Betting The Bucs
May 3rd, 2021In more than 20 states, you can make legal sports wagers right now (not Florida yet) and the NFL has finally embraced betting with all its greedy heart.
Joe finds it all a beautiful and fun thing.
For those who travel and dabble, Joe’s seeing a handful of intriguing Bucs wagers on today’s Draft Kings sportsbook board.
There are solid odds of +1400 on Tom Brady for NFL MVP, which means your $100 bet would return $1500 if Brady is crowned 2021 season MVP.
Only two other Buccaneers are on the MVP board.
It’s +20000 if you like Mike Evans for MVP, so a $10 bet gets you $2010. And it’s +25000 for Leonard ‘’Playoff Lenny’’ for MVP (a $1.00 bet gets you $251.00).
For Defensive Rooke Of The Year, you’ll find +2500 on Joe Tryon, so a winning $10 wager will get your $150. Fourteen rookies have shorter odds.
Bucs are -200 to win the NFC South, which means a $100 bet returns just $150. And for the Going For Two crowd, Tampa Bay is +650 to repeat as Super Bowl champs, aka a $100 bet returns $750.
For those wondering, Joe wagered nearly three months ago on the Bucs to win the NFC South in 2021.

If the NFL embraces legalized betting on it’s games, it is a sure bet that they will find a way to screw it up. Just watch!

Think you’re a lock on the NFC South. Might want to up your wager.

It helps that Disney doesn’t want it.

I think it was a good wager to bet on the bucs, but I don’t think anything is a lock. I am hoping for three things this season: father time doesn’t show up, good health, and that the team continues to bond. Those are the only three things I see getting in the way of the bucs on the way back to the Super Bowl.

What sort of odds would you have gotten if you would have bet KC wouldn’t score a TD in SuperBowl LV?
Does anyone know if that betting option was even available?

With the NFL going all-in on sports betting, officiating will be under more scrutiny than ever before.

@catcard. Yep, corruption will follow the money.

I always found it funny how the thought is that legalized gambling could be detrimental and cause players and refs to throw games. The fact is, that is way more likely when it’s under the table and illegal. When it’s legal, there’s a lot more incentive to keep everything on the up and up.

Mitch I think health is your only wish that matters. If healthy, the bucs are a safe bet to be in the title game. Home field advantage should be the goal, as you’re playing in front of fans this year. Had fans been allowed last year, I don’t think you beat the saints. I hope BA realizes that. Brady will be better than last year. He has a full off season to further morf the offense to peak efficiency. So long as they run the football and let brady be brady (no more 15 yard outs from the far hash) things should be fine.
Injuries will hurt this team, it’s almost a statistical certainty. The biggest reason teams don’t repeat is because of free agency and key injuries. They took care of free agency, but they should’ve placed more emphasis on o line at the draft. I want brady to repeat as much as y’all do, but I’ve seen enough football in my 43 years to tell me it won’t happen.

I see the Bucs second to the Chiefs in Vegas? How the f&ck is that possible? Whatever. Vegas and Mahomes and Kelce thought they could skate into Tampa for a championship. How wrong they were.

Outstanding explanation for the gambling uninitiated. Thank you.

@SOE Bucs
Many KC fans felt the only reason they lost the SB this past year was due to their injuries on their oline. They really beefed up their oline this past off season. I guess some feel confident that KC will win the Super Bowl this year. (Not I)

I bet $133, about an hour before the draft, that Zack Wilson would be drafted #2 overall — and I won $2!
With the way these sites ‘match’ your money when you sign-up, you have to roll over a certain amount. Well, a great way to roll over your money is to make sure bets – literal sure bets, not safe bets, but sure bets. Just something to keep in mind for those who didn’t think to do it already.

I had a winning bucs future super bowl ticket from last august and my buddy just cashed it in biloxi and asked him to bet it again he got 9-1 on the bucs for this year

For the last 18 or so years I place a $20 bet the buc’s will win SB. If I’m not in Vegas my son or a friend will cover me. My son was in Vegas a week before Buc’s signed Brady. Won $820 but for as long as I have been doing it I’m only up maybe $400.

Dusthty Rhothdes – I had the Bucs vs Bills as the super bowl matchup last August.
NFL Name the Finalists – Super Bowl – Super Bowl LV Exact Matchup – Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Buffalo Bills +6600 | LOST
Had $100 on it.
I don’t normally bet that much – my total preseason betting was only $100 plus the match amount which was maybe $50 (I don’t remember exactly).
But, just as a backup, I put $5 on KC vs Bucs, so I didn’t walk away empty handed.
NFL Name the Finalists – Super Bowl – Super Bowl LV Exact Matchup – Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Kansas City Chiefs +2500 | WON $125
Anyways, at the end of the year I had $133 from my original $100. Overall I’d say that’s a positive since I just bet for fun and to add a little to games. Also with my big draft day win, I’m now at $135. If I could get that into dogecoin then I’d really be balling in 2-years.

Take the field…..

After I lost money when somebody cheated for our loss to Tennessee in 2019 that was pretty much it for me. I vowed to never bet on NFL again. Of course like a feign looking for another fix I shamefully admitt betting on the SuperBowl.

Just dont get an account with bet u s…they keep your winnings, pos operation there.
May 3rd, 2021 at 5:01 pm
Not a gambling man…but if I were I would have bet the farm last year. I said along they would make it to the Superbowl.
This year? Same thing.
Once they get there, it’s anyone’s guess who wins.
May 3rd, 2021 at 6:28 pm
This is the year to make up for previous gambling losses. If you were one of the smart ones betting Patriots games over the last few years you won a bunch of money.
Now it should be the Bucs reaping the benefits of Vegas not being able to set the lines high enough. Gonna be a few blowouts to capitalize on. I had a $50 bet on the Bucs to win last year’s SB and I put more down on them when they got to the game feeling supremely confident and I am still kicking myself for not betting more!
The division win is the next bet for me, already bought the SB win ticket and couldn’t be happier that the Bucs don’t have the best odds.

What’s the line on AB making it through the entire season without dropping a TV on someone’s head?
