“Our Guys Are Winners”
September 10th, 2021It didn’t take long in his postgame remarks for Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians to speak the phrase of the decade about his team.
“Our guys are winners.”
The Bucs were very sloppy Thursday night to open the season against the Cowboys. They should have lost. But they found a way to win.
Through The Lost Decade, the Bucs found ways to lose. Just about every imaginable way possible.
Maybe the best/worst was Swaggy Baker jumping offsides at Carolina, which precipitated a near-brawl in the postgame locker room as Swaggy mocked his teammates for giving a damn about winning.
Joe, aside from a couple of players the Bucs acquired from Washington, wasn’t about to call the Bucs “losers,” but the fact is they didn’t know how to win.
Last year proved this team is full of winners and knows how to win. That was demonstrated before a national TV audience last night.

Someone wrote on another post here, to stop talking 17-0. I’m sorry. Did we lose? Oh OK

Your guys almost choked away a game with 4 turnovers bro…..get over yourself old man!
Hello everyone…..I haven’t posted in awhile…..where’s my boy TMAX at!!!!!đ

Yes, Coach Arians is right! In the first game of the season after the first Superbowl (I love typing that!), the Bucs trounced the Eagles. At the time, I remember fans and players repeatedly talking about a “dynasty” and “multiple Superbowls”. This close win will throw cold water on the idea of an undefeated season or a repeat Superbowl victory, and I hope that the team will use this as motivation to get better.

We won right? Let me clear my throat…

Well I kinda told you so. I said the Cowboys would play tough especially in the first half but the Bucs would prevail in the second half. The fumble by AB just feet from a touch down in the second half made the score much closer than it should have been. Our pass rush did not get it done. Dak played better than Brady thru much of the game. He is going to be a true star. But hand it to Brady! He lead the Bucs to the game winning fg . We blitzed and blitzed with poor results. Dak stood tall in the pocket and played a hell of a game. And I say all of this despite being a Dallas hater for many years. The Bucs need to do better if they want to repeat.

Sadly, our secondary was exposed as a fraud. The win provided
tape on how to beat the Bucs.
Are the gravediggers providing a season long service to the other team?
Dallas OL did a really good job, but if our front 7 cant dial up the pressure, we are right back to early last season.

Prescott was AWESOME last night simple as that!
September 10th, 2021 at 7:51 am
Dak impressed me a ton. He could set some records this year
Dallas is a very good team. Their defense will get better with rook linebacker
Not every team can pull that off though
Cause you have to have a really good oline and dallas was missing their best one
And you have to have a running back that can give up his body on those blitzes up the middle
And you got to have the receiving weapons like dallas who may only be behind bucs and maybe greenbay in that regard
So the winning formula to best us with a qb in shotgun And get ball out to receiver quickly. A few teams can do this : rams and green bay in our division
Here s to a speedy recovery for smb who looked like early 2020 smb before his injury. Again , go get richard sherman. Swallow your pride and go get the man. He will bring some intensity to the table.

With little pass rush, our secondary was exposed. The Dallas O Line did a good job on our rushers.
We were fortunate to win that game.
Either Dallas is not that bad, or we aren’t nearly as good as we think we are.

Stop trying to run on first down. Set up the run with the pass. Just look at last season – all the slow starts were due to being stuck with 2nd & long to go. MIX it up a bit on first down!

“Fear of losing” is a powerful motivator for WINNERS
September 10th, 2021 at 8:01 am
Four turnovers and BUCS still win. Dallas has dynamic offense but couldn’t stop us on defense. They will win 10 or more games. In the NFL you never draw conclusions from a single game. KC won 5 or 6 games in similar fashion last year. This was typical start for AB teams as he recognizes the season is long and doesn’t push his team to exhaustion in preseason. No different from last year, if we don’t beat ourselves with penalties and turnovers, no other team has the talent to beat us. Still, the salary cap ensures that the talent differential is not that great and you have to be ready each week.

I think Bernard should be our featured back.
September 10th, 2021 at 8:10 am
2 things last night that was badâŚ. Running backs, Vaughn should play next week. âGravediggersâ, you canât call yourself or be called that anymore after the back end being picked on all night. Dean better pull a Seahawks game and get studying again.
One thing that was really nice last nightâŚ. Did worry at all when Succop came in to seal it. Might need a Succop Jersey!

Wild Billâ
It was Godwin who fumbled into the end zone. His sure-handed legend has taken a hit as they have become a liability since to last yearâs playoffs. Granted, the fumble was a good defensive play, but the drop hit him right where NFL receivers are paid to make that play.
The defense, other than Vita Vea, played like a team who spent the off season believing their headlines. Yeah, the run D was good, but Dallas only ran 18 times against 58 passes. I think the recipe to beat the Bucs was confirmed last night.
Why run against a team who has no chance to stop a play against the pass without pressure?

When I looked at the Bucs’ 53-man roster earlier in the week, both Mickens and Adams weren’t on it (they were on the Practice Squad). And yet BOTH dressed for last night’s game.
When I looked at today’s Bucs’ roster, there are 55 players listed on the roster. I’m confused Joe; how’d we pull that off?
September 10th, 2021 at 10:32 am
Our pass rush was nullified because Dallasâ O-line was almost constantly HOLDING. I canât even count how often one of our defenders got past an O-lineman and got held before he made it to the QB. There should have been several more penalties on their line.

Wild Bill, You’re driving me crazy. Brady went 32/50 throwing 5 balls away on the final drive. Dak look great because our DB’s sucked when playing man to man. Bowles like last year did adjust. Very few NFL teams can win with 4 turn overs, two of which were NOT Brady’s fault. Dak got to throw 58 passes that’s on the defense. FYI Godwin fumbled on goal line NOT AB, AB was a stud last night. Look at time of possession then determine what QB played better. Dropped balls is Brady’s fault. Godwin should of had two more TD’s in second half. Score should of been 42-29, don’t be down Bucs offense is that good and NO other defense is going to hold Elliot to 29yds rushing. That’s crazy. Dallas almost stole the game but it really should of been a blowout despite bad DB play. NEXT! Oh, how is Gronk not on the top 100 player list? I forgot he’s washed up. NOT!

Bucs need to focus on the fundamentals. Don’t beat yourselves with turnovers and penalties.

Winner winner chicken dinner. To say a winner is scared of losing means you’re still calling him a loser. Winners don’t even consider losing as an option. In sports they know someone has to do it, and it’s not them. Winners plan to win and nothing else. Winners force their will on others.
So many people have tried to say the defense is the reason we won in the playoffs, yet they scored nary a point. The offense scored everything including most of the defenses gifts.
The defense has to learn how to become winners again
The offense is already there
Thank you Tom Brady, you brought a winners attitude to Tampa Bay
Thank you offensive line you you protected the “Winning Franchise”
September 10th, 2021 at 7:26 pm
Is BA a winner? I worry about his coaching–leaving Brady with one timout for the final drive and giving it away, throwing 7 times to Lenny and only 3 to Gio, with predictable results, and continuing to call plays at the end instead of simply running down the clock?
Fortunately McCarthy was worse–leaving Tom 1:30 to get a field goal is suicide.
September 11th, 2021 at 8:34 am
Yes they played sloppy, but they beat a good team, who’s quarterback played really well.
