Biggest Obstacle Overcome
June 5th, 2021Recently on “Good Morning Football,” the weekday NFL Network show, the co-hosts sat around the virtual breakfast table and discussed what could be the biggest obstacle for the Bucs to overcome this season.
Shaun O’Hara, a Pro Bowl center on the 2007 Giants that beat then-Belicheats quarterback Tom Brady and the undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl, has first-hand knowledge how difficult repeating is.
However, O’Hara said the biggest Bucs obstacle already has been conquered.
“The big obstacle is, can you bring the guys back? They did that,” O’Hara said.
“They are the first [Super Bowl-winning] team (in the free agency era) to bring all 22 starters back.
“When you have success and you win a Super Bowl, that success is so hard to handle because [players] go elsewhere. They get bigger contracts. They move on. You have to replace guys. The Bucs haven’t had to do that. It’s almost mind-boggling.
“It just goes to show how many people want to play with Tom Brady. They want to play for Bruce Arians and Byron Leftwich and Todd Bowles and how much they have changed that culture with the Bucs.”
Still, O’Hara said the next big obstacle is something almost out of the Bucs’ hands. O’Hara noted the Bucs got hot right at the perfect time: December. And they carried that momentum all the way through the Super Bowl.
“What happens if they peak too soon?” O’Hara asked of 2021.
In 2008, the Giants had the best training camp and preseason he ever experienced. Then they began the season humming and after a few weeks, injuries popped up and the castle began to crumble.

It’s almost a certainty that they’ll have key injuries to overcome. The offensive line is of particular concern. To expect the whole line to stay healthy two years in a row is not realistic. Look for the bucs to make an emergency trade if a key lineman goes down early. If healthy, I don’t think they can loose

It is definitely Health!
A Healthy Bucs team wins the SB again!

The Bucs lost 2 lineman last year for the season, AQ Shipley amd Ca[ppa at the worst time. Also Ali Marpet missed a couple of Games. So to say the Line stayed healthy, that is not an accurate statement. This is the kind of thing that devastates teams, But the Bucs weathered the storm. Stinnie came in for Cappa and balled out through the Post season. Again take a bow J Licht for the deep roster you have built. GO BUCS!!!!

If they can have a 20 game hot streak, I won’t mind if they start with the Cowboys.

This has what itâs come down to after this year? Fans talking about injuries that havenât occurred that wonât win us another one. Tell me a deeper all around team??? Stinnie was awesome. We just drafted this senior that was a versatile two year captain at ND. We have great coaching!!! Dudes do not get into the NFL if they donât have the potential. Especially if Jason Licht found em. They arenât all the GOAT.
Is it just the cute little Kay Adams jokes that keeps you referencing GMFB all the time? Talk about nats. So sad they wonât allow good football talk by smart people on TV without it being some dumbass shouting match the entire time.

@Soebuc. Unfortunately supposed entertainment is slowly replacing actual reporting and intelligent sports talk. Lazy takes everywhere u look. There are more casual fans than actual knowledgeable fans these days so the networks have to keep short attention span America entertained.

Aug.76-
I was thinking the same thing. And donât forget OJ Howard was out for the season early. We knew Gronk would start off slow so OJ was our #1 TE. Godwin missed time and played when others wouldnât have.
The Bucs were relatively healthy in â20 but not nearly as much as they claim.

I get that everyone is saying Bucs brought all 22 starters. Do they consider ROjO or playoff Lenny the starter? What about AB? Was the starter Stinnie or Cappa? At the beginning of the season, wasnât it both Gronk and OJ part f the starting line up. What about Soccup the kicker? In other words, Bucs brought back pretty much every contributor from last season including the coaches. What does that guarantee, absolutely nothing, but I like it. Welcome Gio, Joe Tryon, Darden and Raven Green – that is only going to make us deeper and better

I think the biggest obstacle is coaching, not talent or even injury.
The offense could be uninspired–running up the middle or a 40 yd bomb, but I think Brady gradually insisted on variety, and he now has great credibility.
But Bowles? Has he learned often you need press man and two high safeties.? His soft zones nearly did us in. Is he unpredictable on purpose? Because I have no idea what he is thinking half the time. He worries me greatly.

Vea, Capp, Marpet, OJ, Godwin, Evans, AB, Rojo, AW, Whitehead, all missed games and or played injured. Another lazy take. Depth is key. These teams with top heavy salaries donât have depth. Bucs have good depth everywhere especially if Tryon, Britt, Hainsey and maybe even Stuard develope. Stinnie could start on a lot of teams. Surprised somebody didnât steal him. Oh, and Brady and JPP played injured all year.

Kentucky BucâŚYeah Iâm 32 but Iâm an old fart in this hip modern age. All ignoramus and no class but thatâs beyond JBF.

The biggest obstacle to winning back-to-back SBs is winning the first one.
The biggest obstacle after winning the first one is winning another when you have the “Old Stale Biscuit” as your coach….
Where did that go?
June 5th, 2021 at 3:23 pm
The second one is way harder to win than the first.
June 5th, 2021 at 3:42 pm
@UKBuccaneer â
31 teams are trying to win a first SB. Only one is the defending champ.
While there havenât been many repeat winners, we see a number of teams getting back to the championship and some to the SB. KC and the Pats come to mind. So a lot more get into striking range of repeating than of getting a first ring
Just sayinâ.

I believe any talk about 2 in row is premature and non-productive. The only game we should focus on is Dallas. I can practically guarantee if the coaches and players concentrate on SB 2 they will find themselves picking in the the top 10 prospects in 2022.

If “Good Morning Football” is beneath your standards, then why exactly did you read this post/view the video? There are like 40,000+ other stories on this site. Yet you choose one with info from a show you think is vapid. Yet Joe is the dumbass here, eh? smh
As for the Adams’ line, Joe has referenced Peter Schrager far more than Kay Adams. Joe’s archives are free to whoever wants to access them. Go see for yourself.
And Joe can promise you Schrager talks a helluva lot more about the Bucs than Adams does.
And given that Joe knows for a fact Schrager regularly speaks with a shot-caller at One Buc Palace, maybe you shouldn’t be so quick to slam something he says about the Bucs.
Why exactly would Joe want to ignore anyone who talks about the Bucs much less Bucs chatter on one of the more successful morning shows on sports network television? That’s not how this site was built; that’s not why this site is successful and Joe doesn’t believe in fixing something that is not broken.
There are lesser sites that Joe is confident never watch NFL Network. Joe has zero desire to drag down his successful business.

Lmao. Donât have a heart attack Joe. Didnât say I hate ur website. Did read the article, didnât watch the video. Hopefully that doesnât make me a troll lol. Iâve read plenty of the 40,000 articles on JBF reference GMFB and sexy little stabs at Kay.
Missed the net that Im totally dissing your site. JBF is where I go to find my good Bucs info most the time. And I gotta get everyone a little steamed in this offseason or it gets extremely boring listening to people talk âfuture injuriesâ that will wreck us all day. Itâs about these actors that the NFL puts on these shows that talk Brady, Mahomes, and Rodgers 90% of the time for merchandise and ticket sales and TV ratings. There is podcast and radio and sites now , but TV is something great to actually see what people are thinking and Bo Jack Sharpe, Acho, SAS are very good examples of how theyâve killed it. No class, so sad.
