Heartfelt words for teammates.
Last night the Bucs held their Super Bowl ring ceremony where all the Bucs received their championship bling.
The event was a private affair, however. Other than Bucs-produced, in-house media, no one from the Fourth Estate was there.
As of this morning, very little video of the event is seen on Buccaneers.com. But the ceremony, which included players, coaches, team executives and employees, family and friends, was recorded in bits and pieces by those in attendance. So video is popping up on social media.
And thankfully, Antoine Winfield, Sr., the former Pro Bowl corner and father of Bucs safety Antoine Winfield, captured this element on video in its entirety and posted it on Instagram.
Bucs quarterback Tom Brady spoke to his teammates about last year’s journey and how he came to Tampa Bay, which seemed to surprise so many. The greatest quarterback to ever play left one of the NFL’s true dynasties to come to a team that all too often in the Lost Decade didn’t seem as if it knew how to work a toilet.
“Everybody said, ‘Why did you choose the Bucs?’ It was a no-brainer.”
Brady went on to ask “Who wouldn’t want” to play with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and others? Brady also added, “I didn’t want to play against [Ndamukong] Suh and JPP anymore.”
Brady also recounted his first conversation with Bucs co-chairman Joel Glazer when Glazer told Brady, “Tom, I just want to win.”
It’s a heartfelt, yet public chat that Brady had with his championship Bucs teammates. And Joe has to be honest, if you don’t get a little emotional after hearing Brady speak and thinking of the painful Lost Decade and how much Brady has impacted this franchise in such a short time, then Joe guesses you have no soul.
Brady ended his chat with a directive to his teammates.
Brady recalled talking with a University of Michigan athletics employee he knew from college. The guy had a collection of Big Ten championship rings. He told Brady that his favorite ring was always the next one.
Gentlemen, the gauntlet has been thrown down.

And to think we now have Jerry Jones blubbering and getting all “emotional” to anyone who will listen “I’ll do anything to win a championship” and all it took was for Mr. Glazer to say “I just want to win Tom”. Priceless!!!💎💎💎

Mr glazer we all just wanted to win thank you!!!! Oh and it was a no brainer for Tom before gronk before ab before Lenny. Of course it was because any in the right state of mind knew the Bucs where close. We needed a QB and the fact it was Brady is still ridiculous to this day.

I bet the Titans feel pretty stupid. What dumbass would pick Ryan Trannyhill over Thomas Edward Brady. I’ll tell y’all. His name is Mike Vrabel. His legacy as a player is immeasurably tied to Brady. Mikey wants to carve out his coaching career without being tied to Brady again. It’s stupid and confounding that a man taught by belichick and lead by Tom Brady could be so shortsighted. What a special group! I can keep a smile off my face every time I think of this team. Talk about courage and fortitude! Lost decade, Covid, and everything else. What a nice treat and have you all seen the ring? AMAZING!
