America Likes Tom Brady (And The Cowboys)
September 15th, 2021It’s weird to type the following, but Bucs fans are beginning to understand what it’s like to have an international superstar quarterback who transcends sports.
And that would be, of course, Tom Brady.
The NFL released TV ratings for Week 1 games and it’s not a stretch to suggest America loves football, and in particular, Brady (yeah, they seem to like the Cowboys too, ugh).
Per David Bauder of the Associated Press, some 24 million people tuned in to watch Brady and the Bucs (and the Cowboys) open the NFL season. The Cowboys-Bucs game was the most-watched program on all of television last week.
How hungry was America for football? Of the top-five most-watched TV programs last week, all were either NFL games or NFL pregame shows. Pregame shows!
The highest-watched non-NFL show last week was “60 Minutes” with 9.98 million pairs of eyeballs. (And it benefits from immediately following the NFL.)

No one actually watches 60 minutes. After a full day of eating, drinking and football most are either asleep or too wasted to change the channel.

But I thought “America’s Quarterback” would do better…..

Only a FSU homer would put their name on such a ridiculous comment. Sheeze, Jackwagon Jameis is gone. Get over yourself, this is a Bucs blog.
LFG Bucs!

I remember when 60min was good

@Aaron 60 minutes is good…. 60 minutes of Buc football.

Who wouldn’t want watch to history being made. Why cheat yourself out something you’ll never see again.

Aaron: It’s been a long time since they did real reporting and investigative journalism.

Joe, it’s possible that America likes the Bucs! This is the same Tom Brady that was booed at Peyton Manning’s Hall of Fame speech.
Speaking of which, if any of you watch Monday Night Football it’s far better to tune into Peyton, Eli, and Ray Lewis on BSPN+ call the game. It was very entertaining! I’ll never watch it on the main network.

It is nice to live in the Penthouse of the NFL.
All the years of being a slow burn dumpster fire, and now the opposite.
Great time to be a Bucs fan.
Keep Brady’s jersey clean, and legitimate chance to go Back to Back.
GO BUCS!!!!!

Brady is newsworthy. Most folks in America wrote him off as over-the-hill back in 2013. Even ESPN’s then-resident Boston homer Bill Simmons declared that Brady was finished after being blown out by KC in the fourth game of that season. And here’s Brady, still sitting at the table while playing with house money.
It’s demographics too. We have an aging population that is transfixed on an aging athlete who still performs at the highest level. That spells high Nielsen ratings.

Tampabaybucsfan, is your comment referring to Brady? If so he was pretty much flawless and should of thrown for 450, 6 tds (a drop and fumble by Godwin) and one bs int. (Thanks Lenny stone fingers) if it weren’t for dropped balls and turnovers. I’d say he was pretty darn good

😂D-Rome I hope you’re not serious you don’t get why he was booed at Peytons induction?

Might have to try that out sometime when there is a horrible game being broadcast. Of course didn’t watch that but it just seems more about the Mannings than the game.
If anyone heard Chris Russo’s sermon about both Monday night broadcasts, Joe almost perfectly fits into how Russo said he wants to watch games, though Joe doesn’t need crowd noise to enjoy a good game.

Bucs are not invincible! Bucs were very lucky to survive 4 turnovers and missed kicks by the Cowboys. There are better teams than the Cowboys that the Bucs will have to defeat to get to the Super Bowl again. This game should be a wakeup call for both coaches and players. And after that game who still thinks a 17-0 season has a chance in he’ll? I do believe they should make the playoffs. But Dallas showed the rest of the league a game plan that can beat the Bucs. Only some really bad kicks cost Dallas the game. Pass defense is the Bucs biggest weakness and short passes/quick releases negate our awesome pass rush.

WB… Can they win the next 16 games? Maybe.. I don’t know and I don’t care. What I care about is playing many more games and winning the last one.

Wild Bill, lighten up Francis. The turnovers by the Bucs is the only reason Dallas stayed in the game. Their kicks mean nothing when we fumble on the goaline and turn the ball over twice to them in their red zone. Bucs are fine, just tighten up secondary.

I often find myself letting 60 Minutes drone on unnoticed after football until I catch Comrade Anderson Cooper’s voice. Nails on a chalkboard.

I’ve been watching NFL games for many years and have seen all types of quarterbacks come and go but Tom Brady is the best QB that I’ve ever watched play and I’m happy that he chose Tampa bay as the team he wanted to play for. Great players and coaches and by far the best fans and appreciate the best QB that has ever played lead the BUCS for ring number 8 , his favorite THE NEXT ONE !
