John Lynch Campaigns For Rondé Barber On The Hall Of Fame Stage
August 8th, 2021So Bucs icon John Lynch had his shining time on the big stage in Canton tonight, thanking all kinds of Buccaneers historical figures, including Sage JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman.
Lynch’s enshrinement speech was about what one would expect, but he did take time — multiple times this Hall of Fame weekend — to campaign for his former Bucs brother Rondé Barber.
Barber was a Hall finalist for the first time in the winter, but he did not make the cut from 15 finalists to the final five who get in the Hall.
Lynch was part of a roundtable this weekend (see Tweet below) and he did not hesitate to explain Barber’s just place in the Hall.

Also, Lynch mentioned Barber belonging in the club during his induction speech tonight.
With so many Hall voters in attendance, and watching on TV, that could represent a huge boost for Barber’s candidacy this winter.
Lynch closed his speech tonight with a call for societal unity.

Lynch came off as a phony CEO type. Winfield Jr is already better than he ever was & has the same # of rings. And there’s a REASON Lynch always praises his wife in public…TRUST ME…..TRUST ME ……TRUST ME ON THIS ONE smh

That was an amazing speech! Praying we will have more members of the legendary defense inducted in the Hall! Lynch was an inspiration to me when I was a kid and showed people how the game should be played. Ronde should be next! Ira, I would like to know if there has or will be any talks in the future on bringing Assistant coaches for Hall recognition

Tkras, your troll game is weak. Work on it.

Ronde should get in next year. They won’t be able to come up with a stupid excuse for why he’s not a hall of famer next time with lunch in the room to immediately call out the idiocy of debating his credentials

Tkras red Bozo lips, if you have something to say, say it. Only Nancy Boys make veiled accusations. If I KNOW something about someone (and it’s relevant) I’m going to either share it, or STFU. Only the weak say things without backing it up.

Tkras red Bozo lips Says:
Your name says it all. I’ll feed this troll with a plate of fresh pig manure. Just go away. Go back under your putrid bridge.

Just ignore the moron posting crap on John Lynch’s day. One of the best safeties to ever play the game. It always amuses me when NFL players talk about respect for another player but some ignorant fan sitting on the couch in his mom’s house thinks he knows better. What a punk asssss biotch.
JOE
on John Lynch‘s induction day to the Hall of Fame probably should band that shi*!
August 8th, 2021 at 10:41 pm
Awesome speech, all of them. Great to see Lynch, Brooks and Sapp in there together!
August 8th, 2021 at 10:42 pm
JOE
You need to ban that crap being posted on John Lynch’s Hall of Fame day
August 8th, 2021 at 10:43 pm
I won’t post the morons name, probably some 12 year old sitting in his moms basement who doesn’t know 1 ounce about what football actually is.
What a piece of S

Ronde and Monte deserve to be in.
Simeon Rice too!
August 8th, 2021 at 11:15 pm
Who is this bozo dude smh
August 8th, 2021 at 11:20 pm
Tkras bozo, I guess there is a reason for the Bozo part of your posting name … you are a Bozo!! Lynch was outstanding recognizing coaches and teammates as well as his wife! He recognized Brooks from Pensacola, Sapp from Apopka and himself from Cali and how all that did not matter, they were a team! Like Brooks pushed for him to be elected, Lynch followed by lobbying for Ronde, what’s wrong with that? When Ronde goes in, and he will, he’ll push for Simeon! Are you even a Bucs fan or a troll? Juat asking.

JBF has a new troll. Just when it was getting boring here (sarcasm). Reminds me of old trollmax but as first time says, with a much much much weaker troll game. Try harder. That’s generally what I say to all the trolls.

Peyton applauding Ronde’s mention kinda says it all.

The speeches are so moving and inspiring, I missed the first night but watched them all last night. I try and watch them every year. I had tears rolling down my cheeks when Lee Roy gave his speech…

When Chris Berman tags you with your own moniker as he did Ronde that should get you in. All kidding aside The Barber of Seville was so reliable not only for the quality of his play , but his reliability to be out there on the field every Sunday. From 1998-2012 Ronde started every game except one. Barber was a true warrior who played hurt often and never complained or made excuses , we could all take a cue from him on what it means to be a real professional. Bucs do not win , or even get to their 1st Superbowl without him.

Almost forgot , if you want Bozo to go away , just don’t mention him at all-totally ignore , it’s the attention he craves .

I think it was Charles Woodson that had this great comment in his speech.
“We were having a great year and then we ran into Sapp, Brooks, and Lynch. Things didn’t go do well”.
Cracked me up.

Ronde Barber is a system player — and that system was the most important system of it’s time. Saying system player, as in it being a bad thing, is just stupid. The system required a corner who could play zone, who could blitz and who would tackle as good as any LB. Ronde was the prototype of a Tampa 2 corner. Anyone who thinks that is a bad thing is an idiot.
That doesn’t mean Ronde couldn’t do more, but he excelled in his role and did it better than anyone in history. Can you tell the history of the NFL without mentioning Ronde, without mentioning the premiere Cover 2 corner, ever? No.
