I get it, some of y’all think you’re being realists.
At this point in time( granted, on paper) there really is no team in the league that stacks up against us.
Yeah, yeah, any given Sunday, injuries, covid, yada yada yada.
Every team faces all of those too.
There are no guarantees but if ever there was a team built to go all the way, this is THE one!
Damn! Is it Thursday yet?!?!!
I went with 11 wins. I think the team has enough talent to get 13-14 wins, but the depth behind the starters is concerning. Need to see more out the DBs too. Still too many 3rd and longs being completed and the tendencies to give up big games against 2nd/3rd team QBs is still very real.
Someone posted above about LA Rams being the first big test, I disagree with that. This thursday against Dallas is the first big test, considering we completely crapped ourselves in every prime time game. Plus…you have a huge target on your back after winning the super bowl, with every team gunning for you.
I’m excited for the season to get going and hope we have a great year! Here’s hoping to a healthy, productive season and chance at repeating!
Fanman has called EVERY season 16-0 for decades. Fanman received a lot of hate mail because of it. So, in breaking with tradition, for the first time EVER, Fanman is calling it different.
People should pick all their games instead of just picking a random number. It’s always fun to list this stuff and make predictions since most of the time half of them look really by the end of the year. BUT by making these time capsules, you can see what you screwed up and eventually, over years, figure out your own weaknesses when it comes to picking games, and figure out that things like SOS don’t mean squat before the season.
WK1 DALLAS – WIN
WK2 ATL – WIN
WK3 @RAMS – LOSS
WK4 @PATS – WIN (Billicheat is going to do something to make this a squeaker)
WK5 MIAMI – WIN
WK6 PHIL – WIN
WK7 CHIC – WIN
WK8 @NO – LOSS
WK9 BYE
WK10 @REDSKINS – … LOSS
WK11 GIANTS – LOSS
WK12 INDY – WIN
WK13 @ATL – WIN
WK14 BUFFALO – WIN
WK15 SAINTS – WIN
WK16 @CAR – WIN
WK17 @JETS – WIN
WK18 CAR – WIN
That’s 13-4, but with 4 weeks of not winning (including the bye).
The Rams game is a real toss up, I can see it going either way, and that’s the game I could easily see the end up winning.
The loss @NO… anyone writing off NO is a dope. Sean Payton is just too good, and with as much as I like Arians, it’s Payton that is the better coach. Can you image in the playoffs if the Bucs had Payton as coach vs Arians with that Saints roster and a QB that can’t throw more than 10 yards? The Saints are still going to be a huge pain in the rear.
The @REDSKINS game is going to be really tough. It’s after a bye, so that gives some hope, but that will be the Redskins Super Bowl and if the Bucs aren’t ready for that, they’ll lose.
The Giants at home is the game people will say there is no way the Bucs lose… but the stupid Giants have always been a pain in the rear to the Bucs. On a positive note, if this happens, all the talk will be about how Brady and the Bucs are washed up, blah blah blah — that in turn makes them angry and they win out the rest of the year and are hot going into the playoffs.
The other game I hate is @JETS… I don’t believe the Bucs have ever beat the Jets on the road, and crap just tends to go wrong for Tampa when they play them. Even good Bucs teams lose to the stupid Jets for whatever reason. It’s like how even bad Bucs teams will beat the Packers in Tampa, or bad Bears teams will beat good Bucs teams in Chicago. I’m giving the Bucs a W as I think they’ll need the win for seeding and that will be a huge game, but don’t just pencil in an automatic W without knowing your history.
Mark Alsott – I agree that the Cowboys are a big test, but they also have a bad defense. I think the offenses and special teams equal each other out, but the Bucs clearly have a dramatically better defense — plus you’re getting another 2 points or so for a packed home stadium. I think the line is around 9 points, which sounds about right. I personally believe the Bucs will get a late TD to make it look like a bigger win, but I don’t expect a blowout. I hope it is a blowout, I just don’t expect it.
Crickett – cool story, now post your game by game predictions then we can point and laugh after the season.
But nah, you won’t, because who wants to put that kind of work into something like that when you can just say 17-0, then disappear from the boards for the year when the Bucs lose to the Rams – and then reappear in the SB claim you knew everything would happen just the way it happened.
Talk is cheap, post your predictions, explain why, or keep your mouth shut, kid.

September 6th, 2021 at 10:51 am

September 6th, 2021 at 10:51 am
13 wins – 4 loses.
The Bucs will face KC again in the Super Bowl.
September 6th, 2021 at 10:59 am
If they have a shot to go undefeated and it’s late in the season, I think they go for it. They can rest with the first round by. 17-0 baby
September 6th, 2021 at 10:59 am
Pete thinks Bucs will play Buffalo in the Superbowl
September 6th, 2021 at 11:00 am
The Rams will be the 1st BIG test on the schedule
September 6th, 2021 at 11:01 am

Rod, after your predictions about Dean and Stuard I, at this time, can not take your prognostications seriously.

Cowboys are going to have a lot to think about on their ride home. Glad I won’t be a fly on that wall.
September 6th, 2021 at 8:43 pm
I used to predict wins. No more.
They will make the playoffs and the Superbowl.
September 6th, 2021 at 8:46 pm
That schedule actually looks easy…when’s the last time that happened for the Bucs?
