film and do all this all over again every single year?
Bruce Arians: I’m having so much fun right now, Key, I don’t know. You know, there’s going to be a day when I wake up and say, ‘I don’t want to go to work.’ That hasn’t happened yet. I love my guys. We have a great staff. Now if the staff gets all broken up — and I hope some of those guys get head coaching jobs; they deserve it — then maybe we’ll re-evaluate. But right now I’m having too much fun.
Joe was glad to hear this. Careful what you wish for if you think Arians riding off on Devin White’s horse is just fine because Todd Bowles will step in.
Team Glazer made the right move giving Arians a raise without being asked this offseason. And Joe suspects money will be a factor whether Arians admits that publicly or not.
Everyone has a price, and if Arians’ health is good, Team Glazer should find that price and meet it.

I’d rather have Bucco Bruce around than start over. Our coaching history has not been good

I suspect this is the last year for these Bucs …
1. Too many free agents with too much success. Licht was able to resign because of the cap restricted year. Cap goes up next year.
2. Too many aging players. Their bodies are already falling apart (JPP). They won’t be able to go next year after another long playoff run.
3. Coaches looking to move up. Bowles and/or BL will get their shot if the Bucs make two Super Bowls with a top offense and defense.
4. Brady’s Family. They didn’t want him to return. He likely won’t be able to say “no” again.

Brady loves it here! Ben Green, I mean Bill Belichick, is mad.

JPP’s injury status and age do have me concerned. His shelf life might be limited, or at least the perception of this shelf life might look limited to the front office. He’s a ProBowler and one of the most complete OLBs in the game today. I sure hope he’s back soon, and I hope he has plenty left in the gas tank. He is not someone you easily replace.

Hey Belichick, I mean Ben Green, what is your all time head coaching record without Brady?
Waiting…

@Joe … “Everyone has a price”. Seems like kind of a pessimistic view of humanity Joe. I’m sure that there are many who can ‘be bought’, but I’ve also known many others who’ve found a purpose in life that far transcends money.
That sounds nice, but if Team Glazer says, “Bruce, stay another year and we’ll match donations to your foundation up to 1 million a year for the next 10 years …”–Joe
Whether BA is one of those is anybody’s guess, but I suspect that he is. He’s got the best HC job in the NFL right now, and he knows it. It’s ‘fun’ working in an environment like that, but things can change in a heartbeat as BA also knows full well I’m sure. He doesn’t strike me as a man ‘driven by money’.

Some irony having Keyshawn interviewing a super bowl winning Bucs coach. His exit sure was fugly.

74 Bucs Fan – to be fair to the hoodie – he improved and learned a lot after his Cleveland days. He did go 11-5 with Matt Cassel in 2008 when Brady busted his knee in the first game.

Is anyone else starting to feel like Pats fans are the new Cowboys fans? These NE fans are so blind of their own situation it’s ridiculous. The cold has frozen their brains.

If and when we lose Brady, Gronk, Leftwich and Bowles I see a possibility where BA might stick around. If he truly sees something special in Kyle Trask that most of us don’t see, then I could see the old “quarterback whisperer” hanging around for the challenge re-inspired.

Losing high priced aging FA’s only means we’ll free up money to bring in younger FA’s. When Suh, and JPP come off the books, just use that cash to bring other players in. As long as Tom’s here, they will come. When Tom leaves in two years, there’s another 27 million. That’s why drafting Trask, and grooming him to take over made sense short sighted Buc fans.

I just hope that we have our coordinators in board that they will stick around and take over as HC when Arians leaves………In a perfect world one of them will get a great job offer from a well run franchise, the other will have a great opportunity staying here.
And I could see Bruce staying one year beyond when Brady leaves. Just to do a thorough analysis of the QB position if we plan on playing somebody inexperienced. Im guessing he wants to set them up for success.

Joe, I can tell you are young. When you are 69 years old you already have all you need and much you can’t take with you. VERY few “have a price” at this age unless Father Time starts giving out chits. Bruce doesn’t need money he needs enjoyment and he and Moore are getting lots.

It wont be trask that gets arians to stay but i could see rodgers or wilson getting him to stay and maybe one or two other vet qbs that are really good and not in the best situations rn

CJbuc give it up Rogers ain’t coming to Tampa and Wilson definitely ain’t coming . Trask is the quarterback of the future they almost drafted him in the first round. Yall need to stop with the Rogers and I hope they don’t bring him in because I’ve been saying this a long time now. If you go up on Green Bay by 17 in the third quarter you will beat the Packers every time. Are less the defense give Rogers back the ball on short feilds. Other than that Rogers plays for his stats.

Better late than never, Joe.
Don’t stress it… you still ROCK.

Hodad I agree.
Bringing in talent WILL NOT be an issue when Brady is around.
BA’s responses line up perfectly with Brady saying he could play until 50.
Kinda like Brady is saying 50 so Gisele will quit asking for 3 more years.
If he does play until 50 there could be at least 2 more SB wins.
Should he get to 9 at 48 let’s say, he’ll be back.
Records will drop like Pam Anderson’s panties.

Hodad I agree with everything you said bro . Trask is the future of quarterback of the bucs. I don’t understand why so many don’t like Trask . He out played all the top quarterbacks that got picked in the first round last year. He played against tougher teams as well. I’m behind Trask a 100 percent after Brady leaves.

Onelilbuc:
Why is it that you love Jamies ( I rooted for him too…for 5 years…until it was over and he showed his truest colors last season dancing in the visiting locker room etc. ) and can’t wait for The Kyle Trask Era to kick off? You can’t be a Bucs fan…because it’ll never be this good…ever again perhaps.
September 24th, 2021 at 9:41 am
Winny. I don’t get emotional about a locker room dance especially a player that didn’t play until the last 1 or 2 minutes of the game when the game is already over. I don’t have to hate Jamies or any other player. I wish him well on his career until he plays the bucs. I’m not a Jamies hater are a Jamies basher until he plays the bucs.
September 24th, 2021 at 9:53 am
Of course he doesn’t want to leave. He’s on the golf cart most of the time being dragged by Brady to wins. Easy life for a mediocre coach
September 24th, 2021 at 9:57 am
Fair enough, Onelilbuc…no need to hate JW. It sure seems that you long for The JW Era and look forward to The Kyle Trask Era ( keep your expectations low and chin held high ) but refuse to acknowledge the current greatness at the QB position. I too wish JW continued “success” that he saw vs The Panthers. That style of clumsy play looked awfully familiar.
September 24th, 2021 at 1:19 pm
Winny. I’ve said it before that Brady is a all time great. Now just because I don’t celebrate Brady the way some of yall do doesn’t mean I hate Brady or hope we lose because of Brady. That’s far not the truth. People gets mad because I celebrate the whole team like a true bucs fan . I can acknowledge that Brady helped us win but at the same time yall can’t treat AB , Evans, Godwin, and the defense like they didn’t do nothing for us to win. Without those guys Brady wouldn’t be able to do nothing just like what happened his last year in New England. But I respect your opinion about the team and people like you I can reason with and have a good conversation without disrespecting each other even if we disagree . Go bucs !!!
