Bucs edge rusher Joe Tryon.
Either Joe Tryon was like the rest of America and marveled at how the Bucs choked out Pat Mahomes and the explosive Chiefs offense in the Super Bowl, or he already had a good hunch who was going to draft him.
The day after the Super Bowl, Tryon took to Twitter to address the Bucs’ front-seven — a group he now belongs to — with major props.

Was Tryon just geeked over the Bucs dominating the Super Bowl or was he already getting a head-start doing research on the defense he joined last night on his birthday?

Bamma slob made Sapp daddy wait during a pre-draft workout session. Sapp did not see anything special from him. So glad we passed on a Chris Baker clone. He needs to fall to the 5th round. Perhaps a good serving of humble pie may turn around his career.

TT, Baker is a good comp for banana boy. I typically don’t put much stock in what Sapp says, particularly since he missed on Myles Garrett and our guy Vea, but he seems spot on here.

Hmm the only thing he mentions are his motor and his workouts and how well he drops into coverage. Not saying Licht didn’t watch the tape. But I’m also not saying he wasn’t drunk when he did. Because Joe Tryon’s tape don’t say he’s worth a first round pick.
I know the pick is final and that Tryon is a Buc now, and I’ll root for his success, but that doesn’t mean I have to just blindly agree with the decision and say it was a great selection when I think it was horrible.
Time will tell who was right.

However, there comes a point when it’s overkill and many suspect ulterior motives…..ie trolling.
As a Buc fan, I root for all our players to succeed as I’m sure you do.

Really? He says “he plays with tremendous effort.” “Hes got very good feet” that means he was watching technique on the field, not just workouts. Daniel jerimiah had him going at 21 to the colts, so he was viewed as a 1st round prospect by professionals.

Licht is a Super Bowl champion gm, one of the most highly respected general managers in the league, and built the entire foundation of this championship roster. The Bucs draft for intangibles almost as much as they draft for production. Tryon is high on character, effort, football IQ. He is a physical specimen just a little raw in his technique. Sounds like the perfect fit

New training techniques and diets ect. result in a lot of these kids looking like Tarzan. Back in my day you were either fat, fast. tall, or a combination of all. If a kid like this would walk into the locker room we would have all tried to join the girls soccer team. If anybody has a second could they tell me if the compensatory draft picks are announced in RD3. Thanks.

He moves like JPP and can rush standing up. Looks like a good pick and I can see him playing to give JPP a breather or used when Bowles decides to rush 5 upfront.

Like Mitch says. He has the attributes for the position. Raw talent but when the coaches and JPP go to work on him he should be an impact player. No need to rush him into the line up. I see him getting playing time to spell JPP and gradually develope into a real force. He just may extend JPP career by giving him less than full time play and save his knees. Could be a great rotational pair as the season progresses especially against weaker opponents. Love to see JPP career extended with high quality backup who would gain valuable experience for when his time comes to be a starter. The bucs don’t need the kid to start now. Smart move by Licht. Next pic should be similar for OL or linebacker. Good athletes with time to develop.

I haven’t studied up much on this draft, but just looking around I am seeing Tryon ranked pretty high by most people. This guy has him as his #2 DE in the draft and breaks down film in general / spends a lot of time breaking down film.
He has Phillips #1 and says the group after is all pretty close but Tryon would be his #2 and has upside to be an all pro player. But what does he know.
Does anyone have a link to Dingleberry’s personal scouting websites / YouTube channels / or just general credentials that would still not justify him being whatever he is right now? Lol @ people like Dingleberry. GO BUCS BABY

BT… Nice try. I’m not realist. Do you see me using a ton of unnecessary exclamation points and calling people sheep?
Nope. Definitely not Realist. I was a huge supported of the Bruce Arians hiring, love and respect the man and coach that he is and the tremendously talented coaching staff he assembled. Also would be more than happy if Leftwich or Bowles were to take over for him when he retires. I also respect and admire Jason Licht and the roster he’s put together.
I also predicted that we would be the first team in NFL history to win a Super Bowl at home after we signed Tom Brady. And still, despite me hating the selection of Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, I’m confident that we are going to win back to back Super Bowls.
I’m just disappointed in Licht and the scouting department because I think this pick is a huge reach and that their were probably 15-20 prospects that would have been better picks than Tryon that we could have even traded down to get.

Here’s the great thing—Tryon can be a contributor, add depth and develop. He doesn’t need to come in and be the franchise savior. He’s simply a piece of the puzzle, with a much longer term view to what he can be vs what is his right now. It was a solid pick in that regard.

I understand having an opinion and liking some other guys in the draft
But when they make a pick you need to trust that your team did the research and go with their scouting department, not act like you know better.

So you read a couple scouting reports that say it’s a reach and make an opinion on that. There’s several other reports that say he was a top 20 pick and the number 4 defensive end/edge rusher in the draft. Many had the raven’s snagging him earlier. But I guess they’re all irrelevant because of your feelings. LoL. Ok
I liked the Ossai from Texas better, who cares?
Get over it and trust that the scouts and a Bucs did their research 1000 times better than you could possibly do.
This kid was a stud two years ago, moving up the boards but then sat out this year and it didn’t matter because Washington barely played football anyway.
Basically it’s time to shut up and give him a chance

Everything I’ve read from the “experts” applauds the Bucs selection, for the good reasons Joe and informed posters have listed. To say there were 15-20 better choices is asinine and ignorant. A person is entitled to an asinine, ignorant opinion, it makes others look smarter.

You could also be wrong.
Why the heck do you have to sound so sure of yourself? What do you gain? And will you change your handle and hide if you’re wrong?
Aside from that, would like to get your thoughts on the following: what’s worse, a dingleberry or a hemmy? I think the latter. Because they bleed, hurt and if they get real bad, you have to remove them surgically.

Not that is means much, but in the clip of highlights, which didn’t show much since everything was cut when he was at the QB, anyways, he physically moves and looks like Shaq. Based on the numbers he should be faster and stronger than Shaq, who himself said he’s nothing special when it comes to workout numbers.
But I heard a lot of people on TV comparing him to JPP — and that I don’t see at all. JPP looks longer, even if he’s not, he just looks it – and JPP was and is an insane athlete, more like Simeon Rice than a traditional 3-4 edge LB.
I’m not making statements on anything, just literally commenting based off some limited comments I’ve seen. If he ends up being a Shaq clone, then we just made the best pick in the first round.

half the guys picked in the first round won’t be any good. I like investing in the d line and hope the kid is great. My scars are too fresh from Hargreaves. Hargreaves is soo bad in the NFL it makes me wonder if anyone in any front office knows what they are doing
