Leonard Fournette Describes Tom Brady Leadership

June 28th, 2021

Playoff Lenny got “my mind right” and dominated in historic fashion through the playoffs, 64 carries for 300 yards and three touchdowns — plus 18 catches and a receiving TD.

And it’s no surprise that Fournette returned to the Bucs in free agency — especially after hearing his admiration of Tom Brady expressed last week.

“He displays the true definition of a leader,” Fournette told Jalen & Jacoby. “Like I always tell everyone that I know, when it was playoff games, he was up at 5:30 going over film. He was telling the team what to expect; ‘This is what’s going to happen in the game. ‘ Because he’s pretty much played against every defensive coordinator in the league.  … Like I said, appreciate everything he does. It’s just excellent to see greatness in my eyes every day. You know, I play next to the greatest player who is playing football every day. So just taking bit by bit from him, learning from him each and every day. It’s incredible to see what that man does.”

And Joe needs to emphasize the relative energy in very-laid-back Fournette’s voice when the delivered the words above.

Playoff Lenny added that a combination of Brady’s determination, attitude and will to win separates him from everyone else. And Fournette said Brady is completely selfless when it comes to stats.

and some said our previous qb was a great leader….lol….

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  2. Robert Says:

we had a previous QB? I thought he was just a taco touching, spineless, blackhole of loss and vacuum filled dome.

  3. Slugglife Says:

And the sky will begin to rain SALT!

Amazingly enough the guys in the locker room attribute their recent success to the intangible skill brought to them by one man. Meanwhile the salty contaminate to bristle at this phenomenon.

    You know who you are.

  4. Slugglife Says:

Who will be the first to tell Playoff Lenny that he knows nothing about football?

You’ve been so quick to tell us of our lack of understanding and knowledge. Time to take a swing at Lenny if you’re man enough.

even we are FREE of him, once in a while feel good to remind ourselves where were we just 18 months ago… for 5 years… wow

  6. WyldKat Says:

I remember. Every time I saw someone catch something in stride this year, I remembered.

  7. Youngbucs Says:

Wait he’s selfless when it comes to stats come on Tom tell them to check they sheets!!!

  8. SlyPirate Says:

A lot of JW Bashing going on. I get it.

JW can be the best and worst QB in the league. Too often in the same drive.

Halloween will be fun. Every player will be so amped up.

  9. SB Says:

I know that I sure will be Sly!!!

  10. Bucsfanman Says:

Man is it good to have Brady on our team! You just feel like, as a Buc fan, you can go anywhere at any time and beat the brakes off of another team for a change.

  11. Iamabuc Says:

I never heard anybody saying that JW3 was a leader.

  12. D-Rome Says:

    Amazing quote.

  13. Joe Says:

I never heard anybody saying that JW3 was a leader.

Never watched “Hard Knocks” or listened to Jason Licht, eh?

(Turned out he was no leader.)

  14. Hodad Says:

So it’s not the great Hoody, but Tom’s greatness all along those years?

  15. Slugglife Says:

That was just lip service Joe. Of course Licht is gonna talk up his starting QB as a great leader.

JE had us eating Ws. That’s leadership!

  16. Cobraboy Says:

Like the GM will say “Our Turnover Machine QB is a poor leader.”

Maybe Licht was teaching ATM the lessons of The Little Train Who Could.

    Ha!

    Excellent observation…and what a difference!

With Brady, how many thought on every 3rd down “We got this”…and were correct?

With Winston, how many thought on every 3rd down “Here comes a forved pass INT”… and were correct?

  17. Ronnie Says:

    That’s Kool(Tom Brady)and the gang Bucs
Tom Brady is the Greatest Quarterback ever
Second to none!!!! No brag just fact!!!!!

  18. Youngbucs Says:

Cobraboy he was good on 3rd downs in the top in the league.

  19. Bbro Says:

I’m looking forward to another good year from Lenny and his comments on Brady tell me that Brady plays because he loves the game and it’s not a job it’s a passion. I imagine that’s rare and I’m sure there’s times he does see it as a job but that all changes as soon as he starts the process of how to outperform his next competitor.

  20. Poorhouse Bob Says:

After being a Patriots fan for close to sixty years and watching them lose for forty of them,we get Brady and with that 20 years of the best football a fan could ask for. How they let him leave is not only a slap in the face to Brady but to the fans as well. I’m happy Tampa is enjoying what I have been and still am enjoying for the last two decades plus.
Even though I wear my Bucs hat every day I refer to the team as the “Tom Bradys”

  21. stpetebucsfan Says:

    Bob

We feel your pain…sort of…you did get to enjoy a great run eh?

So how about a question answered from your perspective.

As an outsider I look at Belichiks overall career record and notice that the “legend” had four losing seasons to one winning season his five years in Cleveland. OK that’s the Browns.

But he also lost his first season in NE without Brady and “coincidentally” lost his last season without Brady.

IE Bill Belichik is LITERALLY a loser without Tom Brady on his squad.

IMHO Belichik is a great DC but mediocre to poor HC who LUCKED into TB12.

  22. David Moretti Says:

I’m a huge Buffalo Bills fan but when Brady went to tampa bay and won the super bowl I must give the Man props he truly is the GOAT after he took over in my mind from Joe Montana even if I don’t like the man credit must be given were credit is do sincerely David j moretti

  23. David Moretti Says:

After losing 4 super bowls in a row will never happen again but is that really any competition i guess for bills fans it is but Josh Allen has our hopes up again so please Buffalo bills beat the bucs in the super bowl this year and all will be forgotten roflmao not but maybe peace out David j moretti 941 250-6721
