Hope Breeds Season Ticket Sales
June 23rd, 2021A guy who saw his full share of visiting fans filling the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway, or empty red seats disguised as Bucs fans, understands why the Bucs have no more season tickets left.
And that man is no less of an authority than former Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik.
Co-hosting “The Blitz” last week with Bill Lekas heard exclusively on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Dominik said the Bucs sellouts boil down to real hope.
Dominik said those who dismiss the Bucs’ chances to repeat are not looking at the big picture. The NFC South is down, Dominik noted, increasing the chances of a loaded Bucs team winning games and winning the division.
Tom Brady “walks into a division that is a little bit different than last year,” Dominik said. “So not only did Tampa Bay return everybody, the division across the board is a lot more insecure.”
Dominik said Matt Ryan will be a lesser quarterback without Julio Jones, the slimy Saints no longer have Drew Brees and Sam Darnold is a major question mark with the Stinking Panthers. Hence, the Bucs are in position to win more games.
“That’s what makes the season more exciting [for Bucs fans] and I think that’s why you see Tampa Bay fans go out and buy season tickets,” Dominik said. “‘Hey, let’s go see Tom Brady play. We have a chance to win every week.’ That’s super exciting.”
If drama queen Aaron Rodgers follows through with his threat to sit out this season or retire, Dominik claims that would remove the biggest obstacle the Bucs have to repeat as Super Bowl champs.
Joe cannot disagree with anything Dominik said. Without Rodgers, it may be the Rams who pose the biggest challenge for the Bucs to overcome.

Biggest Challenge the Bucs will need to overcome is being healthy. Injuries is a sure fire way to kill hope.

Rams and 49ers

Sadly there will be a large percentage of other colors

I’ve been watching that YouTube series, Tom Brady against the World on my spare moments, and toward the end of the Green Bay game, Rodgers had a perfect td pass dropped in the end zone. You KNOW he was thinking…”had they spent that #1 on a wide receiver”…
June 23rd, 2021 at 7:54 am
I thought Love was a stupid pick. When you have an elite QB who could take your team to the Super Bowl, why would you spend an early round draft pick on his eventual replacement?
June 23rd, 2021 at 8:00 am
It’s entirely possible had that catch been made they would have gone to the SB instead of us. There’s no way that hasn’t been bugging him all winter and spring
June 23rd, 2021 at 8:32 am
I’m glad Mark Dominik can no longer destroy this team with his horrible drafts and ding bat free agent signings.
He was one of the worst GMs in NFL history – right next to Matt Millen and Bruce Allen.
What a total nincompoop.

Kaptain Morgan, thanks Captain Obvious.
June 23rd, 2021 at 8:58 am
Dominik is the maroon who paid too much attention to his press clippings, thereby wrecking the team and killing ticket sales. What a poser. I still feel sick whenever he is mentioned.

I’ve given up on trying to see a game in person this year, probably going to get the NFL game pass
June 23rd, 2021 at 9:29 am
I still think the Saints will be very good.
June 23rd, 2021 at 9:54 am
Underestimating the Saints would be a bit foolish…they had the Bucs # the first 10 quarters they played last season. I think the Rams are going to be the toughest out to be honest…
June 23rd, 2021 at 9:55 am
If the Bucs sweep the division and Rodgers turns to Jeopardy, it will be hard to not see the Bucs in the Superbowl again. The NFC lost a lot of ground this year, Rams are definitely a threat but I’m on the fence with the 49ers.
June 23rd, 2021 at 9:57 am
I would be happy to see any single game at the Den of a Dynasty (that will be the name very soon) just to see what is arguably the most talented Bucs roster ever assembled.
June 23rd, 2021 at 10:32 am
lol calling our next quarter back a drama queen. c’mon joe!
I called A-A-Ron to be our next quarterback after Tom the night GB drafted another QB.
June 23rd, 2021 at 10:40 am
Even with a dying arm, Drew Brees was an excellent “thinking man’s” QB. While the Saints will miss Brees, I think they’re still a quality team loaded with talent and a sharp but detestable head coach. I see the roles reversed this season, with the Bucs taking the division and the Saints making the cut as a wild card team.
June 23rd, 2021 at 10:40 am
I just read that Brady wanted to go to the Saints, but they decided to stick with Brees.
Tampa was his second choice, according to that article.
June 23rd, 2021 at 10:44 am
So many fans of other teams with our tiny turn out years. That really sucked. Now, Brady and the Bucs have lit a fire under this cities ass and we’ll once again get to hear an elbow to elbow TAMPA -> BAY!!! My bud has had season tickets on the west side near the fifty and almost twenty rows up since ‘76. He use to give me tickets if he wasn’t using them. Not this year.
June 23rd, 2021 at 10:51 am
Brees was face of the franchise. There was no way New Orleans would sign Brady over Brees, it was Drew’s choice as to whether he wished to play last season. That’s the right way to handle business. There’s also a wrong way, which is why Brady isn’t in New England.

Go check Rodgers’ numbers in warm weather sites. Not pretty. May want to reassess.
June 23rd, 2021 at 11:59 am
1st real QB with NFL caliber talent in Bucs history creates a hope and excitement after so many decades of waiting, wishing, longing for these days to come!
June 23rd, 2021 at 12:15 pm
Correlation=/= causation @joe.
‘warm weather locations’ also happens to typically be long road trips for his team.
He hates living in green bay, look at where he chooses to go in the off season.
If it were weather related, it could just be an acclimation issue, and not simply a ‘he plays bad in the heat issue’.
June 23rd, 2021 at 1:42 pm
Rodgers isn’t coming to Tampa Bay post Brady or otherwise. He hates the stadium/turf and frankly not sure the Bucs would want him anyways. Tremendous talent…mediocre leader at best. Let’s ask Ira ( who isn’t a huge fan either ).

Can’t listen to Dom’s voice. I’m reminded of the lost decade that he ushered in. He made Hugh Culverhouse look like Jason Licht.
June 23rd, 2021 at 3:39 pm
IDK guys, what if we just became the destination.
Brady
Rodgers
idk who the next guy is, say rodgers does 2 years
Dak? Mayfield?Russel wilson?
June 23rd, 2021 at 4:41 pm
Listening to Dom is like cheating off the kid with a D average in class.
He offered little “hope” to fans during his reign of terror on this fanbase.
June 23rd, 2021 at 10:05 pm
Ugh. Story about nothing. They won the super bow, signed everyone and Tom Brady is the quarterback. Let’s not make this any more complicated.
June 23rd, 2021 at 11:36 pm
Dominik – still spilling coffee and wiping his chin 7 years after he finished 28-52 as a GM.
June 24th, 2021 at 6:53 am
What he meant to say was Bandwagon city USA.
June 24th, 2021 at 12:15 pm
I’ve spent a ton of time at a vacation home on Michigan’s UP. Up there it’s all Pack all the time.
If Rodgers plays then yes they’ll be threat to the Bucs reaching the SB…but even if Rodgers does play, Stafford on a talented team out in LA may be the bigger threat.
June 24th, 2021 at 5:34 pm
If you weren’t here for the past decade, I don’t want you here now.
Some of us paid our dues.
