If anyone thinks the Bucs would have won a Super Bowl with Teddy Bridgewater or Philip Rivers, well, Joe has oceanfront property in Arizona for a fair price.
Joe is absolutely convinced Brady all by himself changed the culture of the Bucs. Damn near overnight in March 2020, the Bucs went from a laughable franchise into a feared winner.
Joe thought about this when Booger McFarland posted video of Brady speaking at last night’s ring ceremony, where Brady emphatically stated his favorite Super Bowl ring is “the next one.”
This dude already put the championship 2020 season in his rearview mirror. And watch how the rest of the team, like a bunch of ducklings, follow all in a row.
Joe went back to the Zoom video this past spring when Bucs co-chairman Joel Glazer made his annual media appearance. Even Glazer admitted, despite all the stories he heard about Brady as a winner, Brady’s impact on the team and his winning aura took him by surprise.
“You heard stories and you watched him from afar for many years,” Glazer said. “You heard things about him. But you never really realize until you are around somebody or with somebody. And everything I heard was absolutely accurate. The person — Tom — works harder than anybody I have ever seen. His leadership is unbelievable.
“And his relationship with everybody — just the person he is. The whole package. We’re so fortunate to have him on our team. Had him last year to lead us. And it is just great to see somebody that puts in the effort and is so dedicated. Just an example of results come when you work hard and you are dedicated.”
Here’s the cool thing about Brady and the Bucs. Who knows how much longer he plays. Two seasons? Four seasons? Whatever.
Young players like Tristan Wirfs and Antoine Winfield and Joe Tryon and Devin White and Sean Murphy-Bunting and Jamel Dean and, shoot, maybe even Kyle Trask, those guys have a great chance of being with the Bucs for the next decade. And they will carry on Brady’s winning attitude, ethic and attention to detail — and pass it on to future Bucs who now are in middle school.
Likely the greatest Team Glazer investment short of buying the Bucs was signing Brady. His impact is and will continue to be immeasurable.

I don’t know about this.
Seems when DB55 was launched, the defense went down pretty quick.
Nobody continued his work ethic for years to come.
Just enjoy what we have now.
The future is not guaranteed.

The Patriots went from 12-4 in 2019 with Brady to 7-9 without him in 2020. The Brady effect is in the present. Brady is gone and the effect is gone. Enjoy while it lasts.

Hopefully a consistently winning tradition has been started, where mediocrity is no longer tolerated. I think there’s enough good character guys on the team to get that done now.

I think most of the effect of his presence will wear off shortly….but some will last in the players he influenced…..I’m hoping that will affect Trask in particular.

The reason the Brady effect diminished in New England is because Billy B didn’t believe in him or hated that Brady shared the lime light. The veterans on the team know it is the rookies, new signings and free agents that haven’t experienced his presence. There were other coaches on the Patriots that claimed the team would have won with any decent QB. How’s that working out. The difference here coaches and teammates ALL welcome the culture change. My guess is it will be harder to go back than forward once he’s gone. You can’t discount the results.

Enjoy the Brady effect. With a franchise with as little success as the Bucs I will ride this train as long as we can.
Mainly because-
-The Bucs as a franchise have never won a playoff game in consecutive seasons.
-Only once in their history have the Bucs posted double digit wins in consecutive seasons 1999 and 2000
-Bucs have only won 10 or more games 8 times in their history
2 years, 3 years, I don’t care I am going to soak this up as long as possible. LFG!!!

My thought … My hope is …
Devin White, Kyle Trask, and the other young bloods soak the Brady Way into their DNA and carry it forward into the next generation of Buccaneers.
