Ryan Jensen Reveals Major Parade Injury
June 14th, 2021No, all the mayhem among Bucs players at the Super Bowl boat parade is hardly fully known to the public.
A few weeks ago Shaq Barrett talked on a podcast about how JPP was cracked in the head during the parade with a thrown beer bottle.
No, Joe never followed up to ask about JPP’s condition. The dude survived — and thrived — after literally blowing digits off his hand and breaking his neck in a car crash, so Joe assumed a beer to the dome was no big deal. (Hope it was Big Storm!)
Ryan Jensen, however, spoke recently about a more serious parade injury that required medical attention.
Talking to the Celebrity GamerZ show, Jensen shared that “one of our backup lineman” caught a champagne bottle thrown to him from another parade party boat. The catch was clean, per Jensen, but when the unnamed lineman popped the cork, the bottle it exploded completely. The result was a gashed hand that Jensen estimated to be about four or five inches long.
“It was actually kind of scary,” Jensen said of the explosion. “The whole bottle shattered in his hand, and I mean, like gashed him. It was just like gushing blood every where. It was kind of scary; it was kind of crazy. But he was laughing and having a good time the whole time, then he went and got stitches after the parade.
“It was one of those wild, like holy cow, did-that–really-just-happen-type moment.”
Ouch!
Joe Haeg? Josh Wells? A.Q. Shipley?
Joe will get to the bottom of it eventually. And Joe can only imagine the parade — and post-parade stories — that will trickle out over time.

“one of our backup lineman” I guess we can only assume it was an Olineman, but he didn’t specify.

fyi. you only have 4-6 hours to suture a gash before the tissues on the edges die and leave you with a Frankenstein type of scar.

Well this doesn’t even compare to how many people were butt hurt over the Lombardi toss. 🙂

Ain’t no thang. I’d be more afraid if it happened yesterday.

O and D linemen are tough as nails. Starters or backups. I’d hate to even think about getting into a pier 6 brawl with any of them.

Is “backup” lineman confirmed? Only asking because of Suh’s mysterious hand injury….

Heh, I’m 60, had JUST such a cut on my forearm a few days before I started 8th grade in 1974. I just covered it up with gauze and told mom not to worry about it. To this day, you can see the scar from low earth orbit

Beej
Lol. I’ve got a few too many scars from not getting gashes addressed too. No super bowl trophy to show for them either.
