Kyle Trask And Bruce Arians’ Future

During underwear football season when the Bucs announced that Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians was given a raise, Arians quipped he may stick around longer than Tom Brady.
Of course, yesterday Brady didn’t exactly slam the door on the prospect of playing beyond his contract that expires after the 2022 season.
Joe wonders if Kyle Trask has something to do with Arians’ verbal dalliance of coaching longer than expected?
Remember, after winning the Super Bowl, Arians was asked if he would coach after the 2021 season and responded, “We’ll see.” He often said he didn’t want to train a new group of assistants and that losing several would likely send him back to his golf course in Georgia.
Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report recently cited Trask as the Bucs’ most intriguing project. And after underwear football Arians boasted about Trask’s skills.
Arians’ recent willingness to embrace coaching longer than he discussed earlier in the year gives Joe a hunch that there is a succession plan being worked on between Team Glazer and Todd Bowles and/or Byron Leftwich.
You know, coach-in-waiting?
Perhaps Bowles is being slotted to succeed Arians whenever he decides to hang it up and Leftwich would stick around to remain as the Bucs offensive coordinator?
If the Bucs are working on deals to sweeten or lengthen the contracts of assistants, and given the chance to groom Trask, perhaps this had changed Arians’ mind about the future?

I suspect at both Arians and Brady’s age, despite their continued bathing in the Puddle of Youth, their tenure is a year-by-year thing.
I also suspect it would be management malpractice not to have some sort of succession plan in place.

Some coaches just have great success as coordinators but have no business at HC because it seems to be to much for them… Bowles absolutely bombed as Jets HC..
Would Leftwich be any better? Who knows…
My concern for the future is not with Trask taking over for Brady but who replaces Arians… A good coach and system are just as important as the player!

Lmao Joe. You nailed it Joe. He’s sticking around for Trask. BR? Lmao x2. Jason Licht is not going to totally change up coaching staff like he had every few years during the depression. Believe it’s going to be the Bucs that make that decision, not BA. Leftwich or Bowels (ain’t the Jets) could probably keep a lot of these good assistant coaches around. BA can tell himself whatever he wants but he got a raise, not extension. He could be gone after this season if they really want BL or Bowels to take over and another team tries to make them a deal.

I have heard that the Bucs are pleasantly surprised by Trask.
A few years behind Tom Brady, and he will most likely be our next QB.
It is important to remember that Tom Brady did not really light it up in College.
He was a back up QB at Michigan.

I would rather Brady take over as coach….if leftwich takes over give up your season tickets.Bowles would be my pick between the two as he was screwed and left with nothing in NY. byron will never be a head coach

I agree with Joes hunch. And it is comforting to think about the Bucs having a longterm plan. Ive had my fill of firing coaches every two years and starting all over again.
When Bruce does decide to retire he has a vested intrest of the success of his replacement. More importantly Bruce cares a lot about his assistants……And I dont think Bruce will dump the next coach with an inexperienced QB. Im betting Bruce stays HC after Brady to groom Trask and make sure hes ready. Bruce is going to ensure his successor has a team capable of competing, and he will make sure they are not without a decent QB.

Byron Leftwich just OCed one of the most potent offenses in all of the NFL. Literally got us to the SuperBowl with one of the greatest calls in NFL history……….Whenever Bruce leaves we are still gonna have tons of weapons. If we lose our Biscuit offense thise weapons go to waste.
Bryon must be the next HC and I pray everynight he will be avialable and not snactched away by another team.

Lol. From who? BA? Licht? Any team would say great things about their second pick. Especially before OTA. A depth draft, right? People need to get a clue that Griffin is 30, and Gabbert is 31. I hope Trask can keep a dynasty going but a LOT of people are getting way over their head about where he will be after Tom. And an awesome backup would be awesome if he did fall into that position.

Wow, can Bucs play this season first? Injuries dictate this game and if by chance Brady has a season ending injury he is done and then you will see what Trask can do but for now take a breath and let the puppy get potty trained before you remove the newspaper.

It’s clear what you people mean when you use phrases like “He is not head coach material”. You live on the wrong side of history where body of work matters less than other “measurable” you set. Fortunately you are aren’t “owner material” and will never get to influence coaching decisions.

Trask has all of the physical tools to be successful and is in an ideal situation, so I like the chances of him being a good starter when Brady retires. I’m good with Leftwhich or Bowles taking over when Arians retires, but I’m leaning towards Leftwich right now.

I doubt the Glazer’s want Bowles as their H.C., Leftwich would be their guy. I don’t think they want to lose him to another team. Arain’s likes Trask so much be his QB coach, Asst. H.C., let lefty take over.

Brady wasn’t a “backup” at michigan. 20-5 as a starter. He did split time with drew henson but brady was team captain as a senior and set their record for pass competions one year.

Brady was Backup to Henson. He got a chance to play after Drew got hurt. He honestly didn’t really impress in college hence why he was drafted so late. Most seniors are team captains if they have enough playing time. He did have a good record as starter, but that’s when Michigan put good teams on the field year after year. But yes Brady was a backup and his record is mostly from playing due to injuries to the starter.

Wasn’t Chad Henne the starting QB in Brady’s first year or 2 at Michigan. I’m not sure so im asking not questioning Brady record or starter status.

Some of yall can’t see pass Brady I can’t wait to see if the bucs can finally develop a quarterback . Brady ain’t got much time left we have to hope he don’t fall off because he is year to year . Brady did a good job last year but Brady will always be a Patriot.
