Tom Brady Hates Salad Bars

While many Golden Corral restaurants have reopened across the Tampa Bay area, the king of the Buccaneers doesn’t give a crap.
The man has no interest in grabbing a set of tongs and loading his plate with spring mix, sliced tomatoes and sliced avocados. Heck Tom Brady probably never would have even set foot in the Sweet Tomatoes on Dale Mabry Highway (may the chain rest in peace).
Brady made this clear on his Let’s Go! show on SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio this week. Here was his exchange with host Jim Gray.
Jim Gray: What salad bar item makes you the angriest?
Tom Brady: Oh, God. All of them. All of them. I just think all that stuff that’s been sitting out for hours (inhales deeply). Not my favorite. I’m not a big buffet-type place [guy] salad bar. No.
The great irony here is Brady is a Subway spokesperson. And anyone who has stepped in a Subway knows its sandwich toppings routinely sit around for many hours before a worker slaps them on a sandwich.
On a recent Buccaneers.com roundtable video, Brady was asked to name what five foods he would take to a deserted island. Brady refused to answer, citing how it would be all over social media.
Rob Gronkowski stepped in to say Brady definitely would bring mixed nuts and avocados, but Gronk was stumped there. A pensive Mike Evans, sitting next to Brady, said he has never seen Brady eat anything.
Well deserved, though Bronze might warrant a recount.

Brady has a great Subway commercial. I think Stephen Curry asks Brady…Tom you’re actually eating bread? Brady replies sarcastically…It’s a TV commercial.
That’s how he gets away doing Subway. He makes it clear he doesn’t really eat there.

Subway was a topic at the recent Tom Brady presser a day ago. He had the same response but it wasn’t sarcastic, and said he “doesn’t do bread.”
Brady did say he lived on subway back in college tho. Hey, I lived on pizza rolls back in college and I’d be happy to endorse them too even if I wouldn’t touch one now!

stpetebucsfan is right. The fact that they called out that Tom is doing a commercial for something he wouldn’t eat, is what made the Subway commercial funny.

Ok, all of us who went to college lived on fast food and pizza. Let’s be honest. If you make the money Tom makes, there is really no reason to ever go to a buffet. Can you imagine him saying, “Giselle, can I get you another plate of mashed potatoes and gravy?”

So Tom demonstrates something very, very rare! No Subway pun but Tom remains hungry. He’s hungry for a certain kind of life.
My son told me few years back that Dad you’ve paid your dues and made your bones. That means you can just sit out back and smoke weed the rest of your life. Sounds good but that’s not really how I look at life. YMMV
I stop for long periods to train as much as possible for a 73 year old dude. The thrill of competition is now within me…me against myself. You all have the same opportunity. I get Brady and I don’t even make bucks for training hard and taking three months on a rigid diet. I simply like to see what’s left and what can I do.

salad bars and buffets are gonna be scarce in a post-COVID world. And, that’s not bad thing.

At least Subway has lids on their stuff. And the food isn’t pre-tasted by a kid with a runny nose and dirty hands. Gotta get a Publix sub about 10am. Food is too mellow when the mayonnaise starts to yellow.

Subways are hit or miss. Some of them are terrible, some of them like the one near me gets locally grown organic produce. Plus, my wife works their part-time to make up for the fact she can’t make a living as a teacher. I know people who hate Subway who will eat sandwiches that my wife brings home.

I love salad bars.. I hate viral restrictions.. I can assess a foods freshness and quality. crispy greens , carrots sliced, onion , peppers , cheese, cukes. Grape tomatoes.. creamy ranch fresh ground pepper. Yum and super healthy.
Buffet dinners can suk cuz they can go cold if they sit there.
