Shaq Tumbles 56 Spots In NFL Players Poll

Now this is sure to rankle Bucs sacks king Shaq Barrett.
It’s the time of year when the NFL Network Top-100 Players list is revealed, per the votes of many hundreds of players.
Last year, following his 19 1/2-sack season, Shaq was named the No. 32-ranked player in the league. Today he was ranked No. 88, one slot better than Bucs teammate Tristan Wirfs.
That’s a big drop and Joe is confidence Shaq will be very annoyed.
Shaq is a on respect mission, and he’ll tell anyone who’s listening. Heck, he chewed Joe’s ear off about it at the White House last month. Shaq wants to set the single-season sacks record this year and be named Defensive Player of the Year, and he’s convinced he’s in great position to pull it off.
Make them pay, Shaq!

These lists are all pretty dumb, but he’s lucky to even be on this list. First, he’s a Buccaneer and our players must a!ways go above and beyond lesser players to be recognized. Secondly, his 2020 regular season was above average, but nothing great. I think that his kicking butt in the playoffs and Superbowl got him on the list.

So it’s more like NFL Top 100 seasonal stats list. I get that, but drop 56 spots? Guess they don’t take postseason into account. I like it though, more fuel on the fire! To quote a great poet….

Well, this his opportunity to prove himself. The Bucs will have the stage this year, SB Champs looking to repeat with Brady. If Shaq produces he will get the respect this year ! We’re rooting for you Shaq , now do it !

I’m glad he’s ranked that low. It just keeps adding to all the material this Super Bowl winning team needs to prove they’re the best team out there. I can hear Tom saying, “we’re not just going to beat teams this year, we’re going to bury them so we get our respect!” Keep putting the Bucs at the bottom of everything please!! Then watch them pour it to team 48-7 all year!

Well he had a chance in 2019 and should have had it then, but disappeared for a good stretch of games because teams adjusted coverage to him and unfortunately the other teammates didn’t/ couldn’t step their game up and he didn’t adjust his game to get around it. You can’t prop yourself no matter how much you talk in the mic when you drop from 19 1/2 down to 8 in one season. The loquacious one Warren Sapp ran his mouth but backed it up. All this talk about wanting to have the sack record and being DMVP needs to stop, he needs to shut up and put up.

@David he might have had 8 sacks in the regular season but I dont think we win in the playoffs without him.

I think our Bucs are getting plenty of disrespect and motivation. Is Shaq’s low ranking any worse than Adam Schein’s article: “Top 9 Offenses”, where the Bucs are behind 5 teams and barely beat out the lowly Falcons?
#1 Chiefs, #2 Bills, #3 Packers, #4 Titans, #5 Cowboys. Then immediately following the Bucs at #6, is the #7 Rams and the #8 Falcons? and #9 Chargers?

I thought Shaq had a better season last year than the one before. He played like an outside linebacker should, instead of just pass rushing.
