NFL Network Top-100 Players: Jason Pierre-Paul No. 59

August 15th, 2021

Bucs OLB Jason Pierre-Paul.

Joe learns something new every day. Just like Joe learned something new watching the NFL Network’s Top 100 players for 2021.

The annual poll, with ranking strictly determined by NFL players, has Bucs outside linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul at No. 59.

So what did Joe learn? JPP has never lost a playoff game as an NFL player. Nope. Never.

In the video presentation on NFL Network, part of it explained how JPP, as a member of both the Giants and Bucs’ Super Bowl runs, has never been on an NFL team that lost a playoff game.

That’s wild to Joe. JPP is now 8-0 in the playoffs. (Shaq Barrett is undefeated in the playoffs, too.)

Devin White in the piece referred to JPP as “relentless.” Lavonte David hailed JPP as a do-it-all kind of guy. Stops the run. Stops the pass. Sacks quarterbacks. Picks off passes. Bats down passes.

Just think, JPP did all of this last year on a bum knee that has seen been cleaned up with surgery. Imagine what JPP can do now that he is healthy?

I think that ranking is based upon overall respect. I’ll take it plus JPP says he’s finally healthy this season. Look out!

  2. DavidBigBucFan99 Says:

JPP is a complete defensive player. An ultimate warrior who could excel in offense as well. He very easily could play Ironman football. YOU DOWN WITH JPP DAWG YOU KNOW ME!!!!

  3. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Congratulations!
    You are the sh!t man!

  4. JGhotier Says:

Joe, Do you know if that’s a teammate that is crying while JPP is hugging w/ him around 2:50 minute Mark? Or just a friend/family member….

If teammate, do you by chance know who it is?

  5. SteveK Says:

Dude with attitude who sets the tone for the defense. Works his ass off, athletically a freak, and his resilience/attitude might even be more rare than his athletic ability.

He’s healthy, in a contract year, and on a damn mission to win the NFC S.

  6. ClodHopper Says:

I’m doing bad math. IIRC both years the Giants were also the 6th seed. So wouldn’t that be 4 postseason games for each run he had for the Super Bowl? Making it 12 wins?

  7. ClodHopper Says:

I found my mistake. He was drafted in 2010. He wasn’t with the Giants in the 2007 season.
