Joe Knows

April 30th, 2021

Bucs edge rusher Joe Tryon.

Either Joe Tryon was like the rest of America and marveled at how the Bucs choked out Pat Mahomes and the explosive Chiefs offense in the Super Bowl, or he already had a good hunch who was going to draft him.

The day after the Super Bowl, Tryon took to Twitter to address the Bucs’ front-seven — a group he now belongs to — with major props.

Was Tryon just geeked over the Bucs dominating the Super Bowl or was he already getting a head-start doing research on the defense he joined last night on his birthday?

Either way it’s good that Tryon has respect for his elders. Not like this slob.

Whats the scoop on the Bamma Slob? I missed it apparently?

  2. DingleBerry Says:

Licht did exactly what you don’t do. He fell in love with a workout warrior with nice muscles and ignored the tape.

“He’s a big weight lifting bum.” – Tyson Fury

  3. Tbbucs3 Says:

Already looks 10 times better than undersized Noah Spence

  4. Medicated Pete Says:

The 34 inch arms is a big deal

  5. Joe Says:

Whats the scoop on the Bamma Slob?

    Google is your friend.

  6. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Nope…..no premonition, just like all of the rest of the world……you hold KC to 3 FGs….you are flat-a$$ good!

  7. Tuddie Time Says:

Bamma slob made Sapp daddy wait during a pre-draft workout session. Sapp did not see anything special from him. So glad we passed on a Chris Baker clone. He needs to fall to the 5th round. Perhaps a good serving of humble pie may turn around his career.

  8. SB~LV Says:

How is the goof in the link ?

  9. HardyBuc22 Says:

I’m hearing reports the Bama dude (Barmore) is a huge pain in the ass. There’s no chance Jason Licht was going to game on a low character dude after dealing with ASJackwagon and other malcontents.

  10. SB~LV Says:

Khalil Davis flashed at the end of the year, keep an eye on him

  11. Casual Observer Says:

Agree that Davis could be a sleeper at DT.

  12. Steven007 Says:

TT, Baker is a good comp for banana boy. I typically don’t put much stock in what Sapp says, particularly since he missed on Myles Garrett and our guy Vea, but he seems spot on here.

  13. Joe Says:

    ignored the tape.

Right. A guy who built a Super Bowl team didn’t watch any tape of a guy he drafted.

How much money did you lose last night on the Bucs not drafting Rondale Moore?

  14. Steven007 Says:

    *bama boy

  15. SlyPirate Says:

Draft DT levi onwuzurike in the second, and we’d have 3 Washington players upfront.

    The Buc Dogs!!!

  16. DBS Says:

DingleBerry. Mr Expert get this. Licht is not giving the pick back and picking someone different to please you. Everyone gets it. You have been crying for over 13 hours. Give it up already. The man is a Buc.

  17. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Now go pick up Elijah Molden out of the next two or three picks.

  18. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    test

  19. Joeypoppems Says:

Im sure he was just impressed with how dominant the defense was lol. Im excited for Joe Tryon.

  20. bucsfan951 Says:

    @I CARE NOW

yeah i dont know either. i used google like the great joe said to and all that comes up is saben saying he does listen to coaching… not sure what else was said but i used google like the almighty joe said to.

  21. DingleBerry Says:

“First of all, he’s a very fluid athlete.” “He’s got very good feet. He’s got good lateral quickness. He plays with tremendous effort, which raises his game speed in my opinion, because he never gives up. We just thought that his workouts really jumped off the tape — just the way he can move, and move laterally, and play with balance in his drops and things like that. He’s going to be a very versatile guy for us.” – Jason Licht

Hmm the only thing he mentions are his motor and his workouts and how well he drops into coverage. Not saying Licht didn’t watch the tape. But I’m also not saying he wasn’t drunk when he did. Because Joe Tryon’s tape don’t say he’s worth a first round pick.

I know the pick is final and that Tryon is a Buc now, and I’ll root for his success, but that doesn’t mean I have to just blindly agree with the decision and say it was a great selection when I think it was horrible.

Time will tell who was right.

  22. I CARE NOW Says:

@HardyBuc22 and Tuddie Time, Thank You for the scoop my friends.

@Joe, Google is not my friend!!!

On the other hand, these folks who are complete strangers to me, they are my friends!!!

  23. All lives matter Says:

    He’ll fit in fine.

  24. I CARE NOW Says:

    @DingleBerry,

I agree with everything I have been reading from you. Here is the bottom line though.

    IT DOSENT MATTER!!! WHOOOOOOOOOA

For real though, I agree with your post mostly because I read your name and am like, “yup I can skip this post”. Than I see what others are saying about you and feel obligated to read what you said. For the most part you are ok in my book. Its the repetitiveness of your post that make me skip them, thats all sir.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  25. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    DingleBerry

You certainly have a right to express your opinion…..and, until he plays…..you are just as right about him as anyone who has a positive view….
However, there comes a point when it’s overkill and many suspect ulterior motives…..ie trolling.

As a Buc fan, I root for all our players to succeed as I’m sure you do.

So how about starting to focus on the next bad pick.

  26. ricky Says:

how can you guys picks the next day is beyond me.
Every time you think about draft prospects and evaluating them, ask yourself where was Brady picked?

and that will calm you down a bit.

  27. Robert Says:

    he does not look 260lbs

  28. I CARE NOW Says:

And you fit the mold of some of are extinct trolls. So you do come across like that too. Perhaps you are one of the extinct trolls just rebranded???

Hints DingleBerry, because even trolls can be self aware and know they are being stupid from time to time.

  29. Godlovesbucs Says:

Really? He says “he plays with tremendous effort.” “Hes got very good feet” that means he was watching technique on the field, not just workouts. Daniel jerimiah had him going at 21 to the colts, so he was viewed as a 1st round prospect by professionals.

  30. All lives matter Says:

DingleBerry comes across like Brady hater Ndog

  31. I CARE NOW Says:

@HardyBuc22 and Tuddie Time, Thank You for the scoop my friends.

@Joe, No “AI” is not my friend!!!

On the other hand, these real folks, they are my friends!!!

  32. Gofortheface30 Says:

Dingleberry – you are such a waterhead. And an ingrate of the highest order. Licht is a Super Bowl champion gm, one of the most highly respected general managers in the league, and built the entire foundation of this championship roster. Lastly is primarily responsible for being the first team ever bringing all 22 back. And yet, captain pudding head, I.E dingleberry thinks he knows what’s best. Listen – you are irrelevant, your opinion is irrelevant. Have a snickers and shut f up

  33. DoooshLaRue Says:

    He’s got a nice 5-pack.
Welcome to the Bucs Mr. Tryon!

  34. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

I guess we can have a Dingleberry now that El Buo Relisto and Ndog is no longer with us.

  35. Mitch Says:

The Bucs draft for intangibles almost as much as they draft for production. Tryon is high on character, effort, football IQ. He is a physical specimen just a little raw in his technique. Sounds like the perfect fit

  36. Swampbuc Says:

DingleBerry, are you and Aaron brothers or maybe sisters or something?

  37. Gofortheface30 Says:

Alabama – it may very well be Tmax, Ndog or El Bucco-ra-tard-o, but just changed their handle

  38. SB~LV Says:

Not to flatter the troll but Ndog was not clever or deep enough to craft a DB post.
Back to Ndog… anyone else notice the draft picks in their first National commercials ?
It occurred to me that they already have more national commercials than Jameis and they have not even signed their rookie contracts.

  39. martinii Says:

New training techniques and diets ect. result in a lot of these kids looking like Tarzan. Back in my day you were either fat, fast. tall, or a combination of all. If a kid like this would walk into the locker room we would have all tried to join the girls soccer team. If anybody has a second could they tell me if the compensatory draft picks are announced in RD3. Thanks.

  40. Buc4evr Says:

He moves like JPP and can rush standing up. Looks like a good pick and I can see him playing to give JPP a breather or used when Bowles decides to rush 5 upfront.

  41. Hope springs eternal Says:

Like Mitch says. He has the attributes for the position. Raw talent but when the coaches and JPP go to work on him he should be an impact player. No need to rush him into the line up. I see him getting playing time to spell JPP and gradually develope into a real force. He just may extend JPP career by giving him less than full time play and save his knees. Could be a great rotational pair as the season progresses especially against weaker opponents. Love to see JPP career extended with high quality backup who would gain valuable experience for when his time comes to be a starter. The bucs don’t need the kid to start now. Smart move by Licht. Next pic should be similar for OL or linebacker. Good athletes with time to develop.

  42. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Mitch,

While I agree with your take about how we draft now I still get a little nauseous when I hear the term “high football IQ”

    ……not sure why that is.
    😉

  43. Lord Cornelius Says:

I haven’t studied up much on this draft, but just looking around I am seeing Tryon ranked pretty high by most people. This guy has him as his #2 DE in the draft and breaks down film in general / spends a lot of time breaking down film.

He has Phillips #1 and says the group after is all pretty close but Tryon would be his #2 and has upside to be an all pro player. But what does he know.

Does anyone have a link to Dingleberry’s personal scouting websites / YouTube channels / or just general credentials that would still not justify him being whatever he is right now? Lol @ people like Dingleberry. GO BUCS BABY

  44. Drunkinybor Says:

I think it’s a great pick up we need some depth there. At worst he’ll be a solid career back up at best..well the world is his oyster.

  45. BT Says:

Did Dingleberry come on the scene after Realisto left? Hmmmmmmmm

  46. DingleBerry Says:

BT… Nice try. I’m not realist. Do you see me using a ton of unnecessary exclamation points and calling people sheep?

Nope. Definitely not Realist. I was a huge supported of the Bruce Arians hiring, love and respect the man and coach that he is and the tremendously talented coaching staff he assembled. Also would be more than happy if Leftwich or Bowles were to take over for him when he retires. I also respect and admire Jason Licht and the roster he’s put together.

I also predicted that we would be the first team in NFL history to win a Super Bowl at home after we signed Tom Brady. And still, despite me hating the selection of Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, I’m confident that we are going to win back to back Super Bowls.

I’m just disappointed in Licht and the scouting department because I think this pick is a huge reach and that their were probably 15-20 prospects that would have been better picks than Tryon that we could have even traded down to get.

  47. DingleBerry Says:

    huge *supporter*

  48. FrankPillow Says:

Here’s the great thing—Tryon can be a contributor, add depth and develop. He doesn’t need to come in and be the franchise savior. He’s simply a piece of the puzzle, with a much longer term view to what he can be vs what is his right now. It was a solid pick in that regard.

  49. David Says:

I don’t get a few people who have been bitching for 12 hours about this pick.
I understand having an opinion and liking some other guys in the draft
But when they make a pick you need to trust that your team did the research and go with their scouting department, not act like you know better.
    That’s just ridiculous

  50. David Says:

    DingleBerry…
So you read a couple scouting reports that say it’s a reach and make an opinion on that. There’s several other reports that say he was a top 20 pick and the number 4 defensive end/edge rusher in the draft. Many had the raven’s snagging him earlier. But I guess they’re all irrelevant because of your feelings. LoL. Ok
I liked the Ossai from Texas better, who cares?
Get over it and trust that the scouts and a Bucs did their research 1000 times better than you could possibly do.

This kid was a stud two years ago, moving up the boards but then sat out this year and it didn’t matter because Washington barely played football anyway.

Basically it’s time to shut up and give him a chance

  51. Swampbuc Says:

Everything I’ve read from the “experts” applauds the Bucs selection, for the good reasons Joe and informed posters have listed. To say there were 15-20 better choices is asinine and ignorant. A person is entitled to an asinine, ignorant opinion, it makes others look smarter.

    Mitch,

While I agree with your take about how we draft now I still get a little nauseous when I hear the term “high football IQ”

    ……not sure why that is.
    😉

Doosh…..do you think it could be because Jameis had a “high football IQ” ?

  53. DingleBerry Says:

My opinions of Tyron being a reach was formulated on my own and not based on anything else.

  54. Hemorrhoid Says:

    Hey DingleBerry, it’s me Hemorrhoid:
You could be right about Tryon.
    You could also be wrong.
Why the heck do you have to sound so sure of yourself? What do you gain? And will you change your handle and hide if you’re wrong?
Aside from that, would like to get your thoughts on the following: what’s worse, a dingleberry or a hemmy? I think the latter. Because they bleed, hurt and if they get real bad, you have to remove them surgically.

  55. Rod Munch Says:

Not that is means much, but in the clip of highlights, which didn’t show much since everything was cut when he was at the QB, anyways, he physically moves and looks like Shaq. Based on the numbers he should be faster and stronger than Shaq, who himself said he’s nothing special when it comes to workout numbers.

But I heard a lot of people on TV comparing him to JPP — and that I don’t see at all. JPP looks longer, even if he’s not, he just looks it – and JPP was and is an insane athlete, more like Simeon Rice than a traditional 3-4 edge LB.

I’m not making statements on anything, just literally commenting based off some limited comments I’ve seen. If he ends up being a Shaq clone, then we just made the best pick in the first round.

  56. Bill Says:

Dingleberry, in case you haven’t figured it out, nobody cares about your opinion.

  57. BUCFAN4LIFE Says:

I absolutely love that pick ! He’s exactly like a young JPP and Tryon WILL learn from him and be MORE than ready to step in JPP’s position when he retires ! In JL and our scouts I Trust !

  58. Itzok Says:

half the guys picked in the first round won’t be any good. I like investing in the d line and hope the kid is great. My scars are too fresh from Hargreaves. Hargreaves is soo bad in the NFL it makes me wonder if anyone in any front office knows what they are doing
