Edge rusher/outside linebacker Joe Tryon told local media this morning he can play anywhere in any scheme, and he is ready to roll.
The Bucs first-round pick added he leaned on former teammate Vita Vea heavily for guidance during the pre-draft process, and Tryon was adamant that he didn’t miss a beat opting out of college football last season at the University of Washington.
“While I opted out, I took advantage of it,” Tyron said, noting he trained a lot in California and former Pro Bowl DE Cliff Avril helped him develop his pass rush repertoire..
Tyron is fired up to get in the Bucs locker room and soak it all in. He says he loves being around greatness … then he should be one happy rookie.

Are we to call him Tryon-Shoyinka like his name plate says or just Joe Tryon?
I’m confused because we call Sean, Sean Murphy-Bunting like his name plate says and not just Sean Murphy or Sean Bunting (like in College)….
I’m confused what’s the difference any why everyone chooses to abbreviate one hyphenated name, but pronounce the other hyphenated name in its entirety 🤷♂️

Why takes shots at this guy? This is above your pay grade. T Bowles and Company know to evaluate and coach, how to put the QB on the ground, right Mahomes- Rodgers. So they will groom this guy, and the day will come, barring injury, to replace JPP or Shaq. GO BUCS!!!!

This guy is going to be a JPP clone, doesn’t hurt that he gets to learn under JPP and Shaq. If he played the 2020 college season, he would have been a mid-round 1st Rd talent.
He’s far from being a project. LOL. Watch his tape. And he gets to be thrown in as a DPR his first year to help our DL get more pressure. He’s not expected to be the starter right away. The guy has instincts and can drop back, plays with speed and sudden moves. If it translates to the NFL, he will be a steal as a #32 pick.

We definitely can use help in the secondary. T Bowles and the coaches see the players day in and day out, so they know the Bucs front seven is the foundation of the defense and the secondary is not near the level of the front 7. I still do not trust C Davis not to fall on the ground covering like he did in the NFC Title game when he gave up a TD. With that said, they obviously felt better about this guy than the secondary talent in front of them to make a first round pick. The Bucs definately NEED help in the secondary, but no please do not reach. They do not think they are reaching on this guy. So I defer to T Bowles and company. Yes let’s agree and disagree, but why take shots at people. Just state an opinion. If we are honest, none of us even knows what tomorrow will be like let alone a draft pick that we have never even talked to or studied personally. GO BUCS!!!!

Yes J Licht picked JW, but what about these names listed by Godlovesbucs. To being honest gives both sides of the story, not just what backs up my point of veiw.
J Licht is the main orchestrator of the assembled coaches and players that make up the Current World Champions. Remember, he assembled the team that Brady wanted and studied to come to. He did not fumble the Brady signing. So again, there has been the R Aguayo pick, but in the light of the assembled coaches and players of the 2021 Buccaneers you have to give credit where it is due. So state honest opinions, not just to back up a point at the expense of what is actually the sitution. GO BUCS!!!!!

The Bucs won a Super Bowl and are returning every starter and most of the depth. Really, man, you sound like you have some serious PTSD issues. Aaron. Zip it. Edge Rusher is the shallowest position in this draft and we have the liberty of being able to draft a developmental prospect to take over for JPP. We’re about to lose a lot of players after next year so why not line up some youth to take over.

You think Milton Williams would be a good addition? Could slide in at both Gholston and Suh’s spot (even NT on OBVIOUS pass-rushing downs)…

Know nothing about him but looking at the limited film available, looks like a straight-up bull rusher similar to JPP. I assume he has upside potential but I can’t get my head around the fact he was taken ahead of Azeez Ojulari who is physically stronger, more developed and a much less risky pick.

It’s not Azeez’s play, he has been flagged by A LOT of teams w/ serious injury concerns to his knee and and ankle. Many teams are reported to have been scared off by the injuries.

Knocking Jason for picking Winston is a Stephen A level nonsense take.
JW busted yes but you still had to take him at #1. That was the right pick with the available info at the time. You have to take your shot at QBs when you can but they don’t always work out.
Had Mariota been a stud you could have knocked him but we all know how that worked out.

When I went back & watched Tyron’s 2019 tape…I came away w/ the mental comp that he could develop into a Anthony Barr OLB clone in the NFL…Which is not a bad expected ceiling for a #32 pick.
I knock & second guess Jason Licht / Bucs FO & Scouting Dept. on the constant…But it’s hard to find flaw with this selection.
