Ryan Jensen Says He Was A Tom Brady Hater

Ryan Jensen reveals

Joe can never get enough good Tom Brady stories.

Today’s nugget comes from the guy who, arguably, is required to be closest to Brady, Bucs center Ryan Jensen.

Speaking to the Celebrity GamerZ show, Jensen revealed that he was among the legions of Tom Brady haters before he got to know his QB.

“As another athlete watching Tom Brady do the crazy things that he does, you know, for whatever reason, people hate winners,” Jensen said. “Everybody’s always a hater on winners, and I was right there with everybody else in the world, especially growing up here in Denver. You know, Denver hates New England.”

Jensen went on to explain that he was suspicious of what Brady would be like as a teammate but quickly changed his perception. Jensen said his “biggest surprise” in a year with Brady was finding out how “down to earth” and “normal-guy” Brady is.

And as if he was serving up raw meat for the Jameis Winston haters, Jensen went on to talk about how Brady is “not being fake leader” and not a “rah-rah-guy,” and Jensen added that as a veteran he appreciated the “change of pace” in leadership and QB quality that could improve an entire team.

“Immature” is how Jensen described the 2018 Bucs locker room and said he could tell why the team had been struggling soon after arriving to Tampa Bay as a free agent. Then, per Jensen, the locker room started to “tilt in the right direction” under Bruce Arians in 2o19 before Brady raised all boats.

On The Brady Effect, Jensen said it’s very real. “It’s just weird. He’s one of those guys where when he speaks, people listen.”

The mere sight of Brady changes everyone around him, per Jensen: “people start upping their level of attention to detail.”

This has been a common theme with these players when they speak of Tom Brady’s affect on this team. I don’t believe it’s wind up the skirt stuff. They believe what they are saying about him. That gives them an edge, in my humble opinion.

The undefinable and unmeasurable “IT” factor that every team looks for in their quarterbacks.

  3. Howard Cosell Says:

Howard hated Brady before he came to Tampa.
Now Howard has Santeria style shrine built to TB12 in his living room

  4. gp Says:

    @Howard
    LOL!!
    I don’t ha a shrine, but I hear ya!

    IN OTHER NEWS…

    HOW ABOUT “CHAMPA BAY” ???

-> Tampa Bay Lightning one series win away from the Stanley Cup Finals and a chase to repeat as Champions!

-> Tampa Bay Rays with 41 wins, the most in baseball!

  8. Bird Says:

I was in that group too

It got so old to see Patriots and Brady in super bowl every dang year
And the bucs look like a hairy deusk every year

The goat saw the unpolished talent and made a big gamble to be apart of the losing franchise in all 4 major sports.

The man is the best of all time. Not sure you can say otherwise
And to think some people thought bust (here on this site ) even early in the season
Yah – you know who you are

    😂 🤡

    PROVE IT!!!!!

  10. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I bet 90 percent of our fan base hated Brady before he came here. And, I bet 90 percent of us thought there was no way that TB would be our QB. Count me in that 90 percent on both counts.

  11. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

Brady changed the locker room by the mere fact he was around. That is what you call, “earned respect.”

  12. PSL Bob Says:

I think a lot of us were in the “hate Brady” group. Really knew nothing about him personally and grasped on to any negative news, like deflate gate. Now I can see the professionalism and intangible qualities he brings to OUR team. I’m not on the love train yet, but certainly respect the man and his accomplishments.

  13. Slugglife Says:

Not a story that will appeal to the Brady hating Bucs fans we see around here.

  14. Slugglife Says:

We must also give the proper due to our linebacking core. David and White in particular. Those guys are leaders in the purest form.

Brady taught them all how to be leaders and to know when to follow. And who wouldn’t follow the “savior or the defense” into the fire now?

  15. DoooshLaRue Says:

    I guess I’m different.
I hated JayMiss (after his 3rd year here)

I always admired TB even though I disliked the Patriots.
How can you not respect what he did for so long with so little most of the time?

  16. Beeej Says:

I gotta say I hated Brady to varying degrees from when he took Drew Bledsoe’s job, RIGHT up until he won that Super Bowl against Atlanta. Ya can’t NOT admire that. He’s been my fantasy qb ever since, even tho running qb’s usually make more points

  17. Winny Testaverde Says:

When TB completed the 28-3 comeback vs the dirty birds…I had nothing but respect for him from then on. I desperately didn’t want the Falcons to have a Super Bowl Championship. Yes…I’m that spiteful of a fan vs certain teams.

  18. Bucsfan951 Says:

    February 7, 2020: 951 hated Brady.

    February 7, 2021: 951 wore a Brady bucs jersey.

    It’s easy to hate greatness.

  19. SOEbuc Says:

I knew Brady was off the charts amazing in NE, but was always saying of course they’re gonna get the first round bye in the AFC East every year. That mind set was crushed in 2020.

  20. Sport Says:

Jensen provides another sign JW lost the team.

Just getting rid of “you’re trying too hard” JW would have been a relief on locker room moral.

Adding Brady took it to another stratosphere..

Jensen said the Patriots line was only good because they had Brady. He made our line top 5 in the league.

    Pretty amazing.

    In BA I Trust!

  21. Allbuccedup Says:

Jensen is a top five center in the NFL the Bucs ought to sign him to a four year 45 mil contract.

  22. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Guess that’s why he’s good for 3-4 snaps over Brady’s head a season

  23. Greg Says:

Wow! How fortunate for us to be part of and to witness the Brady effect! His presence to raise the level of teammates with on field expectations to his humble persona. His teammates realize this is a once in a career opportunity to get that ring like they did the last season and we are in for one heck of a ride!

Me too on all of the above.

  25. bucsince79 aka bumaneer Says:

Gotta love the Jensen is brutally honest. Doesn’t sugar coat s**t… Truth be told I was a Brady/NE hater as well….

  26. Ne+ bucs fan Says:

    I wasn’t,,,,, LOL

  27. Cdizzle46 Says:

I’ve been a Bucs fan my whole life, and I liked Jameis Winston. But the immaturity got old, I never liked Tom Brady because of all the hype, but after seeing the way he changed this team in the last year I’ve become a fan.go Tompa Bay!!

  28. SB Says:

LOL “Fake leadership”, “Rah rah guy” ” Nice to have a change of pace”, “Immature lockerroom”,
He spoke candidly to say the least.

  29. Terry O'Hora Says:

    Brady / Ruth / Gretzky / Nicklaus / Brown /Russell / Jordan / LeBron (yes, lebron) / Earnhardt

  30. geno711 Says:

@Terry O’Hora not sure if your list is GOAT for sure.

For me Brady is ahead of Jordan is you are talking leader of a team.
If you are talking about playing ability and willing your team to Championship, I would have Jordan ahead of Brady.

The undefinable and unmeasurable “IT” factor that every team looks for in their quarterbacks.

    __________
    You got that right!

Different pieces of the “It” factor are what I see as missing in Jameis Winston as well as Aaron Rodgers.

Also, it is funny how being a “normal guy” is one of those intangible pieces of Tom Brady’s character.

  32. Bellingham Bucs Fan Says:

Bucs fan since Doug Williams was under center. Hated Jameis and admired the Patriot Way.

  33. FlBoy84 Says:

Going to go on a limb and surmise Jensen isn’t having JW over for BBQ anytime soon… lol

  34. Buckaroo Boozie Says:

Famous Jamis way of giving back to community is throwing interceptions 🤣
