Brady And Bucs Offense Worked Out

It was reported recently that Bucs quarterback Tom Brady made a passionate plea in a conference call to fellow members of the National Football League Players Association to boycott voluntary OTAs.
That didn’t mean Brady wasn’t going to work.
Maybe a three-minute drive away from One Buc Palace on Monday, at the New York Yankees minor league complex located just south of The Licht House along Himes Avenue, a private version of OTAs was led by the park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved, Bucs-Super-Bowl-winning quarterback.
Based on Brady’s and other teammates’ social media accounts, it appeared at least nine offensive players other than Brady were at the workout.
Just from what Joe noticed on Brady’s Instagram stories account and other players’ social media, the gathering included but was not limited to Ronald Jones, Justin Watson, Giovani Bernard, Cam Brate, Blaine Gabbert, Chris Godwin, Rob Gronkowski, Tyler Johnson and Ryan Griffin.
Playoff Lenny — from his own Instagram account — was working out somewhere undisclosed with Bills wideout Stephon Diggs. No word on Mike Evans, but at Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians’ foundation golf outing, Evans had said he was just waiting on Brady’s call to join a workout.
Antonio Brown flew to Tampa late yesterday afternoon and it appeared he was playing some sort of board game/cards with an associate on a private plane. Last night Brown posted an Instagram stories video of him getting his legs rubbed down. (Preparing to workout today?)
So even though Brady wants his NFLPA brothers in arms to stay away from their teams’ OTAs, that doesn’t mean Brady is going to loaf on his boat for a couple of days in the Gulf.
And yes, Joe will be at One Buc Palace today as the first OTA practice open to the fourth estate will be held this morning.

Brady and those guys just dont want to have overly competitive spring workouts with 11v11 and 1v1s. They can still work on scheme and conditioning without getting hurt. Hopefully they show up to OTAs and the coaches take care of them.

Can you show me where he wanted to boycott otas. I didnt not take that at all. He wanted meaningful discussions/ negotiations for both sides to come to agreement.
I mean brady is working out with teammates cause he cant get enough and wants to win another ring.

Rojo and bernard there. Joe you picked up on that yesterday with full running back room and you said rojo and/or fournette , who would show up for voluntary stuff.

Trask will be busy slinging it at OTA’s. He wasn’t invited to Tom’s private party. Seems silly boycotting OTA’s only to hold a private workout. If they showed up for OTA’s, they wouldn’t have to do any 11 on 11’s. Tom can do as much as he wants at any practice. If I was Griffen, I’d show up for OTA’s. He’s battling for that third spot with a second rounder.

This seems so hypocritical of Tom via his stance with the union (which is ridiculous). Why not go to One Buc and work out as BA has said he will allow with no coaches in observance. This way some of the players who are lower on the totem pole will not be risking their careers with an injury. Brady has tons of pull with the NFL and obv the bucs. It kind of sucks that Brady took such a pro union stance this year with the NFLPA and as a union it has THE worst leadership of all the major sports

I just hope the organization will honor the contracts if anyone gets hurt in those workouts, and not screw them over like Denver.

Wow. Show me where Brady said anything about boycotting OTAs . I don’t recall anyone griping about having private workouts last year. I think Brady probably knows what he’s doing a little more than we do.

I think Brady is pulling another rabbit from his helmet. He encourages the NFLPA to pressure players into boycotting OTAs, while the Bucs practice with Brady. That puts the Bucs a little ahead of the rest of the league in a game of ‘inches’.

Clearly the NFLPA asked Tom to speak on that conference call a while back and that’s why he did it. There is definitely some hypocrisy but I think his heart was in the right place and he wasn’t thinking about the rookie free agents etc.. just thinking he was doing a solid for the NFLPA

Don’t know if he was there or not. As Joe wrote above “at least nine offensive players… “ Brady did not send out a press release. It was closed. Brady didn’t mention Gabbert or Tyler Johnson either but Joe learned both were there via other social media photos.

Ryan Griffin and Giovani Bernard both worked out with Brady and Friends and participated in OTAs.
