Brian Baldinger: Bucs Have Best O-Line
July 25th, 2021Last year everything came together at the right time for the Bucs.
And the right time was right after Thanksgiving. As Tom Brady told his teammates at Thursday’s ring ceremony, that’s what champions do.
One reason the Bucs were able to average 30 points a game in the playoffs? Their offensive line. They pass-blocked. They run-blocked. They just blocked.
Joe is confident that is the best blocking ever seen from a Bucs offensive line. Watching Tristan Wirfs blast gaping holes on the right side; seeing Ali Marpet trucking around right end with Chiefs’ defenders wanting no part of him; seeing Ryan Jensen get under defenders’ skins and Donovan Smith completely owning Chase Young were all such beautiful things.
Recently on NFL Network, former NFL offensive lineman Brian Baldinger said the way the Bucs’ offensive line played in the playoffs, for him, that’s the best front-five in the game.
You can see Baldinger’s take in the NFL Network video below.

Sounded like Baldy said the Bucs had the THIRD best OLine in 2020, followed by the Saints at #2, and in top position … the Browns. Major difference between those Top-3 Lines seems to be that the Browns & Saints are better at the running game, while the Bucs seems to be better in the passing game.
1 – Browns: #3 Rushing (2374 yds) … #24 Passing (3539 yds) … #14 overall
2 – Saints: #6 Rushing (2265 yds) … #19 Passing (3758 yds) … #5 overall
3 – Bucs: #28 Rushing (1519 yds) … #2 Passing (4626 yds) … #3 overall

I’d say you’re right on DR. Had to be based on rushing.
But with the game on the line, I’d say our Dogs beat their dogs. Our Dogs have a real mean streak in them. Expect to see a better than 28th tank this season.

Maybe folks, it’s a brutal game and it’s all about depth now. Last year was a wonderful dream go true.
Go Bucs!

I will be happy to take our Oline at #3. Top 3 is fine.
I don’t like the Slimy Saints above us, as I think our D kicked their butts in the playoffs. Or maybe our D is just that good 😁

It’s funny how are O-line went from average to great wilt only one different player. Wirfs? I think our O-line was good over the last few years. JW held the ball to long made the line look bad. TB12 gets the ball out quickly, making the line look great.

When you have one of your finger’s barely attached from playing in the trenches, then I take your word for offensive line play.

I think the 3rd best is great and like joe said the best in Bucs history. But it’s the team as a whole. We’ve got to have one of the top 3 wr groups, #1 tight end group, a very solid group of running backs and the goat. Plus we have to be top 2 in defense. That’s a pretty tough team to beat. This is going to be an awesome season. Go Bucs!!!!

Our O-line was the last one standing. Therefore it is the best!

Have to Agree, Brady’s Jersey was awfully clean last year! Coming from a Steelers fan.
