Joe isn’t going to step in the way back machine here so Joe isn’t going to count a virtual wasted rookie season Ronald Jones had with Dirk Koetter in 2018.
In the two previous seasons with Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians, 2019 and 2020, RoJo has had nice success against the Dixie Chicks.
RoJo’s worst game against Atlanta while playing for Arians came in November 2019. RoJo averaged 4.25 yards a carry in Atlanta.
If that’s the “worst” game, Joe will take that any day.
In the past two seasons, RoJo has only faced Atlanta three times, including nust once last year (he missed the first game at Atlanta). In RoJo’s games against the Dixie Chicks with Arians, he ran for 51 yards on 12 carries; 106 yards on 11 carries and 78 yards on 12 carries in the home game against Atlanta to wrap up the 2020 regular season.
Of course, with the Dixie Chicks having a new defensive coordinator, who knows if that success will continue?
Joe has a hunch RoJo’s good fortune against Atlanta played a part in Arians declaring RoJo a starter earlier this week for the Bucs’ second game of the season.

Some backs do very well in a 2 back offense, but I just don’t think ROJO is one of them.

Personally I like Rojo. He’s a tough runner who’s put time into changing his body and developing into a better back. His hands are still a huge letdown and he’s looking for a new contract. It is very unlikely he will be back next year with Vaughn being thought highly of. If it is true his mindset isn’t there and constantly has to be catered to make sure he stays positive. What is the likelihood Rojo gets more time to shine to increase his value for a trade? Expecting a heavy workload for him this weekend.

Chris didnt he get over 5 per carry last year? But I wont mind if this game goes like Dallas and we dont even need much from our RBs.
And all you Gio fans dont get your hopes up. I dont see Atlanta forcing us into checkdowns. Heck, they might struggle just to get us to third down. We might need Gio the next week against the Rams.

No need to worry about RoJo. He is keenly aware he will be pulled after a single mistake and pulled with identical expediency if he’s set to break some single game rushing record.
The Lenny love is mind boggling.
On opening night, RoJo fumbles and is sentenced to the far corner of the bench.
Lenny drops an easy screen pass which leads to an interception and is promoted to full time RB.
I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but if I was I’d guess there’s a secret plan to diminish all RoJo’s chances for high mark success.
The jury is still out on why RoJo was pulled from his final regular season game last year when he could have easily surpassed the 1000 yard mark for the season.

Rojo is the best running back the Bucs have but Arians is down on him. One mistake while fighting for more yards and he gets yanked. 4net tips a pass to Dallas and he stays in the game. Arians conjures up a mental evaluation of Rojo. Who looks really mental in this situation? He had to cover up a poor decision of his own.

Hey Guys– the coaches are with these guys day in and day out. They want to put the best players out there to achieve that. They know when the player should sit his butt down more so than what it appears to us. They are doing it to win games as their butt is on the line as well. There is more to it than we know. I say trust the dang coaches as they figured it out to win win win the big enchilada and they want to win another one!

It is about trust and respect, 2 things ROJO has not earned from this coaching staff.
Say whatever you want about ROJO, it has been shown by the coaches game by game who they have preferred.
ROJO has plenty of ability, it is not just ablity, Trust and Respect matter to the coaches more than just ability.
Again all this talk by posters, why don’t you just go ask Arians while having a beer, just why they have not trusted ROJO, why he gets a short leash and others get more slack.

RoJo probably hasn’t earned a lion’s share of carries in Arians’ mind, but his upside is so obvious when you see the way he simply runs in traffic, displaying burst for a big guy that should indicate star caliber talent. RoJo is everything scouts projected Fournette to be at this level. But Fournette runs worse than Earnest Graham did even during his retirement year. Fournette’s trust factor is baffling. We have Gio for catching passes because Lenny sux.
