“He Kept Begging To Go Back In”

June 8th, 2021

Imagine saying “No” to Tom Brady.

That’s what Bucco Bruce Arians had to do this morning at One Buc Palace at Day 1 of mandatory mincamp.

Brady wanted to play, push his surgically repaired knee more than Arians agreed to do. The head coach explained he had to put his foot down.

“He kept begging to go back in,” Arians said of Brady.

Arians said he planned to give Brady four series which became a little more before he reeled Brady in completely.

“The only thing I didn’t want him in was the blitz period where, you know, some guys might get around him too quick,” Arians added. “Trying to stop him from playing is pretty tough.”

Arians was very upbeat about practice in general, noting the eagerness and energy was so high that both practice fields completed the day’s work about 25 minutes early.

Very hard to prevent a competitor from competing, even in practice.

I have always looked forward to the upcoming season with optimism.
This year seems a little different. The optimism has been replaced with expectation. It’s a rare and good feeling.

  2. stpetebucsfan Says:

Brady is obviously a COMPETITOR. It’s stronger than ever now.

He’s chasing another SB, and a perfect season. Meanwhile Father Time is chasing him just as hard.

Tom is just following the advice of great sports sage Satchel Paige.

“Don’t look back. Something might be gaining on you.”

Our SB means little to him now. That was then this is NOW!!! Dude doesn’t need any videos on “mindfulness” or staying in the moment that’s for sure.

I like how many of the trolls have disappeared from the comments since we won the Super Bowl. This goes to show that they were never true Bucs fans to begin with, and people giving them any attention or trying to change their mind was useless. Just trolls being trolls…

  4. Pine Hills Says:

Last year I was just hoping to maybe win a playoff game. This year it’s superbowl or bust.

    iron sharpens iron BA!!!!!!!…lol…let’em play!!!!

    jk…IN BA WE TRUST!!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  6. Ben green Says:

These are the kind of reps that get thumbs broken and knees rolled up on. BA is flexing his muscles. His coaching accumun is Brady, I mean great

  7. Cainishere Says:

Brady just wants to make sure his arm and legs get a good workout is all. True professional

  8. Joe Q Says:

Brady is “all-go” in practice and games!! He wants too stay in for all of it. Sometimes, BA needs to protect Brady from Brady.

  9. geno711 Says:

Wait, I thought some of the media and fans narrative is that Brady is totally running every facet of the offense. i.e. no one else has mattered since mid-season last year.

Just more proof that these guys work well together – like we did not know when we won the Super Bowl.

  13. SlyPirate Says:

Buc92’ … Dude, you may be right.

    Does TB12 have a gut?

  14. David Says:

I’m always begging to get back in. Unfortunately I’m always turned down.

  15. Jamesb33 Says:

Sly Pirate & Buc’92…give me a break! TB12 most certainly doesn’t have a gut! It’s called padding for practice!

  16. LISTNFRMAFAR Says:

Not hearing any of this about Wilson, Ryan, Roger’s, Stafford. Mahomes I am sure he is grinding, last SB best down didn’t sit to well with him.

  17. Bayless Says:

Let’s see how Arians does when they’re up by 40 in Foxboro and tries to take Brady out.

  18. gp Says:

    @Bayless
That’s a game that Ariens might let him “run it up” (as long as Brady doesn’t become a target)

That being said, If we are regularly running up scores we may see Brady taking 4th quarter breaks this year. Our greatest depth issue is the lack of “real game” experience with some of our QB back-ups

  19. LISTNFRMAFAR Says:

Bayless, on the contrary, that would be even better, Belichick never took him out. If he leaves in the 3rd quarter a complete slap in the face to BB.
