In the mind of one long-time NFL observer and reporter, how the Bucs have built an offense around Tom Brady is just about perfect.
Judy Battista of NFL.com recently typed an article highlighting eight teams that got it right when it comes to helping out their starting quarterbacks. Obviously, quarterback relationships with teams is all the rage this summer as Packers drama queen QB Aaron Rodgers pouts in Hawaii.
However, Battisa did not include the Bucs in her eight-team list. Instead, she singled out the Bucs for setting the standard.

How do you make things even better for Tom Brady? You win a Super Bowl and then you bring back everybody — EVERYBODY! — in a quest to run it back, and you ask him to evaluate receivers in the draft. This is something of an unprecedented experiment, but quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen told reporters last week that Brady was talking the morning after the Super Bowl about how he would be better next season because he was going to get his knee fixed, which suggests that Brady expects the offense to continue the upward trend it started late last season. What could delight him more, especially with New England on the schedule this season?
It’s easy to grasp but apparently a lot of teams don’t see the light. You have a smart guy like Brady who has an inner-inferno to win. He’s been around the block. He knows what it takes. He knows what traits and talents necessary to win.
Why wouldn’t a team seek his advice?
Why wouldn’t a team keep him in the loop?
This is just common sense to Joe. Apparently, it’s not all that common.

EGO gets in the way of intelligence. How did Belicheck let TB go? Clearly, in retrospect, the problem with TB last year was lack of weapons (and just as clear is that the Bucs only lacked a QB who could limit TOs – perfect storm, right?).
BUT, who picked those weapons for the Pats? BB; so it CAN’T be BB’s fault. It must be the QB who is old and declining – get rid of him before he falls apart!!

B.A. has referred to Brady as a coach. There’s a level of trust and respect that Brady has earned. Other players want that but haven’t earned it. GO BUCS!

Getting the best football player ever involved in some decision making is a no brainer. Accomplished players like Wilson and big baby Rodgers also deserve to be heard. The problem (for other teams) is when a guy like Watson starts demanding to be involved in making decisions (Allegedly) when he hasn’t accomplished a damn thing. I realize that it’s all the rage in today’s society to demand things that you haven’t earned, but everyone needs to pay their dues. I blame the idiot parents that demanded that everyone should get a trophy. 😜
