Tom Brady: We Gotta Play Up To Our Own Standard

August 25th, 2021

Tom Brady was talking yesterday.

What intrigued Joe most was Brady passionately naming five offensive teammates who he knows can play at a high level, as defined by Brady himself.

Mr. Seven Rings was on SiriusXM NFL Radio telling the world that the football basics and time will drive the Bucs’ offense to new heights. Per Brady, “more situations will come up” that the team has yet to experience together and they will grow stronger from it.

In Brady’s mind, an offense needs years together to peak.

For 2021, it’s about internal goals and players delivering their A-games.

“We gotta play up to our own standard, to the level that we’re all capable of playing. I know Mike [Evans] is capable of playing at a high level, certainly I am, Leonard is, Gronk is, A.B. is, Scotty is. At the end of the day it’s no magic,” Brady said with fire.

Yes, Joe is overanalyzing, but Joe was intrigued to hear Brady choose those five players when he was thinking about elite performance.

Billy Mays was the Ding King & Tom Brady is the Ring King

  2. Listnfrmafar Says:

He skipped Godwin, my guess due to PO drops. That Oline really stepped up last 8 games plus from one of the highest to lowest penalized teams to the lowest. The D speaks for itself.

  3. Casual Observer Says:

My guess is that both AB and Lenny will have surprisingly strong years. Even better than is being hyped. The Brady touch – plus those are two extremely gifted athletes.

  4. BA4President Says:

He was strictly talking about offense at that point in the interview. Of course he couldn’t reference the entire offense, but I noticed that he mentioned Fournette instead of Rojo and Scotty Miller instead of Brate or Howard.

  5. mark2001 Says:

Yeah.. the most interesting thing was to see who he mentioned and who he didn’t.

  6. Kentucky Buc Says:

Meh. He just rattled some names off from the top of your his head. I wouldn’t read too much into it. If he said he peed standing at a 45 degree angle it would turn into 10 episodes on the sports blab shows.

  7. SlyPirate Says:

    Kentucky Buc … agreed.

Do people (writers) believe players put deep thought into kneejerk QA sessions?

Look no farther than who made catches from TB12 in that day’s practice.

  8. unbelievable Says:

A little nudge to CG to watch those dropsies

  9. Swampbuc Says:

Brady named Scotty? Can’t be. Experts from this here site assured us that Scotty is a one trick pony and would be replaced. But, what would Brady know.

  10. PSL Bob Says:

Definitely missed Godwin. I would also add Brate, Mr. Dependable!

  11. Hodad Says:

Miller has been disappointing so far this preseason. I hope he doesn’t take a step back this year.

  12. BillyBucoff Says:

Do you guys really believe we have seen anybody at their best.
Scotty Miller looks small to any other QB going through their progression, but Brady throws him open and knows he will track it.

We might see some real plays this week but not much.
It’s still depend on the receiver get open rather than a GOOD PLAY.

Lets face it, Miller usually gets the 3rd best CB.
    I’m not worried at all.
